I don't get the hype around this show. Its kinda just like the average shounen series you would see come out every couple years that people freak out about and shoot to the top 100. This show is pretty much just majority action with some admittedly nice character and slice of life moments sprinkled throughout, but honestly I find myself really only enjoying it for the latter. Even then, there's nothing here that I couldn't get the same if not more from another show. Honestly, I cant really say too much bad about it, but I cant really say I loved too much of it ... either. If you're a fan of action, superpowers, and shows like JJK, its worth a watch, but if not then there's nothing really groundbreaking done in the narrative here.

BNA is a show that's honestly pretty decent but like while I was watching through the season, the thought of "I could be watching beastars instead" repeatedly came up. This is because BNA is kinda like beastars if it were worse in story but also if it had a great art style. If I'm being honest, the fact that studio trigger made it was like 90% of the reason I watched this show. The Slice of Life elements with Michiru trying to blend into Anima City is great, I wont lie, but a decent amount of the plot points in the latter half of the ... show bored me. These plot points kinda make me think they saw what beastars and like zootopia did and thought "we've gotta do that too!!", when they really didnt need to. I think this show would've been great as more of a Slice of Life with the beastmen's stuggle mixed in, rather than the Slice of Life element being sidelined by like episode 5. Overall still an enjoyable watch, but I just think its competitors did the 'animals in a city but they all hate each other for one reason or another' genre better.

This anime is genuinely just such a nothing burger that I don't even know how I would write a full review that's more than like a paragraph. The story is basic, with tropes done a million times over. This would be okay if the characters were well written, in order to make things interesting, but genuinely for all characters but the last one you could summarize them in like half a sentence. Even then, the last character could be summarized in like 3 sentences. The runtime for this show is very short at about just shy of 40 minutes for the season, but even then ... it feels like there's a lot of padding, partially also due to the choice of not having a main character, being shot from a POV. This is, once again, fine if the characters are interesting to make up for it, but they just aren't. It's just kind of a strange choice in my opinion. This show is just unoffensive, uninteresting, and has practically nothing memorable about it aside from the art style which is kinda good.

Romantic Killer is a show about poking fun at common anime tropes, and is honestly entertaining to watch each attempt at a romance be crushed by the main character. Its an interesting take on the genre and it definitely works in accomplishing what it sets out to do. To avoid spoilers, I wont go into detail but this series genuinely dropped the ball at the very last moment. This moment was a scene that was anime-only (as far as I know) and I seriously cannot figure out why they would do it. This scene alone drops this series from like an 8 to a 5 ... or 6. It doesn't add anything to the plot, develop a character, or anything but solely to undermine what the second half of the show was talking about and to potentially set up another season despite the manga finishing with season 1. They should've just ended the show like they did the manga, and it would've been so much better.

Yurukyan is the most relaxing anime I have ever seen. This anime provides such a unique and calming experience to the viewer, making it very hard to dislike. The atmosphere, the art, the music, and the characters are all wonderful, with a very slow pace that fits it well. The humour is also not over the top, adding to the calming effect this series has. This series has a charm that will reignite plenty of people's passion in the outdoors and camping, as well as provide a welcoming experience to those who are new to anime as well. Even to those that aren't interested ... in camping and the outdoors, This series is still one that I couldn't recommend enough.

Sousou no Frieren is a show that has been absolutely amazing so far, and it deserves all of the positive attention that it has gotten this past season.

This show has an amazing start. It is a combination of great characters, OST, the OPs and ED are both perfect for the show, on top of breathtaking art and a cool story to unravel. The first couple episodes alone are some of the best anime episodes I have probably ever seen, leading me to think that it may naturally drop off after a little while. To my surprise, the quality continued and I found myself only wanting ... more and more.

The fights don't stay longer than they need to be, as its not the kind of show that would need long or drawn out fights. This show is about the characters we come to meet, and how Frieren develops over the course of her journey with her party. The pacing is intentionally slow with humour not being over the top, creating a very subtle atmosphere that the show thrives in. This approach is one that could have driven some potential viewers away, seeing as how a lot of anime is very over the top, but in the end it creates a very unique experience that's very charming in that sense. Is this show the best of 2023? Definitely, in my opinion.

This show is a fever dream. A fever dream that i enjoyed actually.

Space Patrol Luluco is a show that has an absolutely breakneck pace without any sort of break or downtime. This makes sense, as its total runtime of the series is just under 2 hours, 90 if you skip the OP and ED. In classic trigger style, they make a show that has a very unique art style and is honestly half the reason behind my score. The story was good, with a pretty sweet ending. The message is the usual "follow your heart" but honestly the way its conveyed is enough to forgive ... that.

Essentially, its a show with a normal message, a rather entertaining story, and great art that just makes it stand out from most other anime. Even if you're still on the fence, the average episode is 8 minutes, so its worth at least trying.

Mob Psycho 100 is a really fun shounen manga that borrows the same sort of style from One's other work, One Punch Man. It works great as both and action and a comedy anime, as most of the jokes hit. The art style is fun, yet loose which makes it look very unique in comparison to the other anime that came out around the same time as this one, making it both stand out and also being very nice to look at. The animation and story was good, but what people stay for would be the characters, which really take the cake in this one. ... I loved all the different people Mob meets through the seasons, and felt they supported the show greatly. Definitely watch this one, you wont regret it.
