Wow, what a read this was! It’s one of those series where you read the first few chapters and just know you’re experiencing something special. I think it also carries a great message about self-love and the importance of communication.
All 20 chapters bring something to the table—not a single one feels insignificant. The progress of the main couple is so tastefully slow, yet steady and consistent. Most of their struggles are resolved fairly quickly, but never in a way that feels rushed or cheap. The pacing hits that perfect sweet spot. The side characters also felt very complete, and most of them played crucial roles

This series is as straightforward as it gets. There’s a gag, a very barebones plot, and… that’s about it. It’s cute, it’s light, and it doesn’t try to be anything more than your standard dose of cute girls doing cute things. I didn’t really see anything here that I haven’t already seen elsewhere.
The 18 chapters are super short and fly by in a breeze—it’s an easy read you can finish in one sitting. So, should you read this? If you’ve got 30 minutes to kill, I don’t see why not. Just don’t go in expecting any big twists or deep storytelling. 6/10 – Fine Apr 22, 2025

This series sits firmly in the average-but-could've-been-great category. It had a solid foundation—a unique setting that really worked—but the short runtime didn’t give it the breathing room it needed. Because of that, it ends up feeling more like an extended one-shot than a fully realized story.
There were so many missed opportunities. A deeper dive into Makino’s backstory could’ve added some real emotional weight, and the side characters definitely had potential that just went unexplored. And as for the ending—it didn’t feel like a true conclusion, more like the story just... stopped. That said, I still enjoyed my time with it. The art was cute, the vibes ... Feb 14, 2025
This series had a lot of potential. It was super cute, packed with fluff, and featured some pretty likeable characters.
The main issue? Most of the story feels kind of pointless. It doesn’t really push the main characters’ relationship forward in any meaningful way. I don’t mind a good tease here and there—an interrupted kiss or a misunderstood confession can be fun. But when the same trick is repeated for half the series, it gets old fast. Each chapter gives the illusion of progress, only to end up back at square one. This also makes the ending feel pretty unfulfilling and shallow. Another nitpick is that some ... Jan 13, 2025
I started this manga thinking it would just be some light-hearted fluff to read before bed. Instead, I got a pretty unique series—one that isn’t afraid to touch on real societal issues. It doesn’t just drop the characters into some pre-made world where no one bats an eye at a homosexual relationship, and that’s something I don’t see too often.
The early chapters felt a bit repetitive, with Hiroko stuck in denial over and over again. Honestly, you could cut the number of these chapters in half without losing much of the plot. That said, the story picks up towards the end and gets pretty interesting. ... Jan 7, 2025

Being a big fan of the manga, I was really excited for the anime debut of Whisper Me a Love Song. Unfortunately, my experience with it was pretty mixed.
Production: Let’s get the obvious out of the way—yes, like most people, I was disappointed by the production quality. I’m not usually someone who needs top-tier animation to enjoy a show, but the issues here were hard to ignore. The art often felt raw and unfinished, like I was watching some kind of fan edit. It’s a shame, because the manga is one of the prettiest series I’ve ever read. The long delays in production didn’t help either—understandable, ... Dec 5, 2024

Your Lie in April is nothing short of a masterpiece, and I totally understand why this series is so beloved.
Art: The art didn’t really speak to me personally, but it was consistent throughout and didn’t have any weak moments. I found the use of colour to be a nice touch. I also loved how the piano was animated—the detailed shots of the inside parts were fascinating, and I’m guessing the hand movements were accurate too, though I’m no expert. Music: I’m not a musician, so I can’t say what makes one pianist better than another. But the piano music in this anime felt like it truly spoke to ... Nov 26, 2024
I realized very early on that I’m probably not the target demographic for this anime—it seems clearly aimed at p*rn-addicted self-inserts. Since I don’t consider myself part of that group, take my review with a grain of salt.
I have very mixed feelings about this anime, so I’ll break them down into clear points: Art and Design: Easily the best part of the series. The character designs are beautiful, and the animation is consistently well-executed. I honestly can’t ask for much more in this department—it’s top-notch. Characters: There’s plenty of variety among the characters, but many feel like they exist solely to attract as wide an audience as possible. The ... Nov 15, 2024

Oh my, this series is almost too sweet for its own good. I won’t spoil anything, but by the time I finished, I was absolutely devastated. The sheer sadness of it all really hit me—the story is incredibly captivating and emotionally gripping.
The main characters complement each other beautifully, making their connection feel genuine and heartfelt. The romance isn’t really there, but it’s not needed in this story—it still manages to be incredibly touching without it. The art is stunning and the cover of volume 1 is one of my favourites. Big recommend, but consider yourself warned: you might shed a few tears... Nov 15, 2024

This series takes its time, with a slow pace and not much happening plot-wise. The main characters can be quite awkward, but there’s a certain charm to their interactions that kept me entertained throughout. But it really isn't that deep.
Maybe focusing more on the side characters would have been an interesting direction, as they could have brought some additional depth or variety to the story. If you’re looking for lots of drama or unexpected plot twists, you’ll probably want to look elsewhere. But if you’re in the mood for something sweet, light, and easy to enjoy without overthinking, this series is a delightful choice. |
