This was a solid 8 before the most lovable and tragic character between a willing victim with her assaulter. The damsel in distress trope from annoying became revolting. And the premise of the character could have been good. Imagine from chapter 1 to 131, the same female mc, who is stated to get stronger, keeps needing to be saved and only her. She loses her powers for like 40 chapters and is separated from mc for like 50.
She couldn't do anything when her parents were killed, fine. Then, 8 years later, the same killer assaulted her and she couldn't do anything but cry and say
...
"help me Rokuro". (What is most disgusting is that this killer and rapist keeps getting stronger and eventually becomes one of their closer friends like wtf? The husband/mc is fine with that? She's fine with that? They promised to exact revenge no matter what, but in the last few chapters, when she was a deity at her prime, she had a scene that showed she just glanced at him; what happened to exorcising him? And yes, the assaulter rapist developed feelings for her. Luckily its a shonen, otherwise chapter 51, was definitely going to be a rape scene. And the author specifically put leg sore and her crying and arms up on purpose, she's 14 here btw.)
Then, when she gets back her power, she decides to join the villains and says she will fix it herself. Surprise, surprise, she didn't, and mc saved. Then her body got stolen, the same save me line repeated. Then refused to be saved and had to be begged to return to her own body? Chapter 126, the same assulter now sees her fully naked when she's 20, and the top part aint even censored.
I believe the author truly hates her, not women in general. Overly sexualised her at age 14 and 8. So many graphic scenes, like legs chopped off, her lower private body crushed, the assault mentioned above, like every main villain has punched her before. Plus, she lived through her previous lifetime murders and rapes. Like wow, even the side couple had more wholesome moments and less trauma.
The only thing likeable is the fight animation, but these things keep making me reflect until I hate the series. Abrupt ending, romance not flushed out, suddenly he likes her cause she suffered a lot and her brother was his childhood friend. If you only care about fights and can skip the disgusting scenes, this is for you. If you're looking for a mix of wholesome or a good couple, skip it, this is borderline explicit ntr

Being as objective as possible, the show has its good and bad, but personally, the bad outweighs the good, hence, my low enjoyment. The highs are moderately high, the lows are extremely low.
Good Qualities: Paints a cathartic display of a quiet girl opening up. Good boyfriend in supporting her growth.
Bad Qualities: Progress is extremely slow just look at the number of chapters. Gags are not funny e.g (father stealing boyfriends' many first times (not kidding), that female pervert continuously being a pervert to Komi, neither boy nor girl taking initiative, not enough jealousy shown during expected situations). Unrealistic expectations of Komi being a Goddess.
...
In real life, no one would care or react to how the characters in the show do. Character designs are rather bland compared to other shows.
It's not as good as good series romance like Love is War, Horimiya, and Angel Next Door. I put it around the tier of Shikimori maybe a tad bit higher which is not that good either. At least the show has development, no matter how little, for that, it ranks higher. But, not many has the patience to wait until it get til that point.

Excellent mix of fighting, romance & humor. It can switch from serious topics to light topics quickly and quite well might I add. Currently, the topic surrounding their father is intriguing and disturbing, which is right up my alley. Aside from the mcs relationship, I love the family dynamic and care for one another. Some may feel the big brother is too controlling or a huge sis-con, but it was done intentionally, and it is a blast to see him become more accepting of the mc and to eventually find out the backstory. All of the siblings have their own idiosyncratic quirks, making them stand
...
out individually. Though what is common is their care for one another, which is always a blast to read since its so relatable.

Even after one day of morosely contemplating on the anime Your Lie In April is always at the forefront of my mind. I have always been a curious person and have watched dozens of animes but this particular anime really takes the cake of being able to convey deep messages and providing emotional music in a short span of time.
I had grown so attached to the character of Kaori Miyazono. Her voice actor did a marvelous job conveying the vivacious yet stoic character, a person who is boisterous on the outside but deep inside is hiding up a storm. This is one of the
...
most admirable traits to have in my book and she demonstrated it exceptionally well. Indubitably, this is one of the greatest anime I had come across in my journey.
When first introduced I was almost duped by her amazing Facade but I always had vestigial feeling increased over time that she was not what she made out to be. Why was she crying in the beginning? Why did she stop by at the hospital after episode 3? Why does she dawn a gloomy face when no one is around?
There was always a capricious change in character which I just couldn't shake off from these subtle, redolent clues. After learning the truth at the end. It was especially poignant that she choose to be with the best friend of her childhood crush even though she did not want to be. Especially heartbreaking that she pulled through without a hinge knowing that he was right there. She really deserved better and I wanted her to be happy but she was struck down by an incurable illness. Human life is so fragile. She was always upbeat but broke down in the arms of her lover after being strong all this time. She is truly sacrosanct, why are the good ones always the first to leave. I felt gypped that she was taken away after forming such a connection.
She went against the common dogma and doctrine by playing her heart out, not worrying about the scores in the competition, in the end inspiring many people's lives. This anime made me put on my thinking cap more than I was comfortable with. I was vehemently against some of the relationships of the protagonist which is a Virtuoso and prodigy in the art of music and piano. But this came at a price, he was tragically beaten into submission and accepted the fact that by doing well he would be making his mother proud which was also clinically ill.
I loved the juxtaposition and nuance between a perfect pitch prodigy to being a tone-deaf adolescent. It showed the impact of his mother's death on him, impeaching his development and potential. No matter the reasoning I felt that the mother did him wrong, yes you may not have much time left and yes you want your child to succeed but at the result of beating him daily till bleeding? That was frankly ludicrous, egregious, and dreadful. The end doesn't justify the means and I am surprised that nature vs nurture did not kick in for the child and that he didn't grow to cause harm to others but much more passive.
What a tumultuous childhood he had but Kaori became his new light in his ever-dark tunnel. She was his inspiration and they were perfect for one another. How I wished they lived happily ever after. , truly a masterpiece of anime.

Really love the character development and progression. Someone devoid of emotions becomes the most real person with authentic feelings I have ever seen. She can't say it out loud but her writing is the best I ever read. She can be formal, yet she can also be genuine. Someone who was once straightforward and clueless became a famous amanuensis. Just look at her from the first time she typed and now is the biggest juxtaposition I have ever seen.
I promise you that the limited interactions between Violet and Major are one of the best if they were to ever be adapted. Violet has grown so
...
much and it actually makes readers feel pride and joy at her positive change. She was so emotionless, needed instruction, and couldn't live alone but after years of interactions, she grew up and matured. She had made such a tremendous impact on those letters she wrote, always polite to both the young and the old addressing them with the proper etiquette and even to the most deplorable of people and trying to relate to them. It even taught me that although technology advance, it came at the sacrifice of cultivating writers like violet as letter becomes obsolete and rare with phones around.
This story teaches us so many lessons. She is still trying to forgive herself of her sins, needing someone there whenever she falters and that someone has adamantly made it clear that he will do so. Instead of blaming herself, she accepted her past, moves on, and strives to help others, never killing again. Her backstory was much more gruesome in the novel. Everyone makes mistakes but that doesn't mean we are held back by them or don't deserve forgiveness as long as we repent. Listening to sincerely in the background.
Although part of the anime plot changed, I wasn't a fan of how the last episode was changed to his brother instead, it did lead to a relatively awesome movie so we'll take it with a grain of salt. They also procured the awesome episode 10 well. There are still 2 full volumes to cover and side stories so there is still much potential to be had.
