So far, it’s a very cute and emotional slice-of-life feeling show, yet it maintains a suspenseful dramatic edge. I am probably not the intended audience, but it’s one of the most enjoyable shows I’ve ever seen. The start is generic, main character can see the future and there’s a tragedy and now needs to change it. original. Despite that, the show is captivating, with each episode making me want to watch the next, which is a testament to its quality.
The animation style was also done really well. Deep thought was definitely put into it, and the attention to detail is amazing. I also find the way the colorful scenery reflects the current mood in each scene, conveying deep emotion, to be very insightful. So far, I really like the show and can see why it gets the praise it has received. I’m hoping to see this show get better as more episodes get released. I plan to re-review after watching the entire show to see if it maintains the quality of the first episodes.

After watching this show, I can confirm it’s a fresh and unique concept, which I put off for two years, and only watched it now, for some reason. Upon watching this show now, I can truly say this show puts a unique spin on the historical mystery drama genre. engaging with the audience and truly captures attention from all. Overall, the writing truly deserves the praise it receives. The writing of the story was done very well, and no parts of the show ever seemed disheveled, unlike other shows that try to do too many things at once and end up confusing the story.
The development of the narrative is also another thing that deserves its praise. Top-tier reveals with the mystery setting were done extremely well, and its scientific accuracy was also very enjoyable. The animation style was fine, nothing over the top; however, I would have liked it to match the quality of the story and the potential would have been limitless. But overall, the quality was fine and consistent, which is the most important part. Voice acting was done very well too. I could feel myself immersed in the story and could feel their emotions. What really sets this show apart from others is its world-building. I would argue that the world-building made this show unique. The setting might be common and overdone, as there have been many shows based on ancient China, but this show really does things that encapsulate a different perspective of a unique point of view. And this really is what makes this show a one of a kind. The individual episodes intertwine cohesively, with each episode building upon each other with proper set up, which I appreciated thoroughly. Emotional elements of this show also proved effective, though its narrative dictated this, previously lauded.
This show was truly a gem. I believe it had the potential to excel if it had the proper resources; however, it does amazingly with what it already has and can call itself a masterpiece even. The praise this show receives is very well deserved, and I would even praise it as well, especially with the storytelling and world-building. Overall, I can definitely recommend this show as a must-watch, as its one of the best shows I’ve seen from 2023.

Even as a generic "main character gets kick out of party, but is actually the strongest" trope, this show can't even do this well. The animation is fine, voice acting was fine too, but everything else is extremely boring. The story is too generic and is absolutely hard to watch, it tries telling us something, but it fails to tell us what it's trying to be. The plot is pretty much non-existent. is that this show is not. Eventually, it gets to a point where I can't continue watching this show anymore and I dropped it. This show was nothing but a boring waste of time.
I do not recommend watching this show. There is no plot and there is no story. There is no exciting build-up, there is no world building, and there is no substance. I can confidently say this show is purely a cash-grab. If you're into wasting your time on being bored out of your mind, this is the show for you.

Black Butler has done it again by not disappointing the audience with another great arc. This show ties into the entire series very smoothly, and we get to see new characters as well as old ones, albeit not as frequently, who tie into the main plot from a new and interesting perspective. Fell in love with the premise of the show immediately, and I was hooked. The concept seemed very new and unique from the other Black Butler arcs, and this showed promise of something very entertaining and new, which it did in fact deliver.

expected from this type of show, but it does it in a way where it's not over-the-top complicated and can hold what it's setting up. The main character infiltrates a prestigious school to investigate missing persons. This sounds pretty straightforward; however, the way that this plot is delivered is another story. The layers of world-building and the delivery included in this show are very praiseworthy. I enjoyed the buildup, and watching the whole show is definitely worth it. The animation is also very solid, given that this is a new studio working on this project. The backlash that this show gets, I believe, is absolutely misplaced, to the point that I find it difficult to believe others have watched the same show. The plot again definitely delivers the essence of the series, though with fewer episodes and impact. The end was great, but the ending was also not my favorite, and it could have been better in my opinion.
I do hope this show gets more recognition. It conveys the essence of the series really well and I definitely believe that it will capture your attention. With that being said, I can definitely recommend this show as a must-watch. The animation is solid, the plot is great, and the world building is actually one of the best I've ever witnessed. If you into a great show with a great story, you should definitely watch this.

The way I would describe this show is that it’s a true gem in a pure form. I saw some clips of this show online and decided to give it a chance. After watching the first episode, I was hooked on the premise right away. The direction that the show was going in was definitely unexpected, and that just showed how amazing the writing and storytelling were. The animation was stunning, and the pictures were absolutely beautiful, which helped with attention-grabbing, not that it even needed it! same way I did, with an open mind that’s clear to understand the type of storytelling that it had conveyed.
The world-building and the setup are very developed and well-done, though, which might fly over some people’s heads. At first, it develops the setting and lays the groundwork for the true plot to develop in a slice-of-life type of setting with a hint of the overarching plot that is soon to come, with very nice foreshadowing. There was definitely a story hinted, as well as a plot, and some people seem to have missed this, which I think they were just expecting this to be a brain-dead show that’s lazy and reveals the plot in clear talking points, which this show does not do for you. Instead, it hints at themes that are in complex ideologies and says a lot that could be expanded upon. I understand that it’s frustrating when the main character doesn’t get his way immediately or everyone doesn’t bow down to him asap, but that’s part of a story for more and moves the plot along, which some people with negativity don’t understand. In addition, it’s completely normal to be wary of an outsider, like the main character, and it seems that this made the reception of this show worse, which I believe is completely unfair, since instead of going into this show with expectations of great writing, people decided that everything should somehow work out immediately for the main character, which sets completely unrealistic standards.
The character development was also one of the best as it shows how multiple characters reflected on what they had done, mistakes they had made, and what they regretted, which shows another part of great writing. I understand that some people also complain about this and how this show has an identity crisis; but which I completely disagree with this simply because of the themes shown in this show and how it ties into the plot with everything. I hope they revisit this show again with a pair of fresh eyes as it conveys many important themes, such as deprogramming from militarism & propaganda, ethical ambiguity in war, value of peaceful societies vs rigid cultist efficiency-based societies that abandons humanity, rediscovering humanity and purpose, anti-fascism and anti-authoritarianism, and many more social complexities that ties within the plot. It’s a very well-rounded story with great writing, but that does not mean that it doesn’t have an identity. It tackles societal issues very well, I’d say, and in fact, I urge people to revisit it soon, as it’s truly a masterpiece.
Overall, this show is a must-watch. If you’re into great writing that conveys many themes really well, or into action but with a bit more, I would definitely recommend it. The reception honestly doesn't do it enough justice, as they watched it immediately and gave a quick opinion without any second thought. The animation, storytelling, and world-building are all great, and I definitely can recommend this if you’re into a masterpiece.

Great show, one of the best during this Anime season. Highly recommended if you’re into intricate and well-thought-out storytelling. At first, I was very skeptical, as the cover art really pushed me into this box that this show was just a cash-grab type of show. However, it soon promised to be a fascinating concept, and the animation also caught my attention. The show’s pacing jumps into action right away, and I applaud its attention-grabbing. This immediately made me interested in the show and made me to keep watching it right away.

the first episode, it proved otherwise very quickly with its great storytelling and concept. The concept really grabbed my attention with its worldbuilding using their rules of magic and such, and I fell in love with this show soon after. The premise behind this show immediately proved to be not generic at all, and all the characters, as well, were very fun to watch as they grew and as the show progressed. Though the pacing is not very ideal and can feel slow and dragged on at times with the story itself.
Overall, I can definitely recommend this show as a must-watch; its attention to detail was also very fun to spot. The animations were also not too shabby, and the story, I can definitely say, is one of a kind and amazing. Though the story might be a little dragged on at times, it’s still a must-watch if you’re into great storytelling, great world-building, and unique concepts.

Show is definitely interesting, I feel like it puts a very fresh spin on the overpowered main character trope. It definitely entertains well enough for me to watch 3 episodes in an hour without me dropping it, which is better than most shows I can say already that are cash grabs with the generic transported to another world plots, but I digress.
This show has very solid animation with very solid voice acting, and from what I can tell so far, the plot is building a very nice and solid foundation to set itself upon. I'm very excited for the next episodes and can't wait

to see what happens next, which is a very great start for this show. Although it's great so far overall, I feel like this show can also be inconsistent as well, such as parts of the dialogue dragging on too long, but this is just mostly nit-picky type of critique.
I hope this show continues to live up to my expectations, as so far, it's pretty entertaining, though time will only tell if this show lives up to its earlier episodes. Will re-review this soon after more episodes come out.

Started off as really solid and entertaining. Really promising in general. It captured my attention really well, and I was genuinely invested in the storytelling. The animation was fine, and this show no doubt has thought behind it. The story started out really solid, with good pacing as well, even though the premise is really generic. As I continued past the 5th episode, however, things took a turn, and the storytelling started getting dragged on. This show still seems like a solid short and sweet anime with a solid foundation, but it’s starting to falter.

How I would say my experience with this show is that I had really enjoyed this show, it turned out to be actually really entertaining. This series caught my attention through clips of it online and it immediately seemed really intriguing. Though this show starts off being slow and a little bit dragged on at times, it picks itself up quickly and focuses really well on the main plot and finds itself on solid footing. Though the concept of this show might seem very strange, I still whole heartedly believe that everyone should still give it a chance.

that makes you hooked and makes you more invested in the characters. In addition, the character development is very entertaining and satisfying to see. As the series progresses, each episode is unique and interesting in its own way. You would expect a series like this to have the same repetitive formula over and over again, but this series executes their concept very well with creativity. The animation of the show is also really well done, although there are some scenes that didn’t receive the same amount of love and care compared to others.
Despite how I said the animation can be described as inconsistent at times, I would still really recommend this show as a must-watch. The story telling is heartfelt, and it’s really satisfying seeing the character development of the entire cast. This show definitely has its own great little charm. I can definitely see why many enjoy this, with me included, and I would definitely say that this show is a great must watch for anyone seeking a story with great writing and humor.

I can confidently say this is a very solid show. From the very beginning, the animation immediately pulled me in with its amazing visuals and very polished presentation. Combined with solid storytelling, the series quickly revealed itself as a very solid show that's worth watching. It’s the kind of show that feels like it has genuine focus behind its storytelling, rather than being just another generic formulaic attempt to cash in on trends.
While the series remained engaging throughout, the finale did leave me underwhelmed and expecting a bit more compared to the show's beginning and middle. Many fans would definitely agree that its ending lacked

the punch and weight needed to fully cap off such a very solid run. That said, it didn’t ruin the overall experience too much, and the majority of the show still holds up as an entertaining and solid well-crafted story.
What I was surprised by was the reception. As I continued to read each review, I began to see too many viewers approached this show with the wrong expectations, looking for yet another generic overpowered protagonist dominating everything in sight, landing the hottest girl, and other generic clichés of that sort. This show is not that. Instead, it chooses to focus on meaningful world-building, layered storytelling, and side plots that enrich the main plot of the show, with the protagonist tying everything together wonderfully. If you are not into series like this, then I can say comfortably that this show will not be for you.
Despite the finale not being as strong as expected, I still walked away feeling very solid about this series. The journey leading up to it was incredibly worthwhile, and I genuinely think that it deserves a second season, because the potential for growth is undeniable. For anyone who believes in strong animation, solid storytelling, and a world that feels alive with interesting details, this show is an absolutely must-watch.
