This anime of chainsaw man, which covers not much from the manga, manages to make a cinematic adaptation that maintains the quality of those chapters of the manga and adds up to it an interesting quality: Dread, tension. Though it sacrifices the style of the manga and the quirky humorous style of the presentation, it more than makes up for it by making the buildup to the finale of the season not just tense but also impactful in a dreadful way, highlighting the seriousness of the supernatural threat that the devils and stakes present in a way that the manga does not in tone (not
...
that this makes the manga any less inferior or the anime superior, just that they have their own unique great quality), even if it obviously doesnt cut the humorous moments of the story. The plot is obviously great, the premise of why denji does what he does and the the whole charming nature of the action mixed with the subtle emotional tension in the backdrop is very engaging, but not entering in detail on that here. All in all, it is impressive what this anime adaptation managed to do with so little, which passes by very quickly in the manga (especially since fujimoto´s works overall are fast and simple to read in regards to panneling and pacing, which he is great at since his balance of art and dialogue is top notch) and makes a season that greatly expands on this tense aspect of the story that the manga can have when approached not just cinematically but also when stripped of the most notorious aspect of the tone and art; the cgi usage is not bad at all, still looks good and far from ugly, it makes a good usage of it compared to the usual. Wont expand on the fact that the content of it itself is hella good, always engaging just like the manga while adding its own flavor of suspense tension, fun bloody action. A great recomendation that also works perfectly as an introduction to create interest for the manga.

Vampeerz is a manga with a mostly chill story that does well the romantic crushing between the main couple and has a natural feel to the dialogue of the characters. Eventually it recognizes that it lacks tension and stakes, which are definitely emphatized more the closer it reaches the ending, though it still is, much of it, inconsequential and simply and laidback. The main flaw is that the buildup, which occasionally is slightly shown with each earlier episode, is met with an unsatisfaying, rushed turn of events later. It feels like a manga that could have had more to it both in the way the
...
background art was protrayed but also in scale. As it is, it did meandered quite a bit for how quick the plot's nature was going to unfold, even giving the impression of being axed. Still, as it is, it remains being better than most generic vampire stories, even if it could have been way more, especially with how good the artist is at drawing character and making atmosphere. The characters are not all superb in terms of very fleshed out or anything like that, but they are consistently fine.
The criticism about it being "mostly sexual content" is very exagerated and nonsensical, as the "erotic" content of it is vanilla and revolves around sucking blood, most of the manga is more centered about romance, interactions between the characters and their relation to the main mystery surrounding a certain object. It is not a hentai nor an ecchi manga at all.
The art is done by a the author of Implicity, which has also done some other hentai works and another very vanilla laidback lesbian short story. In my review of Implicity, the most known work of this author, i expressed my appreciation for his art and highlighted how great is talent for erotic content is: The details, the atmosphere he can depict if he wants, the very flavorful and aesthetically erotic and pretty drawing of lewd scenes and "hot" girls and etc. So what about in this manga? In it the art is below the standard settled by implicity in terms of background, which was not a focus there but still fine, while here it goes from good to lacking, even if atmospheric. The erotic depictions are, as always, really good and the characters never fail to look appealing in that way in their beauty and sensuality. All in all, the art of this manga, though good when it comes to characters, when it comes to setting it is only fine, even if the visuals are characteristic of this author and far from awful. The colors, details and remarkable drawing of Implicity are mostly scrapped, only appearing here and there through some erotic scenes (which are, as i said before, just vanilla, few and most of that few is blood sucking, with not as much detail as his hentai artistic opus implicity). Yet, regardless, the art is not bad, it is atmospheric and pleasant enough, just not fully explored nor given the full effort that the author could have given it, as shown by his most known hentai work. The author is an excellent loli artist and it shows.
I wont go in detail about characters since this is not a spoiler review (i am one of the few who dont give spoilers in non-spoiler reviews), but their interactions are nice and they are likable. Overall it is a manga that feels very fine but that for some reason feels very lacking in a way that it is hard to explain. It is a good casual romance to read, for sure, but it doesnt pack a punch to be more than very casual. A fine recomendation either way, it is a quite unique manga with a charming yuri chemistry going on and with a mostly laidback yet interesting enough story, even if it feels somewhat empty and lacking. With the way it unfolds, most readers would probably feel more satisfied than me, as i expected more from it. It is a charming manga without a doubt, even if it could have been way more.

Ito wo Yoru is a brief hentai manga that intends to showcase scenarios that lead to lewd interactions between people, those being the characters during the hentai. The dialogue feels realistic even in the teasing that occasionally happens between the characters and the art is good, both in the erotic sense of it (it enhances the spicy lewdness of it all quite well) and in the looks of it by itself (it is not a generic hentai art but one that is visibly above average). The depictions of the sexual acts done are well conveyed aside from few pannels. Even more refreshing is the fact
...
that it depics certain fetishes (two vanilla ones and that also are the exact fetishes i have myself) in an well done way, even if it doesnt fully focuses on it (i am yet to see a hentai that does).
Overall it is a hentai with a good package that makes it all come together in a pleasant, charming chill way. Like i said before, it is above average for a hentai and as a manga hentai it is not exceptional but good for what it is, interesting one.

This manga is an adaptation of a novel but since i didnt read the novel yet and dont intend to compare both to judge when i read it, i will just focus on the manga itself and by itself it is an interesting one, though lacking. I will not judge it using the novel as reference.
It is a flawed drama but an interesting, enjoyable character portrayal of the life of the main character. Mentioned as being harrowing in the bleak way it presents a "downfall" of the character as he continusly descends himself from a not so cheerful existence of emptiness and playing pretend to
...
get by to an utter state of decay and hopelessness, it does indeed show a progression of events that can only lead to an aimless path in life for main character, but the lack of actual tragic turn of events and a protagonist who has a maxed level of rizz holds it back from being more than what it could have been, though the premise is interesting yet not explored enough.
Start of spoiler. Most of things that happen during the story are caused by the ooba himself simply not feeling like continuing the way he was (it is not explicit in the manga but maybe because of chronic boredom, which ties with his pervasive lethargic mood mixed with melancholic emptiness), which happened at beginning of the manga when he simply dropped out of school and then with him just using his rizz to accomodate himself with women so he can dedicate his time on drinking and slacking off (later smoking is added and by some miracle he even starts writing a manga). It is assumed that he had some trauma with his dad´s attitude and the abuse he suffered from housekeepers but that is not much talked about during the manga, barely matters. There is one incident that happens in Ooba´s life that was not his fault, but the rest was all because he simply doesnt feel motivated to do anything but use his already mentioned max level womanizer rizz to leech away his days off, which is what is the main problem of this manga regarding the "tragedy" it intends to present. It is laughable even.
It would be a more relatable drama or even more interesting in the bleak yet real portrayal of people if Ooba simply wasnt a womanizer, because not only he can easily enjoy the wonders of pleasuring himself with ease and even get women to genuinely fall in love with him, he can also get them to give him money purely out of affection and passion for him, which would make up for a good comedy but since the story intends to be a serious, dark portrayal of a broken guy and the depressing nature of reality tinged with a realistic tone regarding the nature of people (which this manga nailed in tone) it absolutely fails at delivering such a type of story. Not only Ooba´s anguish comes off as flat, but also his pessimism as well because he is in fact treated very well by the women of the story, so it only serves to make Ooba´s cynical attitude later even at the end to feel flat. End of spoiler.
A lot of people have a very strong reaction to this manga, highlighting the "depressing" aspects of it and how dark and sad it is, but due to the reasons above i cant see it that way, though i appreciate the tone it has and the atmosphere, as well as the fact that i enjoyed reading it. If looked at it as merely the exposition of the person that Ooba is then it works in presenting that, even if not very elaborate and quite short to be enough, given that his hinted traumas that supposedly make him turn that way despite being such a "gifted" guy are not shown nor explained as they should have. There is not much to balance Ooba´s character with the aforementioned supreme rizz, unfortunately (which is the problem of the story, though inevitable). The art is done well and the visuals are better than average, helps that the panneling is also done well. At the end, a worthwile curious good short story that is charming and entertaining.

The main quality of bad thinking diary that makes it enjoyable is the art. The art is very distinctive and has personality, while achieving well the goal of being pleasantly erotic, especially in body proportions and faces, though the in details of body parts such as feet arent very focused upon (even less so the feet, armpit had potential). In general it looks nice to see and fits well with the colors used on the manhwa. Given that the art is good and can improve to make up a high quality smut manhwa (if it has more details and better erotic plot), is the story
...
interesting? No, it is based on lack of communication and problems that could have been easily solved have the characters just talked to each other in a straightforward way. The plot is simply artificial drama and that ends up as lacking as it was during the entirety, so it is worth it only for the art and because it goes by pretty quick.
I will give spoilers now on the nature of it. Yuna always liked minji and minji always liked yuna, but yuna felt increasingly ashamed of confessing how she feels the more she casually did hookup with fwbs and casual dates just for the sake of sexual activities, while minji simply feels nervous about it and when she was close to confessing that she liked yuna, hyera messes up with minji´s definitions of what her crush for yuna meant, ocasionally ruining her confession which was interpreted as just a desire for a hookup by yuna, though this isnt exactly what minji really wanted to mean. The worse part about this plot is that while all that happens and the interactions minji has with a guy further increase the distance she has to yuna, yuna and minji actually get to have sex together, they get intimate with each other and given that they know each other for quite a long time (which is later shown in the story even more) it makes all this drama really not work. Usually in school dramas about back and forth romantic crushes, both parties not even hold hands until the finale, the awkward phase stands predominant, but for characters in college that are 21 (one of them, yuna, even used to casual sex with other women) and that do in fact go way beyond holding hands, such attitude is simply not justified, it wouldnt hurt for neither of them to just say "i would like to have you as girlfriend, have a relationship with you, be your girlfriend", but they dont. So Hye-ra plots for Minjae, one of her lovers that is head-over-heels for her, to have a fling and then stick with Yuna after to separate them from each other and tries to have minji to have one fling with another chick on a bar. Then Hyera amps up the conflict by taking the phone of minji and making her write bad stuff in the community online of the college about minjae and for minjae to spread negative stuff about her, threatening yuna saying that she will make amends with minji if she lets go of minji. Anyway eventually the lover confesses all the plot and hye-ra is confronted, reveals her ambiguous reasons that go between toying for fun and wanting to have playthings just for her, they all forgive each other at the end even though none of them outright say it, yuna and minji confess to each other and do stuff together, even slice of life stuff briefly at the end, ending with the trio having an awkward vibe with the main trickster baddie but all in all resolved with each other and chill. End of spoiler.
As it stands, the bad thinking diary is not much entertaining and once you get the gist of how the plot progresses it just meanders on and on without justifying why it drags so much, with only the good sexual interactions of the characters on top of the art of the characters to make it worthwile to follow (and it is nothing amazing, just good and charming enough). Would be way worse if it wasnt for the art, but some of the characters´s interactions are nice to see and the art is enjoyable (though could have had more to it, the artist has potential). Overall a boring plot that is not entertaining nor engaging, which is unfortunate.

Such a good slice of life. Well aware about the passing nature of life, with good natural interactions between the characters and an art that only makes it better. Short yet manages to have an impactful laidback sense of grasp of the beauty in small moments and the precious aspects of not adhering to a rushed pace towards things in life. The mood of this manga has a good sentimentality that though not blatantly dramatic (which is not a problem by itself at all) it is seeping a fresh, relaxed emotionality of appreciation of places and situations, especially laidback ones. There are no tense moments,
...
aside from general worries about career during the manga and the conclusion to the relationship between characters is satisfaying. The art is very good, especially in regards to depicting the quiet nature of the setting. It is a rather simple manga but it executes what it intends pretty well, all things considered.
If you are in the same place in life as the mc, i imagine that the main theme of putting things to a pause or even retreating to a more laidback yet seemingly "stagnant" place in life in order to feel more at ease/peace with the day-to-day life (not bad by itself at all) to hit home more. I am not a graduated worker with busy schedules like the mc but i feel that i would only love it more if i was, but the broad viewpoint still manages to be effective in a safe-haven kind of way.
Worth it a read and recomended.

Despite the spoiler tag, this review only is tagged as such because i mentioned one aspect of it, so overall no actual spoilers (like many reviews here of manga and even hentai do: no spoiler tag but full of spoilers).
TSF Monogatari is a hentai manga that while has a concept that is not inherently bad, ends up meandering and far from interesting. Sure, it is a hentai and the main intention of it and core of it revolves around the erotic factor of it, which would redeem the lackluster entertaining value if the art was good enough and the motives for the sexual stuff were
...
good enough (though the plot already should cover that)... yet, the art is just ok and the erotic of it is not interesting aside from the already known premise nor it develops into something more than that. On methamorphosis, the most known work of the author and for laughable reasons, the art is somewhat better and the erotic content is a bit more successful (aka "hotter", especially due to the more twisted nature of it though not that twisted as said to be neither), despite both sharing very high weaknesses such as weak teasing dialogue, enormous unflattering "boobs" (generic to a bunch of hentai) and progression (with TSF monogatari being supremely boring all the way through compared to metamorphosis, which atleast had a little bit more going on for it). What makes TSF Monogatari be bad is that it is just very typical, repetitive and surprisingly not appealing lewd-wise, with couple exceptions regarding some well drawn parts and a watered down sex-work arc (which are neither that great to begin with, just ok). To not enter in detail, it is basically the MC becoming a girl (we dont see his boy self) for experimental necessary health reasons and gradually enjoying being a girl, getting very horny and acting according to such a high libido with men ranging from school dudes and ugly bastards, what happens in between is repeated and again: Boring, even the ending.
2 stories non-related to the MC happen but they are equally forgettable and not interesting. Overall not a good hentai nor good hentai manga. I evalue hentai as a "hentai manga" in which being entertaining to read counts and as "hentai hentai", which is the lewd/erotic value of it artistically (drawing-wise and writing-wise, in the sense of the writing enhancing the sexual spice of it). TSF Monogatari fails in both, thus ultimately generic and not appealing. Not horrible to look at, just boring and being boring is horrible by itself, when not totally apalling.

The boxer is a pretty straightforward manhwa centered around boxing and the characters that do it and why they do; what makes it stand out, however, is how much it tackles with very humane and objectively true facts about existence and life, in the same vein that the author already did (albeit in a different, more minimalistic tone) on his other manhwa "The Horizon", that one having a great and expressive art that carries on to this manhwa as well (altough not as focused on the art like on that manhwa,).
The existential concerns that are put and approached in a very simple way during
...
the progression of the story is what makes this manhwa shine and be nice as a whole, especially because it revolves more about how hardships and fatality inherent to unfortunate lives (in general about the brevity of life too). It has tons of moments that feel repetitive, as the format of how it approaches characters and how the battles occur can get quite stale (the descriptions of it also drag), but fortunately it comfortably compensates due to the existential thematic i already highlighted as it having while being very heartfelt and breeming with sincerity (it can be a pretty comfortable read if you are already stressed and sad about your own suffering and about life). The existential aspect of it isnt deep (not criticizing it), just a reafirmation of how life is. Without spoilers at all, it is a nice recomendation and worth it a read.

Gantz is a manga that nonchalantly conveys its own sense of aesthetics in a way that makes the horror design, thriller-like dread, charming application of "rule of cool" and sense of humor feel cohesive when put together (especially at the initial arcs centered around the survival aspect of the manga), even if it gradually falls off from such a good start. In the beginning arcs, the survival perspective it takes to tell the action-oriented story of the manga are very good and though it progressively loses steam of what made it engaging after certain point in favor of something that can be considered more generic,
...
it still can keep up some of its own identity (which unfortunately wasnt enough to make it a satisfaying finale, but it had highlight situations and funny bits that made it enjoyable to follow along with the action). Criticized by some for certain characteristics of it (some being made up), most of the criticism is very exagerated (when not just bad), so it can be easily disregarded (however, i do agree with the criticism about the last "arc" dragging and meh plot points, which isnt brought up much), and i add: I do not think the common generic criticism it usually gets by a certain bunch are what makes it flawed, i do think it has some obvious flaws but they are FAR from being for those commonly regurgitated reasons. The final arc, more than any other in the story (though it started to get worse as soon as when a certain moment on the story comes) showcases a noticeably drawn out drop of what made Gantz so great when compared to the good start of it all (wont go in detail, as this is not a spoiler review). For this reason, i understand why one would dislike it because of that and feel that it was unsatisfaying. Regardless, it still compensates by being a quick read (not verbose dialogue, tons of action) and still enjoyable enough so it isnt boring (being boring is a number 1 major cardinal sin in my book). As it is, it would have been way better if it maintained what it had going for it in the initial arcs. Those ones contain the best aspects of gantz. As a whole it isnt bad at all though, there arent many manga like gantz.
One of the main appeals of Gantz, which unfortunately isnt replicated in a charming well put together cohesive way in most manga is how fresh it unapologetically presents what happens with the characters and those that inhabit the setting of it while keeping up with the "rule of cool" intentionality behind the action, though it still plays safe, i confess i wanted it to be WAY more "twisted" and also "grim" in some parts and totality, but for most readers it will be enough of that (the mix of horror, gore and depiction of people in Gantz more than make people for the imperfections present as it approaches the finale). Honestly, if it kept up the edge it had in the initial arcs and the MC got the opposite of the progression he had for longer (progression which many like for it to have been that way, even if it wasnt such a stricking change) it would have retained its uniqueness more. It had a massive potential to be way better than it actually came to be, even if it is already pretty damm good. One characteristic of it that i love is how it always maintain a pace of something always happening, it embodies the action of the story well. During the course of it, Gantz has tons of scenes that when looking back at them or remembering always stick out for how charming they are, be those scenes actions pannels or interactions between characters. I love how people are represented in this manga, it is pretty realistic and convey really well random nobodies being thrown into a situation of despair and panicking, or just people being people in their own dumb humane way of reacting. It feels satisfaying to see it unfolding despite its shortcomings and flaws.
The art is good and has a lot of personality, greatly enhancing the atmosphere of the world and the already mentioned good design of the foes the characters face. Some pannels are funny too and are enjoyable to watch. The flow of the pannel and text makes it a quick read, so despite the number of chapters it passes by rather quick so it is not as long as it seems to be. One flaw of the art, however, is that it can sometimes be messy and too abundant of photorealistic details that sometimes mash together in a way that makes it hard to figure out what is happening with ease, in physical format it may look better to follow compared to the digital means (the one i did read it from), but the 3D models still can be bad to see, especially in the final arc (already complained here). So the art is not flawless but above average and better than most manga.
All in all, it is a manga that though could have been way better with some major tweaks to the approach it took as it progressed further to the ending, as the final arc is indeed much inferior to the rest, though it still remains being a memorable manga that is indeed a very good recomendation.

The fourth season of Overlord manages to capture some of the charm that made the first season better than the second and third one. Overlord, first and foremost, is a series conscious about the fact that it is slow and that there are no stakes, especially after S1. I liked when it had the stakes of threat to nazarick and Aiinz´s servants and kingdom, it made the mystery and intrigue interesting since he didnt knew the land and the possibility of someone as powerful as Aiinz existed, which culminated in his fight against the manipulated shalltear at the end and then closed the season with
...
this suspense of who has the world item that could rival aiinz. So basically, the S1 had 3 things that i enjoyed the most going on for them: The funny interactions between the members of nazarick (the comedy and humor of aiinz and his servants of the tomb), the comedy of his OP nature and the looming suspense of threat about the unknown of the land and the mysterious character that could pose a threat to aainz.
Then, in the next two seasons, this suspense was gone and forgotten (the threat of the character that used the world item ignored totally), but the comedy of the OP nature of the nazarick party and aainz remained along with the comedy between their interactions, but a new element that was forming in S1 appeared: The focus on side characters. A lot of viewers loved it but i didnt... i got really bored of them for the most part and the more it deviated from the humorous tone and focus on the party that there was in S1, the more i disliked it, so S2 and S3, while still nice parts of the anime with each having good moments, it felt really unsatisfaying as a whole. Aiinz did conquest between the seasons but the focus was much less on him and his crew. The show focused mostly on the political administration of other places and the drama between other characters, which i really didnt care at all.
Then S4 comes and manages to be better than the previous two seasons, managing to combine the humorous tone of S1 to the slow, zero stakes nature of S2-S3 and forming a new identity to itself. In S4, the animation is pleasant to see (way more than previously), there is more screentime for the nazarick crew and their moments with aiinz, the OP nature of Aainz is more focused upon once again in its display and the side characters´s intrigues this time are less dull than the previous ones. The show is still slow, with zero stakes and focused on aainz just doing administrative, political arrangements but more enjoyable than before due to the lack of exagerated focus on side characters and stories and more closely tied to aainz. The "evil"-ness of aainz is more pronounced here, especially at the ending chapter, though not the focus. It is still inferior to the engaging plot of the first season that mashed all the elements together to form a story with more flow to it, but i genuinely think that the S4 of Overlord managed to be a good example of some sort of relaxed administrative slice of life about aainz just doing his stuff nonchalantly. Overall, S4 managed to do the intent of the show better than the previous two seasons, though for some it didnt because they prefered the side characters over aainz and his crew, which for me is the opposite and is why i consider this season to be the second best. Even the very small side plot of the guy into Albedo was more enjoyable than any of the side drama of s2-s3, while the tension of the main kingdom under turmoil and risk was better than before. Still, it is a relaxing chill watch that improves upon the previous 2 seasons. Some can easily consider like it and consider it way better for sure, though some may be not into this type of relaxing nor enjoy that.
