I really want to like City, but I can't. It's just bad, misses the mark, and drags you through it's jokes. Like many comedies if you sit through enough of the jokes you're going to like one. Unfortunately, it's just not worth the effort with this show.

City's going to get compared to Nichijou forever, rightfully so, Nichijou is a powerhouse of timing, puns, and subversion. City is none of these. I don't care for any of the characters in this show; their names haven't even registered in my mind after 6 episodes.

A better copmarison might be Hidamari Sketch, if you liked Hidamari you'll probably ... like this too. Hidamari was slightly better, because the characters were likable. Yet like City, it's in my incredibly rare dropped category.

For anyone good with their Japanese City lives up to it's name...

As a standalone animation this series is not spectacular, however as an aside it helps you to understand the history of the tanks presented in Girls und Panzer as a whole. It's an interesting addition to the series that shows just how much thought has been placed into the skirmishes the girls go through upon the battlefield. Highly recommended if you have a general interest in history, also recommended if you have a niche interest in tanks (although if that's the case you may already know more tbf lol).

Overall an interesting side piece to the anime with some bad jokes, "fun" facts, and slight ... misinformation (AKA bias). 7/10... 🙃
