When I first saw the anime, I thought it was just a simple story of two boys and their adventures as they go around the world conquering dungeons and fighting monsters. But very soon I came to realize how wrong I was. This story is much more than just that and rather the major part of the story is centered around complex political intricacies. ITS NOT AN ANIME, ITS A WORK OF ART!
Rewatching this really hits differently when you have already started working. It was already one of my favorite slice of life anime but now I can proudly remove that "one of" from there. Our protagonist is a 23-year-old calligraphy writer Handa Seishu who is, lets just say, a "little" impulsive. The story is about how Handa moves to a village hoping to obtain some inspiration for his calligraphy and how he grows through his interactions with these people in the countryside. So another long running shounen comes to an end.
"The power of friendship rules all" - Mashima seems to have taken this line quite seriously. When I first watched the fairy tail anime, I found it very enjoyable. This was amongst my first 5-10 animes so I might be a little biased about it so I didn't get all the hate against FT. So what if characters dont die, so what if they use a little "Nakama power". For me, it was really fun to watch. Upto the tartorus arc, it was brilliant. Characters may have seemed to always win but it was nothing too ridiculus. The buildup ... |
