Herls
I like anime.
Studio Ghibli
Studio Ghibli is undoubtedly one of my favorite studios of all time. Their movies not only inspire me but also instill in me a deep desire to embrace life and move forward, aspiring to achieve the idyllic existence depicted by their characters. I yearn to inhabit a cozy countryside cottage, engage in honest toil in the fields, brimming with opportunities for self-discovery and personal growth.
What I truly appreciate about Ghibli is how even in their more serious films, such as "Spirited Away" or "Howl's Moving Castle," they seamlessly weave elements of personal development and romantic relationships into the narrative. My introduction to Ghibli dates back to when I was a mere 6 years old, and I fondly recall spending countless days rewatching the same films, with "Kiki's Delivery Service" and "My Neighbor Totoro" being among my cherished favorites.
Ghibli, in many ways, has played a pivotal role in shaping the person I am today and the person I aspire to become in the future.
Clannad: After Story
Clannad is truly a unique show, possessing the extraordinary capacity to evoke emotions that no other series can even hope to match. I invariably find myself drawn back to this anime, whether I'm watching a brief clip on YouTube or revisiting the parallel narratives that unfold within it.
Kyoto Animation
When I think of my favorite anime creators, Kyoto Animation immediately springs to mind. In my eyes, Kyoto Animation can be divided into two distinct facets.
First, there's the part of the studio that excels in crafting incredibly endearing "moe" and light-hearted anime, imbued with enough maturity to avoid feeling clumsy. Notable titles from this category include Chuunibyou, K-On!, and Tamako Market.
Then, there's the other side of Kyoto Animation, which specializes in producing mature, emotionally rich anime, characterized by intricate romantic relationships and complex friendships. Works like Violet Evergarden, Koe no Katachi, Clannad, and Hyouka fall under this category.
Kyoto Animation serves as my go-to studio whenever I seek a wake-up call, a reminder of who I am, and a gauge of my actions. It's also my preferred choice when I simply want to relax, indulge in some romance, explore light-hearted relationships, and immerse myself in the daily life and culture of Japan.
