Tougen Anki

The plot is pretty straightforward and packed with all the usual shounen clichés. Even Jujutsu Kaisen started off with similar tropes, but strong animation and better writing helped it handle them well. Tougen Anki, on the other hand, doesn’t manage that. The 3D animation looked bad to me, and the characters introduced felt corny more often than not. Sorry, but I had to drop this one.

Animation
Not great. The mix of 2D and 3D definitely didn’t help and often broke immersion.

Plot & Characters
Feels like a very typical shounen setup with tournament factions and familiar power systems. The gun demon concept felt unique, but the animation ... drop really held it back. Most of the new characters felt forced—clearly designed to be funny, helpless, or edgy without much nuance.

Recommendation
I don’t recommend this for fans looking for strong plots in action anime.

Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc

Absolute cinema. This felt like a true theatrical experience—the cinematography, direction, music, and references all came together to create something intense and immersive. Easily some of the best cinematography in anime. The pool scene paired with the music was phenomenal, especially on the big screen.

That said, it felt a bit too short. While the fights were great, the overall story felt slightly thin for a full movie. Expanding more on side characters or adding extra content could’ve helped flesh things out.

Animation
One of the best. The cinematic camera angles were outstanding, and it wasn’t just the action scenes—even the quieter ... moments were beautifully animated.

Plot & Characters
The characters were good overall, but Reze didn’t quite leave an emotional impact on me. The arc felt too short to build a strong emotional connection.

Recommendation
For a truly cinematic anime experience, Chainsaw Man continues to stay on top—and this movie delivers. A solid yes.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle

The animation is at an all-time peak. Watching this on the big screen was something else entirely. Honestly, I’m just happy that Demon Slayer played such a huge role in introducing anime to a wider audience.

That said, while the movie is good overall, the constant backstories made me disconnect from the action at times. Since the film covers a large number of fights from the arc, the momentum keeps getting interrupted by major explanations and flashbacks.

Animation
Absolutely the best. With every Demon Slayer entry, the animation budget seems to reach new heights. The animation alone is what ... pushes this series to such massive popularity.

Plot & Characters
The movie is heavily fight-focused, which is easily its strongest aspect. However, the repeated backstories and typical shounen-style overexplanations break the flow of the film. The backstories themselves aren’t bad—they do hit emotionally—but they could’ve been structured better to maintain pacing.

Recommendation
Obviously, yes.

Dandadan – Season 2

It still retains the uniqueness, quirkiness, and mad fun of Season 1—no letdown at all. This season feels like a perfect continuation. The movie references, absurd humor, and action are all on point. The randomness of this anime is something special, and it’s executed alongside solid character development, which is why Dandadan continues to sit at the top of my list. The cinematography and direction are exceptionally well done too.

Plot & Characters
Leans into strong shounen vibes with cinematic framing. The characters are well developed throughout the series, and you genuinely feel connected to them. Every new character introduced feels fresh and unique ... in their own way.

Animation
Easily one of the best this season. The direction and camera work were already strong, and the animation only elevates it further. The fight scenes are well executed, and the use of color is simply stunning.

Recommendation
Highly recommended. A solid and satisfying continuation from Season 1.

Dr. Stone: Science Future – Part 2

This season of Dr. Stone is still a hit. It brings back the same excitement and curiosity-driven build-up that made the earlier seasons so engaging. The ending was especially strong—Suika’s episode was simply amazing and easily one of the highlights of the season.

My only complaint is that the science isn’t explained in as much detail as in Season 1, but that’s understandable since the inventions and concepts are far more complex now.

Plot & Characters
A direct continuation of the previous season, and it still feels like a masterpiece. The buildup remains strong, the villains are good, and each episode carries ... a sense of tension that keeps you hooked.

Animation
Consistent as always. Since this anime isn’t heavily action-focused, the animation does its job well and fits the tone of the series.

Recommendation
A great continuation that maintains the same quality. Always recommended—and now just waiting for the final season.

Grand Blue – Season 2

Entertaining as hell and insanely fun. It genuinely hurts when the season ends—but at least Season 3 is already scheduled, so thank god for that. This anime is pure chaos, laughter, and good vibes.

Season 1 relied heavily on naked jokes, and I honestly expected more of the same here. But Season 2 toned that down and instead brought in fresher characters and even funnier moments, which worked really well.

Plot
Honestly, it’s the same old fun. There isn’t much of a plot change this season, but I’m not complaining—Grand Blue never promises a deep story. It promises madness and laughter, and it delivers ... that 100%.

Characters
New characters were introduced and never felt out of place. They blended naturally with the existing cast and added more chaos in the best way possible.

Recommendation
Highly recommended for all comedy-loving anime fans. This one should not be missed.

Kaijuu 8-gou – Season 2

An anime with strong sound design, solid animation, and a decent plot for an action series—yet it never really manages to stand at the top of the season. It isn’t exceptional in any single area, but it does everything well enough to offer a consistently enjoyable experience. Because of that, it strangely feels less memorable compared to other standout action anime.

The balance between comedy and action still works in its favor. The humor doesn’t completely undercut the tension, and the action scenes remain engaging, even if they don’t leave a lasting impact.

Plot
The story continues in a safe and familiar direction. It ... doesn’t take many risks, sticking to a formula that works but doesn’t evolve much. While the plot is coherent and easy to follow, it lacks moments that truly elevate it or push the narrative forward in a meaningful way.

Characters
Character development remains fairly minimal. Kafka is still likable, but there isn’t a significant leap in his growth this season. The supporting cast gets some screen time, but most of them remain surface-level, serving the plot more than being explored as individuals.

Animation & Sound
The animation is good and consistent throughout. While Season 1 had a few standout moments, Season 2 plays it safer visually. The sound design, however, continues to be a strong point and adds weight to the action scenes.

Recommendation
For action fans, this is a solid watch that delivers reliable entertainment. Just don’t go in expecting something groundbreaking or the absolute best of the genre

Lazarus

It had the potential to be a one-of-a-kind anime—and in some ways, it is—but something felt off. It never really delved deep into its themes. The characters were okay, not explored in much depth, yet it was still fun to watch. The social aspects were handled well, but the ending didn’t land the way I expected it to. Maybe my expectations were just too high.

The suspense elements didn’t fully work for me either. The story felt like it moved at the same pace throughout, without many highs or shifts to keep the tension strong.

Characters
Good overall, but not deeply developed.

Animation
Pretty good and consistent. Not over-the-top, but ... solid in its own way.

Recommendation
Fine for a single watch, just don’t go in with very high expectations.

My Dress-Up Darling – Season 2D

I liked the first season mainly for the romance, not so much for the cosplay aspect. This season leaned heavily into cosplay, leaving very little room for the romantic elements. The MC-and-quirky-girl dynamic is an old anime trope, but Marin’s energy still makes it an interesting watch. That said, the shift in focus felt a bit off to me.

Characters
The newly introduced characters felt bland. Maybe cosplay fans will enjoy them more, but I didn’t really connect with them.

Animation
Pretty good overall. I’m glad they didn’t overly sexualize Marin this time.

... Recommendation
Honestly, I’m conflicted. The genre itself felt like it shifted. I didn’t really like this season, but I’d still watch it—for the tiny bits of romance that remain.

Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus

Like the previous seasons, it introduces a new syndrome that makes absolutely no sense—yet somehow ends up making sense. They pull that off again this time too. However, this season felt noticeably slower and didn’t carry the same vibe as Season 1, Season 2, or the movie. The romance element, which had a strong fan following, also felt a bit sidelined.

Characters
Not particularly strong this time. The new characters were okay but mostly forgettable, and the animation style made it harder to tell them apart.

Animation
Decent overall, but as mentioned, many characters looked too similar, which didn’t help.

... Recommendation
A decent continuation, but it doesn’t quite capture the essence of Season 1. If you’ve watched the previous entries, this is good enough to continue—but don’t expect the same highs.
