FINISHED! ❤️ I loved it and hated it at the same time😭 id give it a 7/10 at best (maybe a 6)✌️ thoughts below!! (contains spoilers)
Okay so the animation, music and whole experience was great, tbh the movie was beautiful and there were some amazing scenes😍 but my god the ending💀💀 I hate how the movie threw all of Violet's character development out the window😫 I do not like how Gilbert is still alive, im sorry to say but he was better off dead. I thought a major point of the series was ab Violet finally getting over Gilbert's death, moving on and becoming independent ... but apparently not because by the end it still feels like Violet would do absolutely anything Gilbert tells her to do and she does because as soon as they finally meet Gilbert asks her to stay with him on the island and ofc she accepts which i hate👿 Also Gilbert is now a confirmed pedo💀 while he was hugging her romantically he said 'ive always wanted to do this' like the last time he saw her wasnt when she was 14💀 btw the movie 100% took a romantic turn so there is no denying that they now live together as a couple for the rest of their days.. ew. Because dont forget Gilbert is the one who fed her, clothed her, taught her how to read etc. just like a parent and these are all Gilberts latest memories of her. Also i feel like violet hasn't yet broken away from the idea of the commander-subordinate relationship they had +so still feels obliged to listen to him. Anyway the storyline about Yurith was really cute and sad, although i loved the letters to his mum dad and brother i do feel like they just redid the same concept of writing letters to someone before you die and for a finale movie i wouldve liked to see something new but oh well i still enjoyed, also to add the i liked the introduction to telephones which will mean no more need for auto memory dolls anymore :0 Dietfried's character development was really good too and he was the MVP of this movie along with Claudia(the red head) p.s there was no need for Daisy in this movie.. no need at all:/ I just love Violet Evergarden so much- the series and her as a character that its kinda make me sad for her😔 she didn't grow at all, shes gone back to being reliant on Gilbert and same to him too tbh they are not meant to be💔

OVERALL im sad to say this movie has ruined VE for me and was a terrible end to her story because now i know from now her being 18yo all the way to her old age she'll be living on some crappy island alone with a pedo. 😭

This could be a good anime. but its not.
mainly because the main character, daisuke, is really bad. all the other characters are actually kinda cool.
why daisuke ruins the show:
Daisuke and friends when they were kids were out somewhere and daisuke was kidnapped and a woman called milo saved them but told daisuke 'one day danger will come and you will have to save everyone' now milo saying this ruined the whole show because of that one sentence daisuke now all the way up till high school which is the present bascially thinks he has to protect everyone, so daisuke ends up being violent and attacking ... random people thinking they are gonna hurt his friends, one example is a man was asking one of the girl main characters for directions and then daisuke randomly jumped him thinking she was in danger, in the process the man ended up breaking his ribs.
When this monster called a revision one day start attacking the school and KILLS his classmates, Daisuke is HAPPY that finally the day has come for him to protect everyone. This makes him look like he thinks he is better than everyone else or something and makes him so annoying. Milo ends up saving them and says daisuke can save them by giving him this mecha suit called a string puppet, like why does milo keep on saying only daisuke can help, anyway he ends up using the suit still really happy for some reason and is moaning about how the suit isnt fast enough like no ur just crap at using it. If only they made Daisuke better and didnt give him this need to do everything by himself thinking only he can save them.
