This is my honest review of the anime, still waiting on the final season to drop.

The plot is kind of basic, the main character with the "never give up" personality turns out to be connected to the strongest character in the show, and as a result, he is constantly stronger than his peers by miles.

I'm not saying that the personality he has is bad, it works on many characters but you need to add your own touch to the character, Tanjiro feels like he has been copy pasted. The best example is Yuji Itadori, perfectly executed protagonist.

Other than the protagonist, the plot follows ... a pretty basic path. And it's really rushed too. From one arc where they were struggling against normal demons they went straight into fighting the twelve kizuki and then without even defeating them all or any time skip or anything they go to the final boss straight up. Like I said, very rushed. Current Tanjiro (from the anime) can hold his own against an upper moon, and judging by the looks of the final arc it seems like he is going to defeat the final boss next season.

The other characters get no attention at all either, I mean, what does that boar guy even do anymore? Or any of the hashiras? Or anyone at all other than Tanjiro and Nezuko? By the end of the hashira arc I did not like a single character. Rengoku was well executed, but everyone else was basic.

In my opinion, as someone who writes novels for fun, I think the author should have added a time skip, one where we would see a more mature tanjiro learning how to use his mark, now on his last available year as he is 21 (I don't remember 100% if mark users die at 21 or not) and he has reached the hashira rank alongside his peers, on the other hand the demons have been cornered so now they finally set a trap for michael jackson, I think you get my point.

One last thing, as far as character development goes, I think there is barely any. Tanjiro is the same guy he was in episode 1, but now he has a sword. Zenitsu for some reason locked in at the last episode, he also received 0 character development. And again, what does that boar guy even do? And should I even get started with Tanjiro's love interest? I forgot her name, she was reduced to a house wife and they are not even in a relationship yet! The boulders from the rock training have more screentime than her.

I watched and read this anime, it's more or less the definition of shonen.

First of all, the plot. The plot is good, Gojo doesn't solve every single conflict (like a lot "the strongest" characters usually do) and instead it's up to the characters to find ways to evolve and adapt to the situation, you can truly feel the pressure. But that is not what this anime excels at.

The fights, first of all the animation is 10/10 right, but even more importantly the fights are really well thought, what I mean by that is these are fights between characters you want to see, and ... the said characters will evolve in the middle of the fight and find creative ways to adapt to their enemy, even the villains do that!

And lastly because I don't want to risk spoiling you my dear reader, the characters. Honestly, it feels to me like I've seen those characters in a lot of other fiction but let me just say this. The villains are actually villains, they are evil and you will hate them (in a good way) and the heroes, you will root for them. You will feel the brotherhood that is formed in those fights.

The protagonist is overall a unique protagonist and probably the best written character in the entire show, because he is not your usual "Believe in yourself" character. He undergoes crazy development and he finds himself in constant conflict with his feelings even though his heart is in the right place

And to end it off, I have not rooted against a villain so badly ever since I was a kid and was watching DBZ, again, you will truly hate the villains

What an amazing manga series, the only shame is that the manga is still being translated to this day, and so far its only to like volume 25 (I read the rest of the volumes) but I can tell you that this manga in particular, will make other delinquent and crime mangas look like nothing if you give it a chance and read it. The story is very complex, the author did a really good job always keeping you in the fog and you will end up rooting for characters that you once hated, and vise versa. The art style is one of the best ... in the industry. The character development is INSANE, one of the things ken wakui excels at is character development you will not be disappointed. If you are a fan of mangas involving crimes, organizations delinquents etc this will be the one for you. It has everything.
