Something I believe plagued the later arcs in the series is the repetitiveness. During the build-up towards and during the Soul Society Invasion arc, I felt that the pacing of the plot and the leveling up of characters were made quite well, and I really enjoyed reading it! The humor was especially spot-on. Though as the story progressed I started to see that some story aspects were being repeated. Yes, it is an entertaining manga, but it felt pretty fatiguing coming back to the series after having taken a break from it.
When Aizen had first stated that "everything was planned from the start", I had
...
honestly started to call bs. It felt that an entire plot was thrown away just to be another "grand scheme" scenario. Nearing the end of the series, it occurred again with Yhwach saying that everything up to that point was "planned from the start". It had recycled the same bs.
And when Yhwach needed to be killed, he just couldn't be killed. So something needed to be pulled out of someone's ass to somehow kill this man that was literally too strong to be killed. The fight hadn't felt much of a "fight". It ended rather quickly than I'd like.
