Gin no Saji 2nd Season is undoubtedly a masterpiece in the slice of life genre - for myself especially.
The story and character progression is a lot stronger in this season and you get a better understanding of the characters and their motivations and ambitions.
This anime has plenty of heart and angst and instils a sense of responsibility and duty to whoever watches it.
The art style is typical of modern animes however, Gin no Saji truly shines in the faithful rendering of animals and food.
The soundtrack is actually noticeably good, the orchestral pieces occasionally heard are truly outstanding. The OST is also fun and sets

Toradora is a brilliant highschool slice of life romance anime. Lead by two main characters with unique personalities, it was a joy to watch the story unfold over 25 amazing episodes.
The art style has a mature palette made even more sentimental with a the presence of a reddish/bluish tint found throughout the series. The natural outdoor backdrops and weather are of particular note as they really do feel "alive" and evokes emotion from the viewers. The soundtrack of Toradora is outstanding; the important scenes are further highlighted by sweeping piano orchestrations soaked in melancholy. Individual characters shine in this anime, the main cast have distinct personalities which ... Feb 15, 2016

School Rumble sealed my love for the slice of life genre.
This anime is full of colourful characters with a lot of energy and soul. Whilst, this is predominantly a comedic anime, it does have a lot of heart and its tender moments are especially human and keenly relate-able. School Rumble features many great arcs and the main characters are thoughtfully realized. The dynamics between the cast is very palpable and compelling to watch. This anime is perfect for people who feel downsome and looking for "determination" or just an anime that can empathize with you. Outstanding series, be sure to check out its sequels and the manga, ... Feb 4, 2016

Lucky Star is quite an outstanding and certainly entertaining slice of life comedy that shares high similarity to Azumanga Daioh - but with a lot more otaku culture thanks to its main character: Kona-chan (Konata Izumi).
Story-wise it's a slice of life anime but it does follow some loose trajectory, but each individual story is very enjoyable as it's characters are full of heart and their dynamics work great with each other. I had a blast watching Lucky Star, it's especially a treat if you're into otaku culture and/or video games. Characters are relateable and have tonnes of heart. This anime is certainly a gem in its ... |
