At face value, Gigant is an excuse to cater to the fetish of being enveloped in the enormous bosom of a giantess. In that aspect it, Gigant succeeds. There's post-coitus scenes of a normie being held by Chiho in giant form, there's plenty of panels devoted to city goers witnessing Chiho's transformation and gawking at the scale of her figure, and, best of all, Chiho's boobs travel in all sorts of directions - a ridiculousness that is acknowledged and embraced by the manga. Chiho is the most developed character ... by far though the bar is rather low and the generous amount panels dedicated to fan service and her naked body certainly helps. And it certainly helps that her body looks indeed good - her boobs are large but look natural and her proportions are appealing which leads to all the scenes where she's giant and naked to be the strongest parts of the manga.

..which means the parts that don't center on Chiho a huge drag with Rei being the primary culprit. Rei almost seems like ragebait on how hateable he is. He cries…A LOT and offers nothing in terms of humor or primary struggle against the antagonists. Movie references fail to add any personality to this simp. He essentially guilts Chiho into going out with him by groveling and he asks Chiho to marry him right away - what a desperate spineless whiner. I wanted to say that Gigant is a teenager's wet dream where he gets to make movies and fuck a pornstar every other night but Rei comes off terribly in this manga - he essentially contributes nothing good to the story which is barely there to begin with.

Gigant is a monster of the week without any overarching antagonist or unraveling plot. The website ETE provides some intrigue and could've provided some commentary on the worst desires of people on the interest but that potential is squandered. Life in the world seems surprisingly unaffected by the presence of giants which you'd think have profound impacts. At least the time travelers provide a bit of much needed levity (through their love of noodles and their outfits).

While there is nudity and violence in the manga, it's the PG-13 variety. There's tits and ass but there could have been some naked ridiculousness explored with a giant lady (feel like she should have sat on someone/something to kill it). The gore is also limited to non-humans - you swear this manga would take a brutal turn but ultimately doesn't. Oh, and many panels feature people crying or crying out who look like they're having orgasms.

A non-stop, zany, cake-filled action manga featuring a boatload of characters, awesome boats, nuclear-scale kaiju, nuclear tits, a remarkable amount of world-building, transformations, fuckin faces on vehicles, and supernatural appendages in 15 chapters. They somehow included filler material.

Wadatsumi follows a young boy and some older men living on a remote island when a band of plucky pirates come storming in looking for a young girl who has washed ashore. Characters appear suddenly and in bunches. No, they're not in-depth characters but they're all designed distinctly and they look fantastic especially once Wadatsumi is transformed to a dark haired, fiery eyed buxom (which the ... old men who once knew her as a young boy ogle freely but don't think about it too much). The characters never look awkward but always look funny or badass and more importantly, totally stacked and the vehicles are the 90's era where they have faces on the them or are shaped like sharks.

The fan service does distract from the rather horrible panel story-telling - it's hard as hell to determine what exactly is going one especially in fight sequences. The story is itself is standard and takes a backseat to world-building despite the non-stop action.

Even with weak story-telling, Wadatsumi is brief, busty as fuck, and is FLCL-zany so low-stakes enjoyable.

Lewd but not sexy - the nudity is cheap and often like a hentai without much setup. One panel there's nothing, next panel it's kunoichi tied up, clothes tattered and torn - only for the situation to be resolved in the subsequent panel. Hope you like rope bondage - it's by far the most used fetish manga, instead of you know - something that involves kunoichi. The rampant but delicately drawn lewdness is a bit more pervasive than standard fan service and often grinds the plot to a halt/replaces the plot that is severely lacking in action. A plot that is severely lacking in action. ... There are 'fight' scenes but these are whiplash inducing sequences where a character performs one tiny move, there's three pages of rope bondage (ugh), and then the enemy is defeated - there's no emphasis on an attack or move peppered with a nice boob or ass shot - it's just tiny move then rope bondage. This is only a slight shame as only Erina and Ayame have memorable character designs. Ayame's many underboob scenes are great since they're great fan service that doesn't replace the story and are infinitely more sexy than the many fully nude bondage panels.

You're reading this to gawk at some huge anime tiddies in the context of the inherit tension of familial taboo - this gets you some of that. The booba looks great despite the enormity and the manga finds multiple ways to show them off. Oddly, the artists may not have a grip on drawing ass - the very few shots you see of cheek reveal an unnatural looking lift with not enough thigh to offset. Each chapter is a scenario with some tension, even if they're some of the most vanilla scenarios you can imagine - studying, massaging, etc. Each scenario almost always involves just ... the two main characters at home - which severely limits the kind and stakes of the predicaments they can be placed. That said, the manga is a breeze and you can do a lot worse to get you daily dose of booba.

A flashy, sexy harem shonen: plenty of pretty, stylish girls with fantastic legs and well-shaped and dynamic oppai. Distinctions among the numerous ladies stem from the look of their faces and expressions - not just their clothes, or in the case of switching to Mikuru, the size/emphasis of the boobs. The liberal use of ignoring panel boundaries facilities beautiful, and often contorting (strategically so) bodies fighting across pages of the manga. It is a little Buck Zumhofe of sexualizing the clearly young-coded Ginga and the sleepy, Orihime-esque Izuru is a bit forgettable to look at. It's also a bit head-scratching they don't go all tits-out ... with the majority of their well-drawn female cast. The amazing art direction unfortunately isn't paired with an amazing or genre-breaking story. The MC is the standard incel-lite (though I appreciate his expression through Kamen Rider) who somehow the only character who can tame the beast that is Zero. The manga commits cast bloat pretty quickly and the main antagonists get lost in the mix and don't even get a proper ending. There's no sense of real urgency to the manga as the characters more or less defeat episodic threats so it's a bit mindless but a driving or envelope-pushing plot may not the be real appeal of this manga anyways.

Don't dwell on what could've been a successful anime series but appreciate what you had with this two part OVA: some rather memorable character designs, both necessary (Kagari - the big tiddy goth gf antagonist) and unnecessary nudity, decent action, a teeth clenching cringey romance involving a young teen and an adult, and a skull-scratching conclusion to the final bout in the second episode. No doubt, had the series gone longer, Miho would've garnered the screen time the first episode promised but perhaps we would've been subject to the baffling romance between Linn and the young adult - enough interesting material could've been had with ... Linn's country gal teen in the city schtick without stifling her with some grown otaku with a design general reserved for peeping toms and side gags. Watching Linn overcome her enemies and Kagari's milkers try to keep up with her intensity do make this quick OVA a worthy watch. Up the schadenfreude with the English dub (Linn's accent = chef's kiss).

The ol hardboiled private eye male fantasy where protagonist smokes like a chimney, fucks like a champ, punches like a brute, sports coats like Columbo, overcomes drug addictions and is cool as cat in the face of the city's never-ending supply of crooks and inept police force. Paris serves as an awesome background for this manga, with scene-setting panels really capturing the Parisian flair and sprawl. Dingo's heavy eyebrows and goofy grin - pretty cool - the rest of the generic Parisians, especially the look-alike women who just have sex and nothing else - not so cool. Even if there were other memorable character designs, ... they wouldn't stay long due to the brevity of Dingo's howcatchem tales. Each story's too short to build any kind of stakes (Dingo's too strong anyways) and start to blend due to many of the characters looking too similar. The rugged main character and setting lend coolness to this manga but the throwaway stories make it unessential.

It's funny to read contemporary critics panning this movie for being difficult to get - there's no need for multi-page high school essays or multi-hour YouTube theory videos to enjoy a plot-light, setup-heavy dystopian mood. For something with little plot, it's animation, mood, and characters better excel and this movie achieves most of them. The mix of World War II Europe, HR Giger, and lifeless forested scapes a bleak and desolate world in an alternative timeline where something catastrophic has occurred to the world (maybe ours, maybe not). It's a tone not too dissimilar from other desolate dystopian futures. The animation has moments to shine ... with some closeups, the girls hair flailing around, and shadow play but feels memorable than the backgrounds. Humanizing the little girl and man definitely play second fiddle to what they represent but the movie does get the viewer to cheer for the girl (our hope) and be skeptical of the man (Noah?). What does it all mean? Is it Noah rounding up any escaped life from his ark, preserving them permanently in stone, and ensuring no doves ever return by destroying the egg? Perhaps not. But the movie does present an interesting setup and features themes that in future Oshii works so it can't hurt to watch.

Beauty and animation are the core of this anime- the animation quality is abundant throughout the entirety of the OVA though extra special moments such as the festival in the second episode or many of the fight scenes in the latter half do standout. The painted backgrounds cannot be praised enough for their variety, gravity, and overall artistic appeal. It feels like half the OVA is panning of the background and that's definitely not a detriment. The character designs are elegant and move with grace during intense scenes. Tiara makes for a magnificent canvas for trying out various poses (greatly helped with her Barbie-like ... frame), sports dynamic hair and an expressive face, and touts the tight and revealing clothing to provide eye candy though this is well-controlled and by no means an ecchi anime. It also helps that Tiara is the most intriguing character - a somewhat hot-headed magical girl but does listen to those around her. The story is simple is slow-paced, content to showcase the animation rather than tons of action. The ending is admittedly inconclusive with little payoff. Shamanic Princess is a wonderful, beautiful fantasy anime OVA.

I love how the first two and a half minutes is ominous and the daughter (with a dramatic pause) names the creation "Graham" lol.

A fantastic action OVA that absolutely needs a sequel or at least needed to last longer. The animation strikes a balance of lanky and beautiful shojo characters with muscular guns and action all set to a rad soundtrack. The opening shoot out is awesome but Marie and her crew get enough character development in so they're not faceless. The casts leans more beauty than sexy and thats for the better so the OVA isn't mired in fan service. The plot is very James Bond but thats not a bad thing as its easy to follow.

There is a want for a final shootout to cap ... off this singular OVA.
