I see, I am not that into Manhwa series, so I will tell you if I decide to read Tears on a Withered Flower.
I still cannot forget how I watched Romantic Killer thinking it was Love of Kill hahaha.
I have heard so many people talking about Nana in that way, like, it portrayed the toxicity of adult relationships way too well. I know Takumi is one of the most hated characters in anime history.
I watched something, let's say, a bit similar to Nana, written by the same author, actually: Paradise Kiss. I didn't know what I was getting into, but I decided to give it a try as it was one of those anime I knew for years but never watched. It was good but dark, especially a revelation at the end of the season regarding the relationship between Miwako and Arashi.
I read the studio omitted quite a lot of story, and it is weird considering the manga ended before the anime even aired.
Yes, the orange-haired guy's name was Kazuki. You know, I feel this is a new one regarding romance anime, as I feel Anzu won't end with anyone; she was really not interested in romance and was happy with the way her life was. I feel she may be aromantic.
Let me start by saying: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful celebration and a splendid 2026!
Interesting, is it one of those relationships where both characters, Cain and his butler, had such a close relationship that it can lead to interpretations that they may have feelings for each other? I honestly like those. I know people at times hate that uncertainty, but I like it at times. Plus, I am sure aristocrats all around the world and in different ages have been hiding mysterious accidents.
I want to ask, how much younger is the mafia man in Tears on a Withered Flower? I don't like it when the age gap is huge, especially when one of them is underage. I haven't read Watashi no Shounen, but I still cannot believe how people shipped that 30-year-old woman and that 12-year-old kid.
Koroshi Ai calls my attention quite a bit, so I may watch it in the future. I cannot lie, I am so interested in watching Nana, I am sure it is going to be so toxic, and I like that at times, hahaha. I hate cheating as well, so I am sure it will make me angry; I mean, if a series makes you feel sad, angry, and depressed, then it has a lot of potential. Still, the fact that it is in an indefinite hiatus is discouraging me. I would hate to read or watch something that may never be finished and be left there without an ending.
I don't want to enter into spoiler territory; there are romantic interests, but the female lead isn't interested in the slightest. I don't know if I said it, but Romantic Killer feels like a deconstruction of the romance genre; it is quite interesting.
That explanation of Suzume sounds quite magical. I am not a fan of watching movies, but I may give it a try. I mean, who doesn't want the world to be meaningful and colorful again for some minutes? I understood every word you said, and I think I will watch it.
I looked up the MAL page of God Child, and it looks quite interesting; is it really a BL? I have zero issues if that is the case, but I know older series tend to be more implicit.
I don't have issues with spicy BL, but I must say I am not that comfortable with BL Manhwa; I have tried to read some that look interesting, have nothing wrong with the summary, and they show a lot of rape and harassment.
Yeah, Misato was so messed up. I cannot think of any case where a functional adult would kiss a minor to encourage them. Evangelion was indeed weird at times, not confusing, but weird; I mean, the best example will always be Shinji's hospital scene. I cannot see a single reason why they added that scene.
By the way, I noticed you are planning to watch Koroshi Ai, which made me remember I accidentally watched Romantic Killer on Netflix, thinking it was Love of Kill (Koroshi Ai) hahaha; the names were a bit similar, so I confused the shows. Still, it was a happy accident as Romantic Killer was really enjoyable and different.
That has happened to me as well, especially when writing replies - I have realized my mistakes in spelling right after sending them. I am less self-conscious about grammar mistakes as I am no expert.
I don't tend to watch anime movies, to be honest; I prefer series, despite the length, to watching movies. What can you tell me about Suzume?
It's nice to hear that; the main male characters in Yakuza's Fiancé seem to be really crazy in their ways, but I liked the strong female leads, so I may give the anime and manga a chance someday.
I don't remember the last time I read a dark manga. I think I am going to read Blame, as it caught my attention some time ago. Which have been your favorites? I know you recommended me Shounen Zanzou, but what else has been on your list?
You know, I always hated that people called Shinji a crybaby; he lost his mom, was abandoned by his dad, he doesn't have anyone to rely on, is constantly mistreated by the people he is "close to", and daily fights against giant eldritch monsters - what do people want from him? Regarding the other children, while Asuka isn't my favorite, what Arael did to her would have traumatized anyone, and I felt so bad for Rei when she was possessed and killed by Armisael.
The final episodes were indeed confusing; no wonder they needed to produce The End of Evangelion to give some clarity, and even the ending was a bit confusing. Still, despite that hospital scene and Misato kissing Shinji, the movie was solid. I like that they didn't write a happy ending.
Really? Did they omit too many details or chapters in the adaptation? I did read some comments from manga readers claiming the manga of Yakuza Fiancé was better than its anime. While I honestly don't have many intentions of watching it, I do like strong female leads who are not scared of doing what they want.
Don't worry about spoilers, I don't mind them at all; honestly, at times I do appreciate series more when I know some details, and when I reach the moment of the spoiler, it's like I can appreciate why it was so important even more.
Back to 7th Time Loop, I am honestly interested in this; I already saved it up on my list outside of MAL of anime series I want to watch and manga I want to read. I like how the princess learn and grows stronger in each loop, which shows how intelligent she is. The prince sounds like a really awful character, who I am sure will either change because of her or was never so bad to begin with, but those are details, hahaha.
I can understand what you mean. It can be a bit slow, that's for sure, but the story and designs are so compelling that you just want to keep reading. I think the manga has entered its climax, with only two plots that need to be completed. Still, if you don't want to read it, no pressure. I really laughed when someone said this was "Apology", the manga series, because everyone is apologizing every time, hahaha.
I read the plot, and Boy's Next Door does sound like a dark manga; the cover looks so good, though, like you can sense how brutal it will be.
I know about Killing Stalking, I think I read a chapter out of curiosity, but the leads were too unlikeable. Like, Sang-Woo is so messed up, and I didn't go past chapter 1; back in the day, KS was everywhere, so I didn't need to read it to know how crazy he was, and crazy is even too short to describe him.
Forgive me for asking, as I don't remember it very well, but what was Suzuki? Was it an anime movie? I tried to look it up, but I couldn't find it. It wasn't Suzume?
Yes, I watched Evangelion some years ago, I think during the COVID Lockdown, which gave me some extra time to watch more anime. I remember a lot about the anime, but not the specific numbers; I think the moment things started to go crazy was during a vision where there were a lot of Rei's standing in line. It was a great anime, and the subsequent movies are also wonderful.
If you want to talk about it, feel free to send whatever episode, moment, or character you want to talk about.
I wonder if that story is set in an alternate universe where Atsushi was found by the Port Mafia and grew up with Dazai, while Akutagawa grew up in the Armed Detective Agency. I want to buy the Light Novel, as it is said that it is the timeline where Dazai has his wish come true. Aside from that, he is truly a complex character, a brilliant man who is way too traumatized.
I agree, it's funny and cute when Akutagawa tries so hard for Dazai to praise him.
I didn't have many issues with the animation of A Condition Called Love, but Hananoi is way too weird. That scene where the anime added a fluffly background and cute OST while he was having an inner monologue where he wanted Hotaru to stop talking and caring for her family and friends, and only care for him, was so dark. I think it was explained in the manga in more detail how his parents' absence messed him up, but I am not so sure.
Another anime I consider bad and creepy has to be Anyways, I'm Falling in Love With You; it follows way too many outdated tropes, such as force kissing. It is the kind of story where you end up thinking that if the female lead ends up single, she wins.
How much different is the anime of Yakuza Fiancé: Raise wa Tanin ga Ii from the manga? I read several comments saying the anime ruined the adaptation and stuff like that. I never heard of 7th Time Loop. What makes it so special? Feel free to add spoilers if you want; I don't mind them.
Are you reading the manga of Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku? The manga entered a very interesting arc right now that seems to explore where the rivalry with the schools comes from.
I used to read a lot of BL as well; I still do from time to time, but I've been a bit lazy. I usually prefer BL manga over BL Manhwa since the latter tends to be a bit darker.
Don't worry, it doesn't matter if people think of it as a cliche; if you enjoy it, that is all that matters. The only anime I remember rewatching a lot of times, way before I started watching anime and keeping track on MAL, was Digimon; I watched during that period of time when everything used to be on YouTube, separated into small videos, hahaha.
I will watch Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood one day. I know I am going to enjoy it a lot, but I haven't had the time. What is Suzuki about?
Samurai Champloo is also on my list; I have read that it is perfect from beginning to end.
I enjoyed the final seasons as well; the first ending used, "Shock," is one of my favorite songs from the series.
I like Levi a lot as well. He is one of the best characters ever, and in action, he is a full army; Hange grew on me almost immediately, and I still feel sour over their last stand.
I agree, every character in Bungou Stray Dogs is special; out of curiosity, I read No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai, and I realized the character was way darker than I initially thought. I swear, during the latest season, I thought everything was over for the Armed Detective Agency; that season was like, I don't know how many Dazai's plans I can take hahaha.
I also enjoy, from time to time, watching or reading fluffy stories where characters are kind to each other. One of my favorites was Will You Marry Me Again If You Are Reborn, and now Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku is one of my favorites as well.
Do you think A Condition Called Love could be called cute? I mean, the female main character is sweet and shy, but his main suitor is quite something. I am not trying to be judgmental, I am just curious.
I enjoy watching romance anime, whether it is normal or BL, I don't care, I enjoy them all. I also like a lot of Sports and Shounen anime. I know Shounen at times may be too repetitive, but if it is enjoyable, then I don't have any issues.
A single favorite anime is a bit hard to answer, hahaha; aside from my top 10, there are a lot of series I would love to add, but the space is too limited. But, if I had to choose one, maybe Summer Wars; I watched the movie a lot when I was a kid, and I really loved it. To this day, I wish for a sequel hahaha.
What about you?
Hello, nice to meet you, thanks for accepting my friend request :)
How have you been?
I love your profile picture and profile in general; it looks really beautiful.
Those two seasons of Shingeki no Kyojin were splendid and so memorable. I still remember when Hange appeared out of nowhere, and when Armin transformed in Marley was also amazing.
Bungou Stray Dogs is such a great series. The Agency is one of my favorite groups in anime. Dazai and Atsushi are a great duo.
