Totsuzen☆Parallel! is a short and charming shoujo story that blends everyday school life with a gentle yet charming touch of magic. Nanako, a sweet and soft-hearted girl, finds her quiet world unexpectedly shaken when a parallel version of herself appears. Woohoo! And you would not guess what kind of parallel version!
The presence of adorable animals and the light, dreamy magical elements make the story feel like a warm ribbon of pastel sparkles, wrapping you in 90s nostalgia and softness. In my opinion, this manga is pure 90s shoujo sweetness. It has that perfect retro feeling with soft line art, expressive eyes, gentle romantic tension,
...
and a peaceful pacing you don’t often see in modern works. Considering it’s a single-volume story, it manages to be surprisingly complete: the emotional arc works, the characters are memorable, and the message settles nicely without feeling rushed. It’s the kind of manga you curl up with on a quiet evening, just to let your heart melt a little.
The core theme, which is learning to love and accept yourself, is uplifting and wonderfully tender. Nanako herself is simply adorable: shy, kind, and sincere, the type of heroine you just want to cheer for. The art is full of atmosphere: delicate, sparkly, and charming in that unmistakable shoujo way. Totsuzen☆Parallel! leaves a sweet aftertaste, like a piece of candy that dissolves slowly and lovingly.

Mugen Densetsu Takamagahara is a manga that carries the unmistakable glow of classic shoujo storytelling with cute creatures and charming art, something warm, dreamy, and slightly nostalgic even from the very first pages. The art style clearly reflects the golden age of 90s shoujo. It’s the kind of visual expression that holds both innocence and drama within the same frame.
I grew up with this manga, so returning to it always feels like stepping back into a gentle daydream. The world of Takamagahara is rich with myth and legend, and the narrative feels both magical and strangely familiar. The story balances adventure with romance, and even

though it introduces many characters, each of them has a distinct, memorable personality.
The small, sweet creatures and guardian-like companions bring a soft, comforting charm to the more intense moments. That’s my favorite part of this manga - the gentle beings, the beautiful and lovable Binga, and the way the story emphasizes the importance of nature: the sun, the world(s), animals, trees, and the bond Yuuki shares with them. The manga carries a positive message at its core, and even when the story touches on heavier emotions or conflict, it never loses its gentle heart. There is no cynicism here, only wonder, imagination, and a belief in the meaningful connections we form with both people and the other beings we encounter along the way.

Emma is a historical romance manga set in Victorian England, notable for its attention to period detail and its gentle, subdued atmosphere. Approaching this series with relatively high expectations, I found myself appreciating many elements while also, due to these high expectations, I was not fully happy with the outcome.
One of the manga’s strongest qualities is its immersive setting. Kaoru Mori clearly put significant effort into capturing the nuances of Victorian society, for me it was mostly and clothing what left me in awe—which provides a rich backdrop for the developing romance.
The characters are sympathetically written, and their emotions, while often subtle, feel genuine.
...
The pacing can sometimes feel uneven. At times the story progresses too slowly, with certain sections dragging without significant development. Conversely, the main storyline seems abruptly compressed toward the end, particularly due to the final three volumes shifting to side stories. Thiis decision left me with the sense that the conclusion was cut short and felt rushed.
The artwork seemed like it evolved over the course of the series. While the early volumes may not align with every reader’s aesthetic preferences, as it didnt with mine, Mart becomes increasingly confident and expressive by the later chapters, enhancing the reading experience.
Overall, Emma is an enjoyable and worthwhile read, especially for fans of period romance and character-driven stories. However, while it is charming and skillfully crafted in many ways, it falls just short of being a standout work in the genre. It’s a solid, pleasant manga—but for me, it lacked that intangible spark, that emotional resonance or narrative boldness that would have made it truly exceptional.

Even though the manga is pretty short, it's actually very good for someone who likes classic shoujo and/or mahou shoujo. This manga has a lot of cute and funny moments that can brighten your day and make you smile if you are a slow reader that reads each panel and not just slides through the images, as then, it would be nothing special. But what's charming is that there are definitely a lot of shoujo-style jokes in the background, silly faces, all packed with magical and girly cute themes. I definitely recommend it to all mahou shoujo enjoyers!
Characters are much more relatable than in

the original series, although might feel less canonic. They surely changed a lot, so I would say that this would be best suited not for actual fans of the original, but for fans of the wholesome magical themed shoujo mangas. Manga itself has more of this vibe than the original Powerpuffs. But it's deffinitely cute and relaxing, for me, there is never enough magical girls themes, even if they are similar, what is great about such series is that they can heal a heart and give aspirations to be kind and magical! At least for me. But I know the magical girls lovers club is rather big. So yes, I am talking to you, mahou shoujo enjoyers! Please give it a try. Even if you have watched the anime as the vibe is quite different, manga is much more in a classic shoujo vibe, I won't give my review of this anime here, however, it hits just different.
