Super cute show! I've never sat down and watched any Sanrio shows despite being aware of the line and thinking it's cute, but I'm very glad I gave this show a try. The stop motion animation is insanely charming and well done! This show made me laugh and tear up, but most importantly, I'd say it made me a fan of Sanrio! Will definitely be checking out more shows in the franchise.

One thing I will say is that this show feels like it's paced more like a movie ... than a tv series. I initially thought this was planned as a movie before they were forced to chop it up into episodes, but there is one joke near the end that makes me think that's unlikely. Regardless, if you're interested in checking this out, I'd personally recommend treating it more like a movie and watching it in 1-2 batches rather than an episode here and there.

The first two episodes of this show are honestly really good, but unfortunately the show dropped off in episodes 3 and 4 (which is all that is out at the moment of writing). The first two episodes follow the same mystery, giving the show enough time to introduce the main characters while also giving the mystery enough time to breathe and develop naturally. The show managed to keep me guessing until the end of ep 2, and I found the conclusion satisfying. This combined with some fun side characters gave me high hopes.

Unfortunately the show would not continue this trend, episodes 3 and ... 4 contain more self-contained mysteries that feel very obvious from minute 1, I have to assume most viewers would be able to figure out all but maybe 1 detail a few minutes in. The more amusing side characters from the first two eps are gone, and while there's an amusing moment with the main duo here and there, it isn't really enough to keep the viewer engaged.

If you're really curious about this show, I think watching the first two eps together and treating it like a single 45 minute OVA wouldn't be the worst call, especially if you're a fan of murder mystery. But I can't really recommend watching beyond that. It's a shame, because there's absolutely a version of this show that would have me hooked if the mysteries were a little more complex, potentially with each one being given 2 episodes to play out like the first one had. But as it stands I can't really recommend you check this out.
