I'll keep this short and to the point. I think "Tsuredure Children" is rated higher than it deserves, and here's why:
I decided to read it for two main reasons:
I watched the anime five years ago (which I rated a 6/10, it was okay, but nothing special).
The chapters are really short (around 6 pages), which seemed like an easy read.
But after finishing the manga, I can say it doesn’t quite live up to its high ratings. And here are my issues with it:
Jumbled Storytelling - The manga follows multiple couples, but the chapters aren’t in any clear sequence. For example, you might get a chapter about
...
"couple A", then not see them again until chapter 7 or later. This makes it hard to keep track of the characters and the overall story.
Character Similarities - Some characters look too alike, which adds to the confusion. It’s tough to tell who’s who, especially when the story jumps around between different couples.
Repetitive Formula - Most of the couples follow the same basic pattern, one person likes the other, they struggle with embarrassing moments, and then they confess. A lot of chapters end with an interruption right when something big is about to happen, like a confession or a kiss. It feels a bit formulaic after a while.
That said, it’s not all bad. Some of the couples’ stories are sweet and even touching, especially toward the end. While the manga does have its flaws, if you look past them, you might still enjoy it. Personally, though, it felt like more of a chore to read. But hey, as the Romans used to say, "De gustibus non est disputandum." Everyone has their own taste!

I believe this anime has a lower score on this site for two main reasons. First, because this is a work of Ryukishi07, many expected it to mirror the style and impact of his most famous series, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. That isn’t quite the case here. While Ookamikakushi does share certain similarities with Higurashi, which people that have watched it (like myself) will notice, it ultimately carves out its own identity, and I’d argue it does so successfully, but slightly to its own demise - since people wanted it to be a gory-heavy horror story - which it isn't.
Second, people might have
...
been put off by its slow pace in the beginning and dropped it before they gave it a chance to pick up. With that said, lets get into the review.
Music 8/10
I’ll start with the music, rather than starting with the story, because it was my favorite aspect of the series. The soundtrack perfectly sets the eerie, suspenseful atmosphere you’d expect from a horror and mystery themed anime. The combination of background music and sound effects creates a strong sense of unease, pulling you into the mystery and tension of the story. For me, it was easily one of the show’s strongest points. (I really enjoyed the eerie soundtrack in the middle of each episode)
Story: 6.5/10
Without much spoilers, the story was fine. The first half is slow, with only brief moments of action sprinkled at the ends of episodes, mostly focusing on buildup during each one. After episode 6, the show picks up drastically. The mysteries are revealed and the show plunges into action until the end (except the last episode, which felt more like an OVA or a Special, and episode 11 is actually where the story wraps up). It also tried to showcase the "morally gray" area of characters decisions, such as with "the fixer" and "the hunter" - which you will eventually find out. Both could be said to be morally wrong, yet, each have their own reasoning to their decisions.
Animation: 5.5/10
The animation is average. It’s not terrible, but it’s not particularly noteworthy either. The biggest distraction is the CGI, which appears briefly but regularly, and sticks out like a sore thumb against the otherwise standard visuals. Outside of that, the art direction is fine, but nothing stands out as exceptional.
Overall enjoyment: 7/10
Despite its flaws, I genuinely enjoyed Ookamikakushi. It’s not a masterpiece, but it’s a solid watch if you’re looking for something with a mysterious, horror-tinged vibe. It works well as a side anime - something to enjoy without heavy expectations. I’d recommend giving it a chance, and if the slow beginning tests your patience, stick with it. The second half is where it really shines.

I've decided to write this review since I saw that no one else wrote one.
If you've watched the first season of Bokura wa Minna Kawai-sou (or The Kawai Complex Guide to Manors and Hostel Behavior), then this special episode, "Hajimete no", is a delightful bonus that you shouldn't skip.
Tonally, the special stays true to the original series. The quirky humor, lighthearted atmosphere and everything that made the main show so enjoyable, is still present in this special.
But what truly makes this special "special" (hehe, see what I did there), is how it subtly deepens the romance between Usa and Kawai. While, like the main season,
...
it didn't go full force into romance, it definitely gave us a spark of what is to come in the future for these two.
In short, if you enjoyed the main series, this special is sort of a must-watch. It may not be a full continuation, but it delivers just enough warmth, humor, and heart to satisfy us.

It is very interesting when it comes to the idea of love and love at first sight. Since every episode is really short, you can finish all 3 seasons in a day wich is actually a good thing.
A day before us depicts the path of love in an interesting and realistic way. It shows how everything happens. I would recomend this to romance lovers cuz it is short yet amazingly done. You really get into the characters and their feelings and you see them develop really nicely.
Out of all the 3 seasons I personally think the first one is the best simply because
...
it gets you into the story, first two and few of the last episodes are the best of it in my opinion.

This anime really knows how to catch your interest, I mean even the first episode makes you tear up... It does have some filler episodes wich were also amazingly done and were pretty interesting. The romance in this anime does not happen suddenly, it changes very slowly and is really well made all the way until the end. And the ending is what makes this anime really my favourite, it has a realistic ending and not a "fairy tale" ending and I think that that is why it is so good. The ending will make you cry thus it will wake up emotions that you
...
have hidden inside you. You will think about the anime for days to come after you finished it, it's that good. I would fully recomend anyone that likes romance anime or romance in general to watch this anime.
