If you don't wanna read, here's a shameless self-promotional link to the video version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbYiXE3HvYY
I was extremely excited for this film, mainly because I am a Digimon fan and when I saw the promotional poster for this new movie I was hyped. And I watched it the day it was released, but at the time I was a bit biased towards the film because I of the nostalgia. So after waiting a while and rewatching it a couple of times, the questions now stand. Is this film any good and does it actually live up to the hype?
Please do keep in mind that I will
...
be judging this movie not only as a start point for the rest of the films but also as a standalone one.
Without further ado, let's get started.
I'm going to keep the synopsis short and brief so that I can get into the main part a little quicker.
Three years after the battle against BelialVamdemon, Taichi and the others have begun to grow up and have started doing their own things and pursuing their own goals . However during his soccer game Taichi see's that a Kuwagamon has appeared and attempts to stop it as it wreaks havoc and destruction across the city. By reuniting with his friends and fellow digimon the first film in the Digimon adventures tri series begins.
Digimon adventure tri, is honestly a difficult anime film for me to review because I really wanted this film to be good. Before I get into the nitty gritty stuff, I'm going to start with some of the positives.
I think the writers did a fantastic job at realizing the stage in life that all of our characters are in. It feels believable and genuine. Even if you're new to the series and know very little about these characters, the relationships all feel real. A major theme of this film is this idea of growing up and the distance that it creates between people who were once extremely close. It's a mature theme that I really didn't think would show up, but it did and it was executed brilliantly. The entire storyline involving these characters reunion was really the shining star of this whole film.
Now personally I thought they did a great job with the OST, not only was the opening song enjoyable, but the music that played throughout the whole movie was done with great care as well. All the music fit well with the scenes and added a multitude of elements where it was needed.
It was also fairly well paced. There were some moments where it could have slowed down and taken some time to explain things, but for the most part I was never left hanging.
The character designs were also well done for the most part. It really feels like the characters that old digimon fans knew and loved had gotten older.
Now despite being the first movie in a series, it doesn't excuse it from not being to hold it's own. This movie has a lot of flaws and sadly they aren't little flaws that can be overlooked. As we move into the negatives I do want to say that the overall story of the film is fairly good despite some questionable characters and moments that make you go “wtf”. The major issues of this film really come from it's directing, editing, and overall animation and artstyle.
First off let's start with the actual execution of the themes in this film. Without spoiling too much the first movie is really about Taichi as a character, and the setup for both his internal and external conflicts are done well, and although his external conflicts with his friends is strong throughout the film his internal conflict fails to feel natural and cohesive. This element of his character is forcibly shoved down our throats through obvious narration and dialog. It seems like the writers couldn't think of any better ways to get this story arc across other than through generic and blatant explanation. So by the end of the film it wouldn't be outlandish to say that Taichi was an annoying character to some extent.
I will say though that they were able to get this message across visually.
The next major problem with the film is it's directing. There are certain scenes and set pieces during this film that really raises some questions as to how it was directed. Again without spoiling too much, there is a conflict that occurs at an airport, and during this battle scene, with destruction and chaos happening, it is literally put on hold to show the reunion of most of the characters and the digimon and we then spiral into a 2-4 minute scene where these characters have an actual conversation as if the battle is not happening at all. It's like the writers decided that at this very moment the battle was going to go on intermission for a half-time show where instead of cheerleaders dancing to music and little mini games being played, we get to see a conversation play out.
Continuing on the films terrible directing there are even moments where the director had chosen to show single frame or scene multiple times to convey the exact same message which further makes it seem like there are elements just being forced down the audiences throat.
Moving past these issues we come down to the animation of the movie. First off I want to mention something. Is it just me or do the artists not know what Taichi's skin color is supposed to be. Because in some scenes he has this fat tan but then in others he's super pale. And don't tell me it's because of the lighting because in scenes that involve multiple characters in a dimly lit area everyone seems to retain their skin color just fine. Moving back on track the overall animation for me was disappointing.
There are moments where a characters face will look so out of whack that it pulls me out of the movie and makes me physically scrunch my eyebrows and question “what is wrong with their face”. Even if the animation style is supposed to be this simplistic, yet vibrant and cartoony, have some consistency in the quality of the characters that we see in every single scene. Despite the artstyle there are some scenes that just downright look like someone just smudged the screen and the only thing they didn't mess up were the clouds. Because holy crap those clouds look good. There are some scenes where the anime really embraces their chosen artstyle well and it looks extremely good and works well with the movie but then there are scenes that just aren't as well done. The animation quality just isn't consistent. Many of you might think that I'm just over exaggerating nitpicks but these are all elements of the film that can pull someone out of the experience.
Guy's, I really wanted to enjoy this movie, but I can't wholeheartedly say that I had a good time watching it. Despite a fantastic and believable reintroduction to the characters and a setup for a fun story there are so many elements of this movie that really take you out of the experience. These seemingly harmless issues eventually spiraled out of control and made being able to really enjoy the movie from start to finish difficult.
This film is really for the hardcore digimon fans who can look past all these glaring issues. But for others it might not be that great. After rewatching this film a total of three times, I can't wholeheartedly recommend it. Therefore my final rating for Digimon Adventures Tri: Reunion is;
“Backlog it”
It's not something that you'll ever have to watch, even if you are a digimon fan. I'd save it for a rainy day where you have nothing better to do. Hopefully the other movies were able to segway off this one well enough to make up for a very average return to the Digimon universe.
Thank you for watching the video, hopefully I gave you enough information to help you decide whether or not you want to watch this film or not.

P.S: If you can't be bothered to read all of this, scroll to the bottom of the review for an extremely simplified and very short review of the show. My gift to you for all you beautiful lazy people out there.
I think fear is an extremely interesting state of mind. It's fascinating to experience and see what scares you and what doesn't. It's that wide variety offered in the horror genre that makes it so popular and prominent in entertainment. However when it comes to horror in anime, it isn't really its forte, and I think that it's mainly due to the very similar
...
nature of a large majority of them. With heavy emphasis on gore and grizzly death scenes, a lot of necessary elements to making a good horror takes a backseat. Now of course, in no way shape or form does that mean that the shows are bad or not worth your time, but it does mean that for some people it isn't going to be the horror experience that they were looking for.
Having watched many horror anime, I can wholeheartedly say that these shows are really more uncomfortable to watch than they are scary. However discomfort is only one aspect out of many. I personally believe that if a horror anime is only able to make you feel one thing from a state of mind with a huge array of encompassing aspects other than discomfort, it isn't a good horror anime.
However over the years I have been fortunate enough to experience some horror anime that isn't necessarily bad, and the one that I'll be reviewing for you today is, Ghost Hunt. This show originally started airing back in October of 2006, and finished airing in March of 2007. It's a light novel adaptation with animation done by Studio J.C.Staff. So after two complete recent viewings, here is my review for Ghost Hunt.
Story:
The story follows a first year high school student named Taniyama Mai who ends up getting involved with Shibuya Kazuya, the president of the Shibuya Psychic Research Company. While Kazuya was conducting an investigation on her school's abandoned building, Mai ends up interfering and after a series of unfortunate events, Kazuya hires Mai to be his assistant to make up for the damage she caused. Thus begins the ghost hunting adventures.
First let's start with the good. The story is presented in the form of arcs. Each arc lasting between three to six episodes. Each arc covers a specific investigation that our characters are assigned. These arcs can be really hit or miss. They can either be extremely creepy, unnerving, and scary, or just extremely boring. However the way that they pace each arc, for the most part, is well executed. The slow and tense buildup is paced well and offers us insight into what exactly our characters are up against, but not to the point where we know exactly what they're dealing with. An extremely interesting element that the show has to offer is that it isn't completely grounded in reality. Because of this, during the initial exposition of each arc there's this sense of mystery to what the characters are actually dealing with, and it helps add a layer of suspense that would otherwise not be there. The show also likes to include tools, procedures, and jargon used by “real” ghost hunters. This helps mask this element of the over the top supernatural elements of the show. It bounces back between this facade of being accurate, and being more akin to a fairy tale.
When the story of each arc really starts to pickup and we start seeing unnatural things happen, the order in which we receive this information is done well. There is this smooth sense of gradual growth. We aren't thrown straight into the thick of things, rather we see the little clues, and small conversations slowly build into a worsening problem until we reach the climax. It is indeed formulaic but it's effective and get's the job done when it's done right.
Regardless of these good elements the show has multiple notable flaws in it's story. The first major problem is that the show attempts to mesh genre's that don't mix well together. It shoves in this pointless shoujo element that feels extremely jarring to watch and experience. The fundamental flaw in this is the fact that the romantic tension, and over the top character drama can really take you out of the horror experience that the show is supposed to be offering you. Other than that, there lies another problem in a few of the shows arcs.
Some of these arcs are downright boring. The reason is because a lot of the investigations prior to these are far better paced and introduced, and to a greater extent, the stakes are far higher making it seem like the story is moving backwards rather than forwards. Watching through these arcs is extremely daunting. The pacing is too slow or too fast, the characters become utterly stupid for some reason doing things that they would normally never do, and the conclusion to these arcs are unsatisfying or feel undeserved.
For the most part the show is able to offer moments of terror and discomfort whether it be through imagery, it's dialogue or the decent pacing. However there are multiple issues that really prevent the story from being the best that it could have been.
Characters:
The characters in this show are at best serviceable and I think that it's one of the shows weakest points. Starting with our female protagonist, Taniyama Mai, she's extremely unlikeable as a lead, but because she's painted as the innocent girl who wants to do good, we can get behind her basic ideals. But that's really the extent of her likeability. She falls into a category of female leads that come off as extremely preachy, and sometimes you actually begin to get annoyed with her as there are moments where you think to yourself, “are you seriously thinking about that in this current situation?”, and it's moments like this that really take you out of the experience. Along with that, it never seems like she grows as a useful character. We do get to see her become more accustomed to certain things, but she ultimately ends up still being underused and pointless. It feels as if she was only included to satisfy the shoujo aspect of the show, which strengthens my point that she's is practically a useless character.
The male protagonist of the show is Shibuya Kazuya. He is leagues better than Mai as a character. Although he does have the typical archetype of super smart, quiet, cool guy, there are hints that there are layers to him, as we learn more about who he is and why he does what he does. But to my disappointment, any resemblance of this character plot point developing is immediately eradicated as it's hardly ever touched on again. Conclusively this makes the character two dimensional and stale, and considering that he is a lead character, it's unacceptable.
As for the side characters, they too are simply just okay. I will say that the diversity of the cast is nice to see. You don't have to deal with all the characters having similar personalities. However the major flaw with these characters is that they're simply there because they have one part to play in the arc of the story. Even then they're only used to either worsen the problem, or lighten the mood. They're relationships, backstories, and overall personalities are non-existen. They simply rely on the extremely generic moral code and belief that they are the good guys to garner some sort of sympathy from the viewer.
Ultimately you only care enough about them to fear for them in moments of peril but at the same time you aren't able to really get attached to them. It's almost as if the writers couldn't be bothered to expand and flesh these characters out after they were given a brief introduction. It's because of this lack of care and attention given to these characters that a lot of the arcs in the show are poorly done. Writers can't simply come up with a story and fill it with uninteresting and poorly written characters and hope for the best. A story with terrible characters will simply amalgamate into a show with terribly written characters and an equally terrible story.
Art/Directing:
This is by far the best aspect of this anime. The bland and dark color palette that they chose to go with really helps add to the atmosphere of the show. There are some scenes where they use the darker colors to their advantage. The actual use of the color in combination with the art makes for a sleek looking show. The character designs look appealing, albeit some of them look like they were pulled straight out of a 1980's romance shoujo manga.
The interesting thing about the way that many scenes were directed and drawn is that they harken back to the very basic art of horror. Not showing what we should fear. There are multiple moments in the show where because of a certain way the frame was positioned or drawn really helped to emphasize the anxiety, the fear, and discomfort.
Without giving away too much, there is a scene that is shown from the perspective of a fallen camera, and what we get is an extremely tight shot where very little is visible until we see the decapitated head of a doll. It's directing like this that really helps make up for a lot of the issues this show has.
I didn't have any major problems with the art with the exception of Mai's character design. Compared to the other characters having a sleek and stylized design, she looks completely out of place, with her awkward body proportions and over the top facial animations. She sticks out like a sore thumb and really breaks the continuity of the overall art.
Music/Sound:
Another aspect that this show does extremely well. The music is exceptional. It offers fantastic atmospheric and tension building melodies that really keep you engaged in scenes that need you to be. Even the opening song isn't your typical J-Rock or J-Pop song to get you hyped for the episode, rather it's this eerie yet bombastic piece with opera like vocals to accompany it. To be completely honest, I found the opening song to be scarier than some of the actual “scary” scenes in this anime.
As for the sound design, it's okay. There's nothing too special in this anime that sticks out. I mean I'm not gonna say “wow the sound the of that cup shattering was really well done”. They're creepy enough to help certain scenes but other than that it's nothing too special.
Voice acting wise, it was okay as well. I am basing this off the Japanese dub, so keep that in mind. With the voice actors for Kazuya, and side characters, Takigawa Houshou and Ayako Matsuzaki being the ones to standout amongst the rest. All the other voices seemed bland and uninteresting, or too over the top and awkward to listen to. It's like the voice actors and actresses were either falling asleep, or trying to make do with an extremely lackluster script.
Final Verdict:
Ghost Hunt is a show plagued by many problems. Ranging from it's poorly written story arcs and characters. But the thing is fear is very subjective. What one person finds terrifying might be something someone else might not have a problem with. With that in mind the individual experience a person might have with this show is going to vastly differ from that of another persons.
However despite it's major flaws, I enjoyed this show. Even though I'm convinced that the writers were purposefully writing Mai to be a contender for “Worst Character of The Year” back in 2006, I can't deny that I had fun with this show. The fact that this show is episodic to a certain extent it makes it possible to pick and choose what stories you want to watch, and I highly suggest going about watching this show that way. The fact that they aren't just dealing with “ghosts” also broke up the monotony of the repetitive storyline in the specific arcs. In these different moments I hope that if you choose to watch this show, that it offers enough to satisfy your need for horror.
Are there better horror anime out there? Oh hell yeah. Still, this is a show that was extremely overlooked and is considered to be a hidden gem by many in the anime community. If you can get past the major problems of this show and simply watch it to experience some decent horror in anime, I'd say give it a go.
This isn't a show that you need to go out of your way to watch, and you may never get it to it. You might even completely ignore the fact that this show exists.
Therefore my final rating for the show is: “Backlog It”

Before I start this review I wanted to let you know that I want to focus more of my time on the character portion of this show mainly because that is this shows biggest drawback. I will briefly go over the story, art, sound, and my overall enjoyment and score. But again I will be focusing more on the characters in this review.
Story: Aldnoah.Zero is an obvious homage to the gundam series and it succeeds in creating very cool and interesting action scenes. This shows story is simple yet there are a lot of factors surrounding it that make is unique in it's own
...
right. In short words the story is good enough to keep you watching until the end but it isn't going to please everyone.
Art: The art aside from the action sequences with the CGI, is very simplistic. The art I felt was perfect for the show. Especially the colors they chose. The colors in the art can be vibrant but also bleak and it adds to the show depending on the story. In short the art makes the show more enjoyable.
Sound: This is by far the best part of Aldnoah.Zero. I loved every part of the soundtrack. I would definitely buy the OST and listen to it on a daily basis. The songs range from high octane vocals, to powerful orchestral pieces, as well as the calm and soothing songs that fit well and make the viewing experience an absolute blast.
Characters: Okay this is where it's going to get quite long. Now I want to get out that I feel as though the writers wanted to take these characters somewhere and wanted to have some depth, but that's all they really were, wants, and wishes. These characters are just boring empty shells that try to be this deep and complex character when they aren't. I specifically want to talk about Inaho as I believe contrary to almost everyone saying that he is the best character, Inaho is the worst character ever written in anime. Now that is taking it a stretch but I can't help but think that it's true. The writers were lazy, and didn't do anything with a character that showed promise. Inaho is just another typical badass silent type character. There are so many questions left unaswered that makes me just not care about Inaho. Why is he so good at that? Why is he so good at this? Why can he do this but nobody else can't? Why can this Highschool student do this? It's extremely pathetic and unacceptable that writers are just spoon feeding this crap to us. I felt no connection, and sympathy from him as a character. You can tell that the writers just want to do something with him but they just aren't doing anything. I believe that this is partially us, the anime communities fault. Instead of wanting well-written characters that have personalities, morals, and actual backstory we just want a badass character who pulls all the girls. Inaho was literally just used to push the plot forward and act on his own accord. Pretty much all the other side characters are equal with Inaho in every aspect, and when a supposed main character is about as interesting as a empty boring side character you have failed. Inaho has potential, but I found him to be the hardest thing to watch. In short I disliked Inaho as a character the most. The princess was also pathetically written, again other than having no reason in the story other than making it convenient for Inaho and the other people to proceed throughout the story in a boring one-dimensional way.
Now there is a whole controversy with Slaine that has the anime community in a huge divide. I found that Slaine was the only decently well written character. He showed emotion, he went through hardships we got to see why he cares so much for characters, and we get to see him, grow as a character which makes me actually care for him. A lot of people tend to just hate on Slaine without really thinking about the things that he as a character has gone through and don't consider his standing on things. Instead he get's hated on by the community because he did something at the end that people didn't like. Slaine was written as a character that acts on emotions. It's extremely obvious that after being shot down by Inaho, for no good reason in an earlier episode, even after swooping down and helping him that he would not be on good terms with Inaho. Slaine shows some depth as a character and more promise than any other character in this show. Another descent character with potential is that one soldier guy who's friend died.
Enjoyment: This show has it's moments, and when they happen they're an awesome spectacle. But I can't help but not enjoy this show because of how poorly the characters are done. You know the most important aspect of the show?
This show had so much potential and it still might, due to there being a second season airing now. But this first season I can't help but say that I had a hard time watching it.
Overall: I find myself getting angry because this medium called anime that I grew up with is constantly getting worse. I grew up watching animes like Cowboy Bepop, Lupin the Third, and although those shows are from way back, "The anime industry is changing" isn't a valid excuse as to why we are getting crappy anime year after year. Aldnoah.Zero is a letdown overall. I wanted to enjoy this series, and occasionally I did, but it does so much wrong that I can't recommend it to anyone unless you are looking for a mech anime because you've seen every single other mech anime out there.

It's not very often I walk into an anime having no prior knowledge about it and actually enjoying it. Now I am a person with simple tastes considering HoTD is a guilty pleasure of mine, but Zankyou no Terror despite it's small problems is one of the best animes the season had to offer. To put it in a short and simple way, go watch this show.
Now here is an actual review.
Story/Characters: The story in this is never perfectly explained. All I'm going to tell you is that there are two characters, Nine and Twelve, who want to destroy Tokyo and some other
...
major characters that include Shibazaki and Lisa. I won't mention any other characters to prevent spoilers. I personally believe that Zankyou no Terrors character development it one of the weakest aspects of the show. Some may disagree but I felt as though characters like Lisa were introduced and never used and never deepened. Although you get to see characters like Lisa grow in situations it never feels natural. It somewhat feels forced all the way throughout the end. But one thing that this show does very well is definitely character interaction. The conversations between Twelve and Lisa are fun and enjoyable while conflicts involving Shibazaki are intense and very well written. There are also some very amazingly well written sequences one involving a Ferris wheel which was one of the best scenes in my opinion.
Art: The art is absolutely stunning. It's up to par with most anime movie animations. The art uses very contrasting colors in my opinion. Sometimes there will be a lot of light and then it will switch back to a darker color palette, but it all feels natural making the art flow throughout the entire show.
Sound: This is one of the few anime's where I have actually purchased the soundtrack and listened through to the very end. I rarely ever do this and that definitely says something about the soundtrack. Not to mention the God-given anime music composer Yoko Kanno worked on this. So of course the music is phenomenal.
Now the enjoyment factor of this show is going to vary person to person because for some people this show will feel slow and uninteresting which I gathered from asking many people who also watched the show. For some people this show is going to be very interesting and suspenseful which it was for me. I was never bored and I always wanted to see what happened next. This is an amazing show. But for some of you, there is a possibility that this show is going to be very boring and annoying. I can't say this for myself but I can speak for the people who have seen the show and have disliked it. Overall I say you should at least check it out and give it the 3 episode rule.

I was very hesitant on writing a review for this show because I felt as though my words couldn't express how beautiful, thought provoking, and emotional this series was. But here I am finally writing a review. This show seems to be very underrated because nobody I ask has seen it before. Anyway on with the review.
Story: The story is about a boy named Natsume Takashi who could see yokai all his life, and when he inherits his grandmother, Natsume Reikos', "Book of Friends" he finds out that they both had the ability to see yokai. Now Natsume and his "bodyguard" Madara tries to
...
return all of the names in the book to the yokai who had owned it.
Each episode Natsume, and Madara run into a new yokai and is asked to do something for the yokai. Whether it be returning their name or asking for help with something. It might seem like a very simple story, and it is but Natsume Yuujinchou is really about the relationships between humans and yokai as well as learning to understand them and live with them. Each episodes has a meaning or a lesson that doesn't feel forced but the complete opposite, you accept it wholeheartedly. It might be sad, bittersweet, or heartwarming but those different aspects is what makes this show so great.
Art: The art is different from your typical anime and it fits extremely well with the anime. It can be funny at times, and it can be downright beautiful as well. The way the world is drawn is absolutely beautiful and vibrant. The characters aren't too realistic but are drawn to fit perfectly with the vibe of the show.
Sound: My words can't really do justice to how beautiful the soundtrack is. It is so calming and soothing and it really fits extremely well with events that happen in the show. The music is never out of place and is an absolute joy to listen to. Even the opening and the endings are fantastic. If I had a sound track for this anime I would be able to listen to it all day. The music is really an experience of its own.
Characters: All the characters in this show are lovable and well developed, and the show really handles the growth of Natsume as a character very well.
The Yokai's are all very different and it makes watching Natsume and Madara learn, help, and bond with these different characters an absolute joy. Many of these yokai have beautiful, tragic, sad, and very interesting back stories which keeps you coming back to see or learn more about them.
Enjoyment: I cannot tell you how much I have re-watched this show. It is an absolute joy to watch through and through, over and over again. I love the themes, the message, and the sheer beauty that Natsume Yuujinchou has to offer.
Overall: Although no anime is ever perfect I want to say that this is perfection. It is an anime that can keep me entertained, intrigued, emotionally attached, and it has made me feel many different emotions that no other anime has made me go through. Everyone should watch or give this anime a try.

Note:This review is based on the original Japanese dub not the English dub.
This is one of those shows that require no introduction but just in case you do need one. The show centers around the protagonist Monkey D. Luffy and his crew and the adventures that they go on so that they can each accomplish their dreams and goals. It is one of the many few shonen anime that can keep my attention and keep me engaged and excited for the next episode.
Story 9/10
The story might seem very simple on the surface, but as you get further into the anime, the show begins
...
to show layers with many themes of friendship, trust, loss, and many different things that drive the show. The story really has many layers that can't necessarily be explained by words,so i'll leave judgment of story up to the viewers, but in my opinion the story isn't the only thing that makes this show amazing.
Characters 10/10
I believe that One Piece has an amazing diverse cast of characters with most if not all characters being able to be well developed in the amount of time that they get. All the characters are memorable, lovable, and outright very well developed. Enough so that they make me actually care for each character that is introduced. The characters truly make up the world and really push the enjoyment factor so high I wish I could rate it higher.
Art 7/10
Due to this being a weekly shonen show with many many episodes the animation is bound to have its ups and downs, but when the animations shines it really shines and when it doesn't, it shows.
Sound 9/10
The music and voice acting of this show is amazing. I can't tell you how many times I will hum one of the many opening songs or instrumental pieces while I'm outside. There are some times when I don't really like some of the voices of some characters but that is just from my own personal opinion.
Overall 10/10
There are some flaws that I have not mentioned but I believe that this show overshadows all those flaws with it's amazing world, fantastic cast of characters, and amazing storytelling. I would recommend One Piece to anyone. One Piece really is in my opinion a truly amazing anime.

Kyoukai no Kanata is a prime example of a big budget anime that fails to deliver all the possible potential it has to be a good show. But don't let this opening comment fool you. Read on and find out if the show really does fail!
The story was a fairly decent one but at times it didn't know what it wanted to be or what direction to go in, switching genres and putting them into scenes that wouldn't necessarily mix well together. Then adding different story layers to an already jumpy one makes the story aspect of the show harder to enjoy and overall making
...
it an anime that you might want to drop, but don't let the flaws of the story stop you from watching because the story is not bad, it just doesn't know what be and when to be it at the right time.
The characters I feel are what saves the show from its somewhat flawed story. There are a flurry of main and side characters that you will come to love and enjoy watching through this 12 episode anime. One thing I think this show does well is giving the characters time to develop by sometimes dedicating and episode to the development of one or two characters as well as the relationship between 2 or more characters. It adds something to the story to make it worth watching to see how these characters interact and make it through tough situations they are in. Akihito Kanbara is a great main character as you see him develop and cope with the conflicts that happen throughout the story along with Mirai Kuriyama who develops alongside Kanbara. Even side characters are enjoyable although not getting as much development(obviously).
The art is something that doesn't even need to be mentioned because as I stated before this is an anime that you can clearly tell has a big budget, and whats a better way to show that to the viewer than to flaunt amazing, and fluid animation to the viewer in each episode. Along side those Moe moments that tend to make you go "awwww" inside your head. The art I can say is pretty damn good.
The music itself is not something that you will be remembering a week after you complete this show and it might be something that might not have even stuck out to you, but that's just how I personally felt. Other than the very catchy opening song the music is just there to add to the mood of the show and won't be very memorable.
Overall you shouldn't let the flaws of the story keep you from watching this big budget, well animated show that has a flurry of fun, enjoyable, and well developed characters. Although there is nothing too great about the story or music, the pure enjoyment I got from the characters and art makes this well worth watching through even if it is only once.
Kyoukai no Kanata gets a 8/10

NOTE:This is an Ecchi, Harem Anime. Know what you're getting into.
It took me the 23 minuets or the entire first episode to understand that the DxD actually meant Double D. Although not all the characters have Doubles D's to be exact this is an anime full of ass, ass, ass, tits, tits, and tits.
There is nothing special about this show other than it's ability show as much nudity equivalent to the amount of gore that can be found in Gantz or other Seinen manga or shows. But you have to applaud this show for being good at what it was meant to do. Give the
...
majority male audience a cock tease.
For story well there is kind of a story...and it's actually a pretty enjoyable one. I never thought I would say that I actually enjoyed the story of an Ecchi anime but somehow this story intrigued me. Along with a pretty badass climax I feel as though you can honestly enjoy this show if you can make it through the cock tease we all know that perverts like me originally come to watch the show for. But I was surprised and I feel like underneath all them asses, and titties is another group of asses, and titties but under that is a fairly enjoyable anime. The comedy is also there giving me a few laughs here and there.
The characters are quite likable as well and the villains do a good job in being dickheads. Obviously because this anime is one huge cock tease...wait what? The romance actually kind of goes somewhere? NICE. But in order to get to that point you have to get past the usual predictable ecchi, harem anime norms of getting caught doing something pervy, or about to get it on then getting stopped, etc. But overall the characters do develop and it's fun to see. As for the likability of these characters they are all pretty likable.
Overall this is a simple anime with voluptuous, jiggly, animated tits, and some very nice animated ass, with a surprisingly enjoyable story and characters where if you can just shut your brain off and just watch you will enjoy quiet a bit.

People say this show went downhill after a little "Gorilla" twist that happened in the series. But I say that this is a series that has a lot of unexpected twists that slowly grow on you.
I think after binge watching this Sentai....I mean Anime show, I can safely say that I thoroughly enjoyed the shit out of this show. I'll start by saying that the twists that this anime takes is a matter of taste. You can either hate it or really love it. For me I was on both ends of the argument but still loved the show.
This show has a way of
...
continuously drawing the viewer in by throwing these twists after the end of each arc. After the initial 6 episodes of the series I felt like the twist was something that this series needed. The story is all over the place and has some of wackiest things that I've ever seen but it somehow manages to keep me intrigued but not confused on where the overall plot or story is trying to get to. Now what I meant when I said that I was on both ends of whether the twists were a love or hate, sometimes the twists take at least an episode or two for you to actually understand what is happening and when the initial twist happens you might not want to watch the next episode and that's where the hate part comes in but after making through the initial twist I feel as though the story will grow on you.
This leads me into talking about how well the show unfolded its story and how well this show was paced. There was never a dull moment in this show for me, ever. Almost all of the characters are likable with the exception of one character. The main character Masayoshi was one of the funniest and well developed characters alongside Gotou who had amazing chemistry with Masayoshi. The only character I felt was a little lackluster was Maya because although she played an important role in developing Masayoshi, I felt as though she was the characater that had the least character development and I was a bit disappointed with the the development that she had gotten. Other than that I enjoyed all the characters thoroughly.
Overall the series like I said is a matter of taste after the first couple episodes and whether you choose to drop it or keep watching is up to you, but I highly recommend you continue because the twists are interesting, the characters are well developed, and fun. Combine these things with two highly catchy opening songs and a soundtrack that is both somber, and intense I feel as though this anime was one of the best shows I've seen in a while, enough so that it has now become one of my favorite anime that I will continue to go back and watch.

Sword Art Online is a great example of an anime that had the potential to be great with a concept that has been done before but with a possible twist, but why Sword Art Online fails is not because of the animation (Obviously) or the overall Story but in the way the show unfolds the story. I'll explain.
Starting with story, it's fairly simple. The main and, side characters are thrust into a game world where they cannot log out and if they die in the game they will die in reality. See Fairly simple concept and nothing is wrong with this concept, what I meant
...
when I said the problem was how to story unfolded was because of the characters and the pacing in which this story was told. The show has many parts where you feel unfulfilled such as when the story introduces us with filler in the first couple episodes I immediately feel as though they are trying to say "Are you enjoying the show? I hope so because I have a surprise for you...IT'S FILLER." The only reason the filler was there was to show that the main character Kirito get's his new weapons or meet some useless characters that in no way enhance or add to the plot. Actually you don't see any of the characters from those episodes ever again. Now the filler isn't also the problem. On the note of Kirito the story makes him literally invincible just for the sake of being the character that will always save the day, so there is nothing to relate to and no reason for use to get attached to this character or the story that follows. There is also the issue of pacing. The Pacing is absolutely atrocious. Now that's not to say I didn't kind of enjoy the first half of the series. The problem is how I felt like they rushed the entire first half of the series just to continue to rush the second half. At times they would just slow down and dedicate 2-3 episodes on character development where the characters don't develop. You kind of get the gist of what I'm trying to say here.
Characters are practically bland and there is really nothing good to say about these characters. None of these characters really develop. Let's start with the main character Kirito. Kirito is one of the most cardboard characters I have seen in Anime in a while. From the very start Kirito was overpowered as I said just for the sake of being overpowered so that he can be the one to save the day. He never really develops as a character, when you feel as though he might develop in an episode the very next one he returns to the bland cardboard character he was to begin with. Same thing with Asuna and most of the other characters in the show.
One thing this show does right though is the art and music. The art is absolutely beautiful and the action scenes look amazing. Combine these beautiful, and well animated action scenes with great music which was the only memorable thing that came from this show made the show worth pushing through.
Overall I feel like there is too much wrong with this show to actually have enjoyed a lot of it. It was a hassle for me to personally watch through this series. Although you might not agree I feel as though although the music, and the art was great nothing else was executed very well. So if you are just looking for something to just watch in your free time I'm sure you could find something else but if you insist watch this and see for yourself. There isn't much to keep you engrossed in the story or the characters but the show is worth watching for the animating and music.
