A simple premise, simple story loop, simple art. Maybe food + heteromance combination does hit different after your friend does a yurithon.
Simple but memorable. I learned in my software engineering class that Python's design philosophy, "simple is better than complex", and that statement is true here. The main characters are joyful and have character, and even if 90% of the story only contains the main couple, the lighthearted stories entertain plenty.
The main loop of cook food -> eat food -> enjoy married life is enjoyable and the art displays the food incredibly well, enticing even my fatass to touch grass and learn to cook.

Oshi no Ko has been one of the most popular manga series, and there's a clear reason to the hype. Unfortunately, as the manga concludes, the drop in quality cannot be ignored.
The start is immaculate, it keeps you hooked into the plot craving for more. I ended up catching up 140 chapters a day before a math exam (still got 87%) due to its immersion (or perhaps my priorities were not set correctly). Characters are charming, with memorable personailities and traits which differentiate them from other stereotypical archetypes of manga, however some characters seem to not receive as much depth and attention despite their roles ... |
