My first Yuri Anime was Citrus.
Bloom into you is nothing like Citrus, and focuses on a complex relationship. It handles the relationship development in quite a mature way, which is pretty good.
Story:
I find it hard to tell, if it is a Yuri-Anime or not, since the girls do not fall into a explicit category of lesbian or anything. They harbour a complex identity, with one afraid of falling in love and other cannot love anyone.
The other one (Yuu) feels like she identifies herself as asexual, though can't say uptill Ep 7.
The way their relation is handled is quite well, but requires a certain maturity to
...
understand whats going on. Hence, I won't recommend it to any person who doesn't have that maturity to respect what's going on here.
Art : Beautiful.
OP : It has an eerie vibe associated to it. Never knew flowers could have an eerie feel associated with them. It's just fantastic
Also the small references, like the Ice-Cream Tear, and the two droplets of coffee separating apart (Ep 7) throws a light into the small details crafted by the animators and director.
Sound : OP/ED is again pretty good. Song added to playlist.
Overall : 10 / 10
It is better than Citrus like anime, and handles a delicate relationship very well. (atleast up till Ep 7)
Looking forward for the rest of the Anime.
Cheer

** WARNING : Contains Spoilers **
One of the best Zombie Apocalypse Anime I have ever seen. It is about a group of girls, trying to live off in the world affected by zombie Apocalypse.
This Anime starts off as a Moe Anime, but gets dark in the First Episode itself. It isn't the zombies that make it dark.
The only thing that sets it different from other Animes, is Yuki (Main Character) who refuses the accept the zombie Apocalypse and pretends everything is fine.
She talks to her friends as if they are present, alive, and attending school just like she is. Unfortunately, they have all turned to
...
zombies.
We see the reason for this peculiar behaviour explained in the last few episodes. The reason is sad and depressing. Although one might speculate it as a reaction to having lost her friends, there is something else to it.
** Spoilers ahead : Don't read if you haven't watched the anime. 100% Recommended to watch **
I haven't cried for so some time. After binge watching Your Lie in April, Clannad, followed by Violet Evergarden etc.., this Anime adds to the list.
Characters:
* Yuki : (Main Character) She has lost her friends, and someone really close to her. Megu-nee held her with love. She tries to keep her promise to Megu-nee of "never losing the smile", and thus ends up pretending everyone was alive and OK. Her loss drove her into insanity and thus she began to refuse the reality, and the moe nature originates.
Though she might seem as a burden, It is important to remember, that we are trying to save humanity. If we were to ditch a non infected human, It won't make us different than the zombies.
* Kurumi : She knows how to wield the sword (shovel in this case :p), and fight. She is only one who had thrown out her feelings and fear for the zombies and was able to kill them.
* Yuri : She does practically nothing, but is the brains of the school-live! club. Her uncanny resemblance to Megu-nee is gradually revealed though.
(!Spoilers)
* Miki : She is the only person not to have met Megu-nee. Atleast not till the end.
* Megu-Nee : Teacher at this school.
Ex Teacher at this school.
Initially, she pops out of nowhere and only talks with Yuki. She can't hold stuff and says they are too heavy. No one else talks to her. Her teleporting herself into the car (Ep 4) was creepy. One can foresee, she isn't alive, and is just a mental image created by Yuki.
She plays an important role in creating the school-live club and guiding it in the initial stages. She gets infected protecting the children, and turns into a zombie. Yuki was the only person, who could not accept it, and began her hallucinations.
She tried to keep her promise of "always smiling".
She was the guide in life and in death.
I lost it when Yuki says "Bye-Bye Megu-nee".. :'(
Honourable Mentions:
* Taroumaru : A dog, a friend and the second zombie to have helped the club. RIP. You shall be remembered for your bravery and loyal nature. RIP, my friend.
* Zombies : They play a important role too. Zombies tend to remember the memories. The reason they hang around near school is that they loved to come to school. This love had been etched into their memories, and is the reason why they came to school everyday.
Plot : This Anime is not much of Horror, but of Psychological and Slice of Life Genre.
Both these elements are strong enough to make a good plot.
The group of girls take shelter at the school, which surprisingly had lot of amenities like Solar powered electricity, rooftop garden (vegetables were grown), and what not. Perfect for taking shelter in a zombie Apocalypse.
Is this a coincidence? No. The reason is also revealed later as to why the amenities were there in the first place.
The girls spend their days living in the school, cooking food, cleaning, and routine checks and trips for rations etc.
Yuki spends her time in classroom, being tutored by a delusional Megu-nee.
Yuki's memory return gradually. And accepts the reality. Although she saw it with her own eyes, she refused to believe it. It was sad and depressing when Yuki talks to that door. :(
It is ok to be sad for one's death. The important thing is to let go
and not let your emotions take over to the extreme that you refuse to accept reality.
(A similar message was given in the Anime : "Another" )
*Episode specific*
For people who feel they are just doing nothing, there isn't much to be done. A school is NOT equipped with killing equipments.
Also, for those who say, why they returned to school, instead of going away, that's becaue
- the school had electricity, water, food supplies.
- Power was cut off at other places
- They realized the potential of the school in keeping them alive. Any other place, they would have died earlier.
- They thought the infection had spread to a very wide range. They might not be able to travel that distance with a car without getting out of fuel. (Remember power is cut, so gas stations are useless), unless they find a way to dig into the underground fuel tank.
- They didn't knew of any other shelter places.
So, it made sense to return back to school.
Also, many people feel why they didn't go on a killing spree. It is important to remember that they are children. Murder is not a native instinct, especially not for a child.
The story is excellent. And one of the unique zombie apocalypse. Personally, it is the best one. I cried the last 2-3 Episodes (the whole episode) :'( .
Overall : 10 / 10 (A recommended watch)

Never expected to be this good!
"The Hentai Prince and the stony cat!" is really under-rated for the content it actually carries. I had expected a harem go-lucky anime, but this anime has a real plot, a real good plot. (along with plenty ecchi stuff).
The Plot gets slightly darker as you dwell further into the episodes. The Story is nice. At first it starts off as a normal ecchi stuff, but gradually progresses to unveil the real plot.
Art : Good
Sound : Normal Effects were good. But the OP/ED weren't really very catchy. So it is just ok.
...
Characters: The Neko God was real savage.
Leaving a 10 rating since it is quite underrated. Otherwise I would have given a 8-9 rating.

**Contains Spoilers**
Story : Set in the Distant Future, where humanity is now ruled under APE, it follows the story of Squad 13, specifically Hiro and 02.
It is not an Anime about fighting. Nowhere near it. It is about humanity, their emotions which binds them. The Story is about "being human", not fighting klaxosaurs.
The First Person story telling was pretty nice. The First Arc is seen through the eyes of Hiro and 02. The Concept of Jian was profoundly beautiful.
Art: Good. Nothing more to say here.
...
Sound : Kiss of Death was a good song. Really nice. :)
Direction : The First Arc is paced well. Rather slow but good. Each Episode focuses on a single character and their develops their backstory which is nice. After Ep 20, things get paced too fast. Klaxo-princess had two Episodes to her, of which neither explained her personal backstory.
It goes from simple beating around the bush to space wars real quick.
It should have dedicated a few more Episodes to make nice pacing in the second arc. ~2-3 Ep more should have sufficed.
It had significant potential, but the second half doesn't do justice to that. The Ending kind of fixes up the mess.
Characters :
**spoiler warning**
*Do not read ahead if you have not watched the Anime!!*
Hiro : Once a Prodigy, now unable to pilot the franxx. Many people seem to find him blank and without any special skills that make him the main character. ( I think those are people who expect every MC to be like super-duper special with extraordinary superhuman capabilities... I am glad Hiro was a plain character... with emotions)
Hiro was originally the only child who had emotions before his memories were erased. That what makes him special and different from the rest of Squad 13 and other parasites. Again this Anime is not about fighting, but about human bonding.
02 : Often seen as Horny but scary, just like a Klaxosaur. She was the only reason why Hiro couldn't pilot FranXX and also the same reason why Hiro was compatible with 02 Only. Hiro ingests Klaxo-blood which puts enormous stress on the Female Parasite, thus unable to connect with them. Only 02 and Klaxo-hime or the 9's were compatible with him.
I found her character quite good. She wanted to be human, to the extent of killing other parasites, just to be with her darling. (A name taught to her by none other than Hiro himself)
Hiro and 02 roles have a transition from "living to die" to "dying to live", which deserves an applause.
Kokoro and Mitsuru : There is nothing wrong about teens being interested in childbirth, and stuff. If you don't know, you would self venture into that area. You also have ventured into that area, atleast though of it, during your teen years. Kokoro's love for Mitsuru was genuine. She never like Futoshi from the very beginning. It is not the NTR shit you have seen.
Mitsuru's hatred for Hiro was real. Imagine yourself taking a deadly injection so be able to fight alongside your partner, who eventually refuses outright. (or rather forgets)
Zorome and Miku represent the childish but never mending attitude.
Ikuno and Futoshi : well leave that for later :p
Each Character had a specific roles, and represent the hope of humanity. Goro was the best friend you could ever had. And even Ichigo cared for Hiro. Stop bashing her. She never saw from the side of 02. (not before the second arc)
Anime characters are not supposed to be all-knowing. You cannot expect her to be caring for 02, when you don't know her. This applies to real life as well, which is what the Anime was trying to depict. (and succeeded)
Dr.FranXX has a mysterious side and prefers his beautiful things over superficial lifeforms. He was human. His death was rather crushing. RIP
Hiro and 02 shared a deep connection, in their childhood, the memories of which were erased by Dr.FranXX. The red/blue oni theory seems real at first, but I am good with the bittersweet reincarnation thing. (although Doraemon : Nobita and Steel troops had the same ending, where Riruru and Pippo were reborn as swans)
It's sad they couldn't meet their friends but they finally get to be together, albeit a bit too late, yeah! too late :(
I cried when I saw the pink haired girl under the Cherry Blossom tree in the end. :(
Best Episode : Ep 13 (really the best one out of 24)
Plot : The first half progressed really well. It keeps everything mysterious, explains nothing. We get to know nothing about APE, Klaxosaurs, or even the identities of Hiro and 02. Everything is kept in the dark, rather than exposing everything in the first episode.
Had everything been exposed in first few episodes, it would have been too boring to watch.
The Second Arc progress well, until it reaches the space. Things got a bit weird thereafter. Sure 02 and Hiro could manage in space. They have Klaxo-blood now, but all squad members reaching in space like nothing happened was weird.
This Anime has too many death flags, of which none were true. As I said, the ending is rather bittersweet.
It was good it didn't take cliched route of MC being either alive like they over-powered MC or dead from the battle.
Enjoyment : 10/10 (I wouldn't have continued had I not enjoyed)
Overall : 10/10

Your Lie in April is truly a wonderful masterpiece. It outperforms almost all animes I have seen till now.
The Story is great ( and sad ). The Animation / Sound was excellent.
I was never inclined to classical music but the anime made me fall for it.
The Comedy (in later episodes ) is fun but overshadowed by the shear sadness of the episodes. Character Developments is excellent for Arima Kousei. Watari and Tsubaki didn't show much development though.
The 24 Color Palette accompanied by the great sound makes it a true masterpiece. This Shall never be forgotten, I promise.
Although I still wished it received
...
a happier ending (you will know after watching the end). Tears rolled down my eyes in the last few episodes.
