I'll write this assuming you've read the original Tokyo Ghoul manga, which if you haven't I highly recommend you do.
This manga is really great. When I first read TG:re, I wasn't fully able to appreciate all the details, but now that I've re-read it, it is great. I still slightly prefer the original manga, but this is still great. The story and plot are actually more interesting here in my opinion, there's a lot more lore regarding the CCG. We basically switch sides, as Kaneki is now Haise Sasaki, a CCG investigator. Kaneki's writing and development remains incredible as it was in TG. The side
...
characters from TG are kinda off stage for the first half of this story, but gradually reincorporated.
The art is great overall, but there are some action scenes which are hard to follow. Not bad by any means, but a slight complaint as compared to the first part. I also think that towards the end, it's a little rushed. The ending itself is beautiful, but I think the road to get there could have been better. There were plotlines developed which we did not get a payoff for. But overall, the experience of reading this whole manga was overall amazing, definitely recommend you read the whole thing.

Bluntly put, Tokyo Ghoul is an amazing manga. I finished :re around 2 months ago and 2 weeks back I decided to re-read everything again, which no other series has made me do in that short a time. I thoroughly enjoyed this manga for a lot of reasons. I highly recommend this manga for anyone who likes a thrilling and tragic story that keeps you on your toes.
Firstly, the art is incredible. Even early on I think the art was of great quality, and kept getting better with time. Some panels gave me chills just by looking at them. The action is drawn very well
...
and the detail on all the Kagune is incredible. Sui Ishida was low-key just flexing his skill with the pen while happening to create an amazing story.
Speaking of which, the story is also great. I think the story and plot are even greater in :re (the sequal series which you have to read after this), but here while the story is less layered and simpler overall, it works well.
The characters are all very interesting, each of their struggles and traits highlighted very well. It is so easy to get attached to them. The main character himself, Ken Kaneki, is probably a top 5 protagonist for me in all of fiction. His development is incredible to watch unfold.
Probably the only thing I don't absolutely adore about this series is the premise. Basically, it's the normal world, but there are creatures called ghouls who can eat literally only humans- awfully inconvenient. It's not terrible at all, but it's just not that interesting compared to so many other manga. There is, however, a silver lining to this could- Ken Kaneki is a human who becomes a ghoul. He thus serves as an absolutely perfect character through whose eyes we can view this cruel, twisted world.
I like how this manga ends on a cliffhanger of sorts while ending the current plotline, leaving us wanting more. If you've watched the anime already, read it anyway as firstly there's a lot the first season leaves out from here and moreover, season 2 is an entirely different story and not developed anywhere near as well as the manga. If you haven't watched it, DO NOT, just read the superior manga. It's also good to reread as there's details the author planned early on and they pay off in :re. Thoroughly enjoyed reading and re-reading this manga, highly recommend.

If you've read Naruto and you haven't read Boruto, I... can't really blame you. The first part of Boruto, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, was not ver good, just ok. However, if you really liked Naruto, I'd recommend reading the first part of Boruto for two reasons. First, it's a very short read, you can easily binge it in one day and while it starts of pretty bad, it does get better and ends on a strong note. The second reason is that so far, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has been INCREDIBLY GOOD.
From the first chapter till date, this shit does not hit the breaks, it's
...
hype after hype and the pacing is really good. Even the story is interesting, the antagonists are very interesting concepts for characters. I wouldn't describe this series as very innovative, but it has certainly been very enjoyable. The character development and powerups have been cool.
I do have some criticisms though. First, same as Boruto NNG, the art is mid as hell. That can be a put-off for people who came to read Boruto after reading Naruto, as the artist is different and is actually the long-time assistant of Kishimoto, the artist behind Naruto.
While the road to get here (the first part of Boruto) was rough, I think it was worth it to get to the greatness of this manga. And if you've read the first part of Boruto and haven't read this, better get on this.

One punch man is a manga I would highly recommend to pretty much anyone. It is definitely one of the easiest manga to follow, and I mean that in the best of ways.
One's writing style is so perfect and the comedy works really well in the story. However, what really stands out about this series is the art. Holy shit, Murata Yusuke is a God with ts. Some panels will just leave you gaping, your jaw on the floor, with how insane they are in terms of detail and perfection. This may even be my favorite manga in terms of art, rivaling even my
...
favorite manga of all time, Berserk. Even if you don't care for the story, it's worth reading just for the art. I don't exaggerate when I say that there are panels which are worthy of being hung in the Louvre, and they come from a series about a bald guy who can take out monsters in one punch.
However, it would be wrong to neglect the story and characters. While Saitama appears simple, there is more to learn from him about perfection being the thief of joy. The side characters really shine, each character written and developed well. The story also evolves and expands in scale very well. The plot is not one that blows you away with depth like Attack on Titan, but it is effective in entertaining you.
All in all, this is a great series and 100% worth reading.

Naruto was my third ever anime. This is basically a direct continuation of the ending of the Naruto Manga (hence the chapters are also numbered 700 + 1, 700 + 2, etc.). This is not a particularly great story. However, it is good and certainly worth reading if you like Naruto. The character writing of 11 year old Sarada is great. The action is as good as ever, as is the art by Kishimoto. The story isn't particularly unique or unpredictable, but enjoyable nonetheless. Chocho provides comedic relief here and there. The character writing stays consistent. We also got some more lore for Naruto's manga
...
regarding the origin of Danzo's arm. I think most people who read Naruto, myself included, didn't like how Sasuke ended up with Sakura, and while my feelings regarding that matter are still largely mixed, I think this short story made it a bit more believable. Overall, this is an enjoyable read

"Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" to me is a story that just keeps getting better. This is not, however meant as a compliment.
My biggest complaint with the series has always been the massive downgrade in the quality of the art from the original Naruto manga. Again, the art does get a little better over time, but it is still nowhere near the quality of its predecessor.
Now, the story. I can't lie, I really, really don't like the first arc. To me, it's just blatant character assassination of Naruto. It defies logic. It makes NO sense that Naruto would not be able to spend time with
...
his family because his main Jutsu, the Shadow Clone Jutsu, HELPS WITH THAT PERFECTLY. He isn't that stupid that he wouldn't know of that possibility. I understand that it is supposed to set up Boruto's character as this spoiled brat of sorts, but I don't like the execution. Moreover, in the same arc, I have a problem with the ending of the fight against Momoshiki. I understand that the Manga is named after Boruto, but that doesn't excuse the plot hole that is Dr. Katasuke just being there. It is brushed off as "Oh he must have snuck in" BUT HOW?? It makes no sense that he "snuck in" through the Rinnegan portal for more reasons than countable.
Next, we have the Mujina bandits arc. To me it's just boring honestly. The villain is the worst in the history of Naruto as a franchise. All this arc achieves is setting up Kara.
We then move on to the Ao arc. I didn't really care for the decision to bring Ao back in to the story as a villain. Him being who he was adds nothing really to the story. The fight against him is fine, but again, not on the level of the original series.
Thus, we are introduced to by far, my favourite part of the series- Kawaki. Kawaki is a character who is written really well. His backstory, development and character writing are all beautiful. However, I do have some issues with this arc, particularly in the end. Isshiki seems to be sold on the idea that he will come back without a shadow of a doubt if he implants Kawaki with a Karma, ignoring the simple solution that Kawaki could just be killed, ending any chance of return. But I do love the Baryon mode fight against Isshiki. All in all, it's a good arc that is far better than all that preceded it.
We now enter the best part of the series- The Code Arc. Code as a character, however, is pathetic and terribly written. There is not a single thing that makes him entertaining or compelling as a villain. His limiters being removed is treated as this big threat, and yet, the chapter after this happens, he gets his ass handed to him by a kid. There is nothing charismatic about him. However, every other aspect of this arc is incredible. Kawaki killing Boruto was a great moment which set up what happens later. The last 6 or so chapters are masterpieces and provide a perfect ending to this first part of the series.
I also wanted to talk about what disappointed me the most about the series- the villains. They are just so one-dimensional compared to the villains of Naruto and all seem to have the same motive, which makes it hard to distinguish between them.
Overall, Boruto is a series that is worth reading if you love Naruto and want more of it. However, I don't believe it is a series that if you avoided, you would be missing out on anything.

To put it succinctly, Berserk is an absolute masterpiece. It is possible my favorite piece of fiction ever made, and definitely my favorite among all anime and manga. It is perhaps the only piece of fiction which I would award such praise to despite not having an ending. Every last thing (apart from perhaps the inconsistencies between the Black Swordsman Arc and the rest of the story in terms of Guts' character) is perfect and beautiful. The character development of Guts throughout the story, from the Golden Age to the last panel drawn by Miura, is fascinating and so believable. Guts is also my favourite
...
character in all of manga and anime. Not just because of what a badass he was, but also because of how he is genuinely flawed on a moral level, and commits many terrible acts. He is generally one of the most compelling main characters in all of anime and manga. Miura Kentaro was an absolute God when it came to this shit man, R.I.P. There were genuinely panels in this manga that had me gaping, drooling and just thinking, "Is this really the work of a human?" It saddens me so much that he will never be able to see his masterpiece complete. But, that too, one may say, is a crime of fate.
One thing one must know, however, before starting this, is that it is not for those faint of heart. It is a story which shows the worst of what humanity is capable of. It contains a LOT of sexual assault, violence, gore and such. Some panels are enough to leave readers traumatised. One simple way of testing it is just open the first page of the first volume- you'll see everything you need to know. Moreover, it is a story which is quite dense in terms of lore and technical aspects, which may be a little hard to follow. But if you trust your maturity level, then join this journey to struggle against fate!

This is clearly a great change from R1, since it literally resets the plot pretty much. I think that season 1 was certainly more consistent but I would place them on a similar level for one reason alone- this season has, in my opinion, the greatest ending to any piece of fiction.
Before that, I'll talk about the story itself. It is pretty inconsistent since I think the way it starts is good, and there are certainly parts I really like, but as the scope expands and further expands, the sequence of events is just a little messy. We have some stupid stuff like Lelouch
...
dating hundreds of girls which is really not necessary, particularly when we consider that some more important things, like the Ragnarok Connection, are not elaborated on enough. Rolo as a character is so monotonous and annoying, and had more potential given how overpowered his Geass was. These are some flaws I can point out, though there are many more subtle issues.
I think that Suzaku's development in this season is great. In the beginning, he is much the same as he was in season 1. As time passes, however, particularly after he and Lelouch met in the Kururugi Shrine, and when he uses the F.L.E.I.J.A. under the influence of Lelouch's Geass order, his transformation is admirable and much needed. Nina is another character whom I couldn't stand in season 1, but her development due to the trauma she faced after her weapon caused the deaths of so many is great too.
However, the ending and the lead up to it, i.e., everything after Lelouch takes over the throne, is simply perfect. It's genius in every way. The Zero Requiem is famously considered as one of the best conclusions to an anime. What really makes it compelling, however, is how it keeps you thinking about what it could be. Throughout season 1 and most of season 2, Lelouch's primary goal is making sure Nunnally is happy. However, towards this ending, he barely hesitates to declare Nunnally an enemy. This leaves us wondering about what could possibly be more important to Lelouch than his sister whom he obviously loves dearly. When the reveal hits, the dialogue, the surprise, the music... it made me cry when I first watched it. Goosebumps had appeared all over. Truly, even if the rest of the season was trash, even if the rest of the series was trash, this ending alone would be worth watching for. So, I highly recommend this series.

This is being written after my second watch of the whole series. I have to say, I probably liked it more the first time. I still think it's an absolutely amazing series, but this season particularly has some flaws which prevent it from being perfect.
The obvious one is the asspull/ contrivance with Euphemia being forced to kill the Japanese. We all know that there was perhaps no way to continue the story from there in a very compelling manner. The writers really wrote themselves into a corner there. However, this shit was simply unacceptable. It's so clearly forced. The timing is so convenient. Moreover, there
...
is no other instance where Lelouch just making a statement is taken as an order. He says something along the lines of "If I told you to kill all the Japanese" and that's taken as an order? Makes no sense. That's the only jarring flaw.
Beyond that, there's just a bit of mediocrity in the show. This includes the cat chasing episode, which despite it serving as a plot device to make Suzaku close to the rest of the student council, was just boring compared to the rest of the series.
Other than that, this season was a masterpiece. Lelouch has to be one of the most compelling protagonists in anime. He's a genius, sure, but even his character stands out. He's not a sociopath like Light Yagami- he has motives and reasons for what he's doing. Everything he does is just so entertaining to watch. And the dynamic between Suzaku and Lelouch is very well written. I didn't love Suzaku as a character this season, but it helped set up his greater development in the next season. C.C. is very interesting. The foreshadowing regarding Marianne is great. So I would highly recommend watching this show and experiencing it.
