Take Azumanga Daioh or Luck Star and add the FLCL randomness. A refreshing break from all the Isekai and serious rom com high school stuff that is too serious. The character types are rather traditional for the setup, but they are well thought out and balance each other. The story revolves around regular anime high school stuff such as sports day etc, but the randomness they added is next level. A fair warning, a lot of the jokes are on behalf of anime stereotypes (like one punch man) so if you don't watch a lot of anime you miss a lot of the fun. The ... only downside is that certain jokes get a bit repetitive over time. Also character development is rather slow to non existent.
Nevertheless, a good show, totally worth watching.
