I liked the premise of the story and VAs, but the unusual pacing and character's cliche internal dialogue was way too much, man. I mean, it was so irritating at some point that it feels the writer is just stretching the story, which can be concluded in just 10-15 secs. I read the manga, but I am not satisfied with that as well. I get it that both the characters are socially awkward and introverts but none of them get time to overcome their difficulties, although, Rika's character has something going on, but Oharu's character is something i can't relate to at all; his character

Pretty decent ending tbh.
They should have released it in cours or parts, but the way they condensed 140+ chapters into 24 episodes is just sad, because we are talking about one of the best manga in the industry in this genre. I felt bad for the author of the manga. I mean, how could he even agree to do this? IDK!! I honestly didn't like the rushed pacing, but still, the animation quality was pretty good compared to season 1 of Tokyo Ghoul Re, which was like PPT at some crucial moments. P.S.: Instead, I recommend watching Parasyte Maxim, which is way better than this ...

I don't mean to sound harsh towards the author, but when you keep the audience hooked for 124 chapters with such a beautiful story and at last you give a half-baked and open (confusing, tbh) ending with no proper explanation regarding what the MCs and other characters are doing or how they are right now (after 12 years), it really frustrating. The story is very heartwarming, and there's so much to learn from it. It has somewhat affected my perspective on life, but Chapter 125 doesn't resonate with me. I mean, was there any need for such a type of ending when the core theme
