I want to ask who ever made this if they were high on crack. I really do, this was hands down one of the worst animes have ever watched. As the latest of Gorou Miyazaki any steps forward he learned from From Up on Poppy Hill seems have gone backwards. He put himself in a up hill battle (pun unintended) with ditching the Studios art style with a more modern 3D look which could have worked. I will say there are good parts to this film, like the music and the animation is spot on and the colors brighten up the screen. Then after that it's down hill, first the movie should have been longer it was too short for the story Gorou was going for. Closer to 2 hours maybe would have helped

This movie is an absolute dumpster fire in everyway possible, I could stop the review there but I must go on. Whoever wrote this movie can't be the same person as the first movie, everything from beginning to end made be question their ability. When this first came out I was extremely excited for it the title alone sold me.I shelved it for a bit as I finished other shows so it could have my full attention, then I started it. I am glad that season 2 finally happened but my wait was somewhat wasted. The animation clearly has been downgraded compared to the first season and the the show suffers a lot because of it. There was so cool world building and expanding the story but at time seem to go way too fast. The characters are 50/50 too some got better and some got worse, easily the one that took the biggest hit was the king's family now their a bunch of idiots. But season crosses the finish line and barley but does. I hope if a third season happens that things get better

Comparing this to the fist is not something I would do. The first season let's call it story while yes a hentai one, was intriguing and had some thought put behind it.
