I liked the first episode, but have increasingly found everything pretty boring and annoying. It's just basically the same one-note joke over and over again with bland and annoying characters. It's not really funny at all past the first time we see she's a robot. The 2 jokes are basically she falls apart and she wants to have sex, but is completely misinformed on how to do it. Combine that with the most annoying male MC ever in both character and voice, and this show is just grating to watch even at only 12 minutes. The robot girl is hot sure, but with mid art ... and subpar animation that doesn't even hold much water after you get to see her naked once or twice. The OP and ED are pretty good, but the music during the show itself feels off to me. There's nothing wrong with it per say, but it just feels mismatched and flat somehow?

I did enjoy the Theater Arc despite it not really advancing the plot in a clear way until the end. Many of the side characters were done really well and I enjoyed delving into their motivations and backstories apart from just their relationships to the main characters. Akane and Kana obviously got the most attention with their rivalry and competing worldviews on acting as well as the reveal of their previous meeting as kids. The bad actor guy was also given a killer spotlight and I really did feel for what should've in all respects been a minor forgettable character. The scriptwriter guy and manga ... girl had a nice little arc and I appreciated how they reconciled and how Akane's character was furthered by her being the first one to bring up the changes to her character which shows how she operates as an actress. The reveal of Aqua's half brother was unexpected (kind of because there were really no hints given, but I digress), but the reveal that their father is supposedly dead gets undercut almost immediately because he obviously isn't. One final small problem I had was that in a few episodes it felt like the events of the play got interrupted by some character's backstory like 3 times in one episode and I get that's to explore their motivation, but it does ruin the pacing somewhat.

The 2nd part of the season once again demonstrated a problem I had with the first season being that Aqua and Ruby's stories didn't seem all too connected and it seemed like when the story focuses on one it pauses everything with the other. To be fair, while the Theater Arc definitely did this with Ruby, the "MV arc" is much better at intertwining both Ruby and Aqua and with everything that happened on the trip. Because Ruby now has the same goal as Aqua I hope we will see more of their stories happening in parallel rather than jarringly separate. Finally, I'm glad that Aqua and Ruby being reincarnations is becoming relevant again. It seemed like after they were babies the importance of them being reincarnations faded and I was worried it was just a plot device that was being thrown away once it outlived its usefulness. The last couple episodes certainly proved me wrong and it seems like events from our main sibling pair's past lives are finally entering the main plot in explosive ways.

Overall I really enjoyed this season, I'm definitely glad I waited to binge 12 episodes because it made the experience much more enjoyable in some of the more drawn out parts near the middle. As was standard in the 1st season, the artstyle was super consistent the characters were always very on model, the animation was great and very creative in several places, and the music was just phenomenal.

I really enjoy the vibe of zombie shows like this. There's a serious situation going on and the characters can get serious when appropriate, but they don't let their circumstances drag them into depression. The first half of the show cultivating in the arc with Akira's old manager explores this well with it's own special twist. While most zombie shows have a theme of learning to survive and keep living in this new fucked up world, Zom 100 tweaks it slightly and is more about breaking free of your old monotonous life that is either actively harming you or you do not enjoy. The appeal ... of this is obvious to most people and although I'm sure not many would actually want a zombie apocalypse, the show captures very well that small part of people that craves the freedom it would bring.

The 2nd half of the show changes the theme slightly and this is most exemplified with it's villains. Most of them are outcasts and decide to do evil in this new zombie world as revenge for how they were treated by society. For most of them though, I think the deeper theme is how even just small missteps in a person's life can lead them down a dark path. Although the villains are doing truly evil things in the new zombie world and the show goes out of the way to hammer in that being "wronged" by one person in your life or "society" of course does not justify taking out your anger on everyone, it also makes sure to show most of them in a somewhat sympathetic light. I think this is most apparent with the main villain because it shows how as a kid he wasn't some monster, how as he got older he felt like he drifted away from people, and by the time he grew up he felt there was no way out. And yes he does miss opportunities to be better, but he also tries several new things to better himself. He's imperfect, like all of us. As Akira recognizes, he could've been any of us if one minor thing was different in our lives and if maybe he had someone truly reach out things could've been different. The tragedy we see at the end is that Akira tried to reach out not even knowing how much it would mean to him, but he missed the opportunity to take Akira's hand and change because he was so scared of feeling cast out like he had so many times before. I cried watching the last episode, because I recognize the evil of taking out your anger on everyone because you think it will make you happy and the simple gestures that really do give you happiness like playing in the pool with your friends as a kid.

As a huge fan of the manga this adaption is all I could've asked for and more. The studio did a great job adapting the art style and giving us all the cute shots from the manga. The additions they made through both the animation and music/VAs gave even someone like me who knew what was going to happen something to look forward to. The Kissing Zombies episode especially stood out as making the kissing scenes feel much more intense and intimate through the vibe of the music. I also loved seeing all the blushes and "hnngs" animated. All the VAs did a great job ... with their characters, each one really fit well which I think is very important for a show so reliant on liking all the characters.

I truly do think this is peak "Romcom" in the literal sense of the word. We have the maximum "Rom" in the sense that there's an ever expanding cast of new love interests, but also with the way both Rentarou and all the girlfriends express their love. Rentarou is in to the maximum for being in love and doing everything he can for everyone he loves. As for the "Com" aspect I also think this series is extraordinarily funny especially later on. The original author does a really great job with snappy punchlines and visual gags that the anime does a decent job adapting. The anime is not quite as funny as the manga (especially not yet), but it still does a good job. This part of the story is probably one of the most "serious" sections of the story with things like Rentarou's first decision between Karane and Hakari, Shizuka's backstory, Nano's first date, and everything with Hahari, but it still manages to weave lighthearted and funny stuff throughout despite that.

All in all, can't wait for S2 and to see more girlfriends, some of my favorites are coming up.

I previously read some of the manga, so watching the anime was an enjoyable enough experience. I think I still enjoy the manga more because the art is just so good, while the anime doesn't excel much visually besides a couple scenes. One thing the anime did do better is make me like all of the girls much more. While reading the manga I was strongly on team Mia, but the anime endeared me more to everyone. The voice acting was a big part of that, and speaking of it does take a little bit to get used to VA for Akagami because it's much ... deeper than you'd expect, but the actual quality is unquestionable.

I don't think the last episode's push for an emotional ending really worked or was earned at all because pretty much all the exposition for it was in the final episode. Even in episode 11 the tone was still pretty silly and upbeat, but then we're supposed to take everything super seriously in episode 12 and I just couldn't. The final episode tries to recontextualize Yuzuki as putting on "fake smiles" and a "brave face" but you really get no indication of that from the rest of the series so it doesn't feel earned.

I still enjoyed this as fun and it was a fine enough adaptation, but nothing particularly special.

I really enjoyed this more emotional ending to the story, I actually teared up multiple times especially during each Quint's respective Festival Arc. It wasn't just the romance, but Nino wanting her Dad to be there, Miku finally finding her voice, Yotsuba having trouble with self-worth and deserving what she has, and Itsuki meeting her biological father who discourages her from her dream that make me really feel. I'm so glad I was able to feel so strongly through these characters I've gotten to know. Although the manga's art was definitely better, the movie's music and some of the extra scenes really made this ending ... feel better here than it did to read. I was never really rooting for Yotsuba (my order was Nino=Miku>Itsuki>Yotsuba>Ichika) and after finishing the manga I was ok with the ending, but really wished one of the other girls won, however the way this movie handled things really improved my perception of the ending. I also thought it was really cute how Miku and Nino were running a restaurant together at the end, it feels very satisfying because of how they butted heads at the beginning of the show before eventually realizing they actually share a lot in common.

The only real criticisms I have are that after watching this so long after the show I forgot some of the important events (this is not too big a deal because of how everything is handled with flashbacks as a movie); some scenes especially at the beginning just felt like they were coming one after another with no real throughline or context; and that if you really think about how things would work in reality stuff like the 5 sisters all dressing up as the bride on the wedding day and them all insisting on going on the honeymoon (among other things) are kind of fucked up if Fuutarou and Yotsuba are in a committed relationship and eventually marriage. This stuff happening doesn't ruin it because it's anime logic, but it's just kind of funny to think about in the back of your mind.

Really really really good dystopian "apocalypse" show that I'm surprised managed to get made and in such high quality. The first couple episodes do a fantastic job of catching your attention and sucking you in with a more simple, but highly effective dystopian world and characters that have that classic "a lot of fucked shit happened to me and society, but I choose not to let that make me depressed and instead go on with living my life" vibe. The monsters throughout the whole show are terrifying, but particularly in the first few episodes when you don't know the setting as well they work really ... well. The implication that they used to be human also works really well in a similar way to zombies.

While the first episodes really hooked me, the show really gets good when it starts to expand its world further out beyond just a really well executed monster dystopia. It's a perfect blend of episodic story telling where our main characters meet many different people on their journey to reach their own goals and an overarching story where as it goes on we realize that those smaller stories were actually more intertwined with the overarching narrative than we originally thought. The more information gets revealed to us the more we start to piece together what possibly happened to this world, what happened to Kiriko/Haruki, who/what is Maru and what is "Heaven", and what's the deal with the kids in the secret bunker school with special abilities being controlled by some seemingly evil organization? It's insane how well 2 completely different point of views are blended together to answer questions/explore concepts that would be impossible to understand with only 1. Both the anime staff and original author must've had a deep understanding of what they wanted to do with this story. It all feels very intentional. You don't come across things like this that have such an interesting and well thought out story very often and it's a shame that this hasn't gotten the attention it deserves.

The music and art are both very well done. Both the OP and ED give off this almost carefree vibe with minor serious/sinister undertones that really encapsulate the vibe of the show. The characters are very expressive and their motions are fluid. Not every scene is a masterpiece, but the style of less important/impactful scenes make me feel like they still put effort into making it not look like a blobbly mess. Low detail does not have to mean low quality and this show really understands that. Overall a masterpiece, and a definite must watch for anyone into post-apocalyptic, dystopian stories. Really hope we get a season 2 at some point.

If I was just ranking the 1st long episode I'd probably have scored this 1 point higher. This isn't to say that the rest of the show is bad, but the 1st episode is just such a good self-contained story. Everything is just so well set up where even throughout the happy normal moments you feel a sense of unease until it finally comes to a head with Ai's death. This perfectly sets up the main characters and their goals and motivations for the rest of the show. The change in Aqua's personality works so well because we saw how he was before the tragic ... event in his life. Because we know why he's so cynical it makes it feel less "edgy" in a bad way like so many other anime. I also appreciate how a tragedy actually feels tragic and it's not just used as a sad moment in one episode just for it to have no consequences later on. Many other shows will go for these sad moments that might make for individually good episodes, but ruin the lasting impact by being goofy for the rest of it. I'm not saying there's no comedy or lightheartedness in the rest of the show, but it's done well and doesn't diminish the past. The Akane Depression Arc also similarly treats a serious topic like depression and suicide with the respect it deserves. It sets up where those feelings come from well and really does a good job of making the hate Akane receives feel like a suffocating, crushing wave that drives her to a point where she feels she has no other options. The only criticism I have is that it feels like she gets over it too quickly and obviously that Aqua being there to save her is technically "cliché," but I don't really mind it for the sake of what they end up doing with her character.

The only 2 real criticisms I have is that the introduction of the acting school or whatever feels really pointless and basically fades from existence after introducing a few characters that I can only assume do something later in the story (because they didn't do anything in this season). The 2nd thing is that the storylines of Aqua and Ruby aren't really intertwined particularly well. There's a definite part of the story which is Aqua acting trying to get information on his father with Ruby sort of just doing nothing in the background to advance her goal of becoming an idol. Aqua basically just finds her a couple members until the end where we then switch to Ruby's part of the show where she trains to be an idol and eventually perform at JIF and Aqua and his goals are basically irrelevant. While it didn't really diminish my enjoyment too much, there was a vary obvious and jarring line where one character's part of the story ended and the other's started.

Overall quite a good show with banging music especially the OP. The eyes of all the characters especially Ai and Aqua/Ruby are absolutely beautiful, I'm glad they went extra detailed and just made them look like galaxies.

I liked the more casual/slice-of-life vibes of the first couple episodes, but once it got into the action it felt way too slow or just not interesting enough until the last couple episodes. I'm fine with backstory interjected into fight scenes (though Demon Slayer does do this a lot and not particularly gracefully), but it just felt like stuff took forever to happen. The Mist Hashira was stuck in a water vase for like 3 episodes which just felt like way too long for nothing to be happening. This slow feeling was also not helped by the numerous repetitive recaps. I get that this is ... meant to be viewed weekly and not back to back like I watched it, but I really don't think we need to repeat what just happened last episode at the beginning of the next episode every time. They also did this with the mid-episode cutaway card and at that point it's just way too much. Last season it felt like every episode went super fast in a good way because there was so much stuff happening and it was all really fun to watch, but this season it felt like every episode was over super fast in a bad way where it left me feeling like nothing happened.

Now onto what I did like; Once again the demon powers are really cool and fun to watch when shit is actually happening. The characters in this arc were pretty fun, and I especially loved (pun intended) Mitsuri, the Love Hashira. Obviously she's very cute, but I also really like her kind, cheerful vibe (props to the VA). Her sword and fighting style were really cool to see animated and the song that played during her fight with Upper Moon 4 felt very Magical Girl which compliments her perfectly.

Overall this wasn't the best season of Demon Slayer ever and I do hope they address the pacing issues in the next season, but I still enjoyed it. I hope whatever comes next isn't rushed because I'm more than willing to wait for something of a higher quality.

While I do like that the scale of progress continues to grow, it does lose a little of the charm of the earlier episodes where every new invention blew my mind. Now the inventions are still crazy like mini-RC cars and even a drone, but I've already seen them build an entire ship so it's not as much of a wow moment.

I still really like all the characters, though again they all feel a little sillier now than they did at the beginning. At the beginning things were serious because there were big stakes like the fate of humanity both the new and the ... old, but as that has faded to be more of just the overarching background goal, I feel that the characters have gone from serious with silly moments to silly with serious moments. The serious moments are still done pretty well, anything with Byakuya comes to mind immediately as well as everyone being petrified on the ship and the "Why Man" , but I just wish the goofiness was toned down just a little bit. Some of it can be ok like with Ginro being the one to not be petrified and having to save the lab, so it's not all bad though.

I give a lot of criticism, but I do genuinely really enjoy this show. The main premise is just so intriguing and I just find myself loving seeing what pillar of modern civilization that I take for granted is invented next. The 2 that really stuck out to me this season were agriculture, farming, and livestock and just the concept of reading and writing. Near the end of the show one group of characters needs to communicate information to another group of characters, but are unable to meet up face to face and speak to each other. They are able to send things back and forth and to a modern person a solution so obvious you almost don't even think about it presents itself. Writing. But then you remember how the new people have only ever communicated with speech and have no way of communicating particularly complex ideas in writing. It's an interesting dilemma and I think it's just one example of how this show uses its concept brilliantly.

The music including the OP and ED are still bangers. The art and animation is perfectly serviceable. The character designs are peak, I really like how with the more important characters their physical traits can often be traced back in some way to the original 6 astronauts that restarted humanity. Somewhat related to that, the thing I hate the most about this show is that they for some reason felt like they needed to make Byakuya and Senku not blood related. I've seen people argue that it's because of potential incest implications if Senku were to get with someone from Ishigami village, but this connection would be thousands of years separated and it doesn't even make sense because there are other incest implications with the fact that it would be impossible to build a new civilization from the 6 original astronauts without it happening to some degree, but nobody seems to care about that. All in all I still love Byakuya and Senku's father-son relationship, but just wish it was actually real.

Great show, can't wait for the 2nd part of this season coming in October.
