This OVA was released as the 12th episode of the Hello Kitty TV series Hello Kitty's Animation Theater. This time Kitty finds herself in the role of Thumbelina from the fairy tale written by Hans Christian Andersen.

The story begins with a woman who wanted more than anything to have a child, and her wish will soon come true! After eight days, Thumbelina comes into the world because of her mother's love. The situation seems idyllic until one day...

This is another interesting Kitty as main character of a fairy tale produced by Sanrio. In addition to Thumbelina and her mother, characters from various animals appear: frogs, ... mice, moles, one brave bird, magical creatures, etc....

The animation looks great in HD while the music is okay.

Thumbelina's journey in the story is well presented and there is a possible feeling that viewer want the main character to get out of some danger as soon as possible. I would have liked the ending to be a little different, at least with a brief appearance of one character, but original ending of the fairy tale is not very different from this OVA.

Kitty and Mimmy have a birthday! This 11-minute short OVA is produced by Sanrio.

The story takes place one morning when Kitty and Mimmy's mother sends her twin daughters to collect yellow strawberries! It's a very delicious variety of strawberries and the main characters' mother needs them for the cakes they're making for their birthday.

The sisters go outside and occasionally meet their friends who seem too busy and as if they forgot about their birthday! It seems that they will have to go in search of yellow strawberries alone, will they be able to find them and what will happen then!?

A little interesting fact is that ... their birthday is November 1st!

This OVA features many other Sanrio characters who look interesting, but due to their number and the brevity of the animation, there is a feeling that sometimes they are there more for their own introduction than for participating in the plot. The music is unnoticeable while the appearance of the animation is average.

The plot quickly becomes predictable, if you are interested in maybe another anime where these two characters have a birthday you can check out the OVA Kitty to Mimmy no Atarashii Kasa which may be more interesting than this one.

This OVA is not a must watch but you might be interested if you like watching Hello Kitty and Sanrio.

Hello Kitty as Cinderella! This film is an episode of the Sanrio World Masterpiece Cinema series that ran from 1989 to 1994 and contains 80 OVAs. In the West, it is one of 28 translated OVAs that appear under the title Hello Kitty and Friends. The anime is one of many appearances in which Hello Kitty serves as a fairy tale retelling character.

This version of Cinderella is very similar to what one might think of when thinking of the fairy tale itself, a fairly classic retelling without any twists or surprises. A girl named Cinderella, without parents, lives with her two evil stepsisters and an ... equally evil stepmother. One day, a ball is held in the kingdom to which all the girls in the kingdom are invited so that the young prince can find his true love, marry her, and one day become king.

The evil stepsisters and stepmother deliberately leave Cinderella at home so that she can do the housework. Suddenly, a good fairy arrives and offers Cinderella help.

She will be able to attend the dance but she has to get home by midnight because the magic that made her new ball gown and beautiful carriage as an escort will disappear. But will she get home on time and what will happen after that!? This is a short summary of the famous fairy tale

Hello Kitty is very cool and fits the character of Cinderella well, especially when she starts company and communicates with small animals, and her kindness is well shown.

Her evil stepsisters make her life difficult every day and her stepmother approves of such behavior and even plans to marry the prince herself if one of her daughters fails.

The prince is called Steven and he is interesting, he is the prototype of the character Dear Daniel who was created as Hello Kitty's boyfriend. In addition to him, there are the characters of the king and queen who want their son to find true love as soon as possible, a fairy who is very helpful and Steven's page Maxwell.

The graphics are quite good although the colors could be at least a little better if they were brighter, there is not much music, but the opening song of Hello Kitty and Friends stands out.

This OVA should not be confused with the other two portrayals of Hello Kitty as Cinderella: Cinderkitty is the name of the Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theater episode and the Cinderella episode from Hello Kitty's Animation Theater.

I think the best scene is Cinderella's departure after the clock strikes midnight. I'm glad the prince character got a lot of time, while I find the lack of Mimmy White, Kitty's twin sister, a minus; I wish she had had a role or at least a cameo.

This OVA is a good one if you like Hello Kitty and the Cinderella story!

This is an unusual anime called Ooedo Torimonochou: Nezumi Kozou. Translated into English - Big Edo Detective Story: Nezumikozou.

It is a period in Japan, a period that lasted between 1600 or 1603 and 1868, it was an era of peace, prosperity and isolation. Edo was the old name for Tokyo and it is where the plot of the anime takes place as it says in the title.

The plot is about the kidnapping of a girl named Okiku who is a friend of the main character named Chukichi whose goal is to save her and he does not waste ... time and does his best to succeed, an exciting quest begins with an unexpected ending at the end.

The main character Chukichi has a secret! He sometimes turns from an ordinary boy into an avenger named Nezumikozou, a folk hero similar to Robin Hood who protects the weak from the strong by eating tri-colored dango 🍡 (a Japanese dessert). He was created after a real historical figure named Nezumi Kozō who was really a kind of hero and a thief in the Edo period!

Chukichi turns from a usually tearful and shy boy into a real hero. He first debuted in 1984.

Okiku is a popular girl in the neighborhood and Chukichi's best friend who he is secretly in love with. She is strong and clever, their relationship in the episode is not well explored.

Koban Cat 🐈 - our MC's very helpful helper looks very wise and pragmatic, he is named after the currency of money from the Edo period.

The mysterious Okiku's kidnappers also appear, whose center is located in an interesting location.

We should not forget a few of the same Sanrio characters that appear in cameo roles: Hello Kitty, Pokopon, Hangyodon, Taabo...

The animation is not of the best quality, it looks like it was done in a hurry and is one of the worse parts of the anime.

The music is quite generic and would have been better if the anime had been made in the 70s, there is no catchy or exciting melody.

This episode is only about 11 minutes long and the action is fast. I liked the part the most when one of the characters is in custody and suddenly a riddle appears, I think it is very cool and presents a small challenge to guess it.

The anime is not necessary to watch, but if you want to see something quickly, it is fine.

This is the first OVA of one of the most popular anime characters, perhaps one of the most famous characters in pop culture! Hello Kitty or the real Kitty White named Kitty White is the work of Japanese designer Yuko Shimizu, owned by the Sanrio company. She was created in 1974 and was introduced a year later.

The story begins one rainy autumn day while Kitty and her twin sister Mimmy stay at home and are a little bored with theirs and their mom has to go to the store. The second half of the episode takes place the next day in nature, most of the ... time in a nearby forest.

Kitty wears a red scarf while Kitty wears a yellow one, they seem to behave exactly the same, but Kitty is braver and more daring while Mimmy is more timid and shy. This one lasts a standard 24 minutes and is just the beginning of these characters' independent appearances, so viewers cannot really notice their differences in personalities, they can be reminded of the characters of Super Mario from the video game of the same name and his brother Luigi. Mom doesn't have much screen time but she seems very caring and kind to her daughters, the father probably doesn't appear because he's at work. There are some other characters but due to possible spoilers they will be left out of the review.

Perhaps the most interesting part of this one is that it is made in stop motion animation which looks very good, it will probably be liked by many who like animation like in the cartoon Pingu, the storm scenes are especially well animated and the animation that sometimes shows clouds looks dreamy as if the action is taking place while the characters are sleeping. The lighting is appropriate and effective.

The sound is okay as are the songs although the song that takes place in the middle of the video is below average quality, the characters that appear in the scene remind like something that would be seen in the anime Maya the Honey Bee. Another interesting fact is that this video was watched on YouTube and the translator had a hard time translating the song so they didn't even do it, they even addressed the viewers directly!

The best parts for me are the ones that take place at the beginning and the ending which is fitting and somehow sweet while I find the middle worse.

This is a good anime to watch on a rainy day and could be unexpectedly fun just like the time spent by the main characters.
