A three part OVA series introducing three main characters who will have a prominent role for the film "Bungaku Shoujo". First we have our literature girl, Tooko. She loves literature to the point she literally eats words. So yeah very into books I guess. Next we have Kotobuki Nanase, who has feelings for the main protagonist. However she doesn't know how to get her feelings through to him. Finally there's Asakura Miu, who is deeply in love with the main protagonist. However she is very possessive to the point of self-destruction. As for the main protagonist, we don't fully see him until the movie, that ... follows the full story for these introduced characters. There are few glimpses of him here and there, but that's about it. The animation is beautiful with the colourful backrounds, but character designs are a little too angular and inconsistent at times. As as whole it's difficult to figure these characters out, cause episode 2 and 3 have delayed subtitles. That said, just watch the movie if you don't want to waste time figuring out the plot or character motives.

After reading this manga for the second time, I noticed just how cliched it is. The characters are mostly tropes you see in anime all the time. And the story… not that good. It isn't anything special. It's a kind of a story you've heard of a thousand times. Gloomy main protagonist is looking for a purpose in life. Girls feel attracted to him despite having little to no personality. Side characters are just there not adding much to the story. Art style is decent, at least character vise, however the battle scenes were drawn in a rushed manner. One difference I could find from ... this manga, is who the main protaginist hooks up with. Since the manga and the anime are based of the visual novel with multiple routes, this is the Misuzu's route. (Since she is a strong independent leader, there is very little flaws to balance her out other than her being distant. She is badass sure, but other than that there's not much else. So her hooking up with an edgelord protagonist, the dynamic isn't all that rivetting. Instead I recommend playing the visual novel or check out the anime.)
