One of the few masterpiece medias out there in the world. Most people will say that the Visual Novel is better than the manga but putting them side to side, they each have their pros and cons. The manga tells the story just as good as the visual novel does, and gives the audience a more definitive answer to understand the story rather than theorizing what's going to happen. The Visual novel is for those who like that "theorizing part" of the story, since one of the main message of the series itself is about subjective truth.
Now onto the actual review. Episode 8 of Umineko
...
no naku koro ni chiru: Twilight of the Golden Witch was without a doubt the peak of the story. Episode 8 of the story explored more into Ange Ushiromiya as a character, of course the story still shows characters like Battler, Beatrice, Leon & Will ( who were introduced in episode 7 ), etc. Episode 8 was able to solve the "true story of rokkenjima", the same story Ange was trying to solve ever since she was introduced in episode 4. So this episode was able to solve any major plot holes that were introduced way back, and any theory's the fans had, and the story handled it perfectly. One of the most noticeable plot hole was started all the way back in episode 4 when Beatrice told Battler in red truth that he is not the son of Asumu Ushiromiya, along with a promise that Battler apparently made with Beatrice before. This was a big part of episode 4 but it was never solved, or rather it felt more forgotten since right after Beatrice ended up turning into a potato, and Battler just not bringing it up. From the audience's point of view this might have looked like a plot hole, or something the author just forgot about. Later on this was solved in episode 7, and any confusions that came out of the episode, episode 8 was able to clear it up even more with the "true story of rokkenjima". While reading this episode it felt like "all roads lead to rome", or "all theory's lead to episode 8", this episode was basically the answer to the problem that couldn't be solved. Not only was Battler and Beatrice trying to solve mysteries, the audience was to. Truly a perfect episode patching up any theory's or plot holes that happened before, with a perfect conclusion that is just a cherry on top.
