The animation is beautiful, Studio Mappa did a good job keeping the beauty and charm from the original source material. The colors and details where great. In my opinion, they did okay with Lady Oscar's and Andre's love story because they gave it the most focus. Also, the aspect of me having knowledge of the original source material saved this from me giving it a 1/10 rating.
However, as someone who loves the manga and the 70s anime series...this was a disappointment. The original manga and anime had much more depth and made me much more emotional and invested in the story. Many characters where
...
missing or didn't have any significant meaning in this movie. For example where is Rosalie Lamorlière? Where is the Duchess Of Polignac? Where is Robespierre? Why didn't we see basically anything of King Louis XVI? It might be an unfair opinion to give because a 40 episode series or 10 volumes of manga gives more of a chance to go into depth and explore more outside of the main story. Especially when it comes to the historical aspect and the French aristocracy's consequences of spending money and other political aspects that lead to the French Revolution.
In my opinion, they made the Marie Antionette storyline so dirty. I mean, there was nothing there really. They stripped Marie Antionette from any sort of depth of emotion and character development. Where is the drama between Jeanne du Barry and Marie Antionette? Where is The Affair of the Diamond Necklace storyline? It could have given some direction and deeper meaning on what to come. Lastly, the Axel von Fersen love story with the Queen of France didn't make sense if you don't know anything about history or if you haven't read the manga or seen the 70's anime series.
One of the main problems I had was the timeline and how fast it went. Some of the time skips where to hastily and random. I understand it's difficult to get everything in a span of a two hour movie However, it was still odd and confusing. Especially the bits from when Marie Antionette married King Louis XVI (then the Dauphin) and to the two of them becoming the King and Queen of France was fast and not explained in a way it made sense. Also, what is these weird music bits coming in out of nowhere? Is this suppose to be a musical? The songs where random and felt odd. I think the movie would have been better without it.
In the end, this movie was a disappointment for me. Now that I look at my own review, I can see this being a very harsh critique. Perhaps I went in with too much expectations. Still, I can't see myself recommending this to anyone over the manga or the 70's anime. Which is sad, because Studio Mappa really did a great job with the animation and had so much potential to make this work. If they had made this into a TV-series and really put effort into giving us a deeper dive into the characters and the built up to the French Revolution...this remake would have been perfect.

This is one of the best shounen shows I watched. Great story, good characters with creative character designs and not to mention the fun experience when watching it with my boyfriend and discussing the story in between episodes.
What I love most about this show is the characters. Many of them feel quite complex for a battle shounen show. I mean Gon is a good and strong main characters. Personally sometimes a pretty basic one, but in a good way. However, it was interesting how he changed so much from the early episodes when he started his journey to become an hunter…to when he was battling
...
in the chimera arc and lost himself and almost died at the hospital.
As for Killua. He was a great and probably my favourite character of all. His family background was unique. I loved his bond with Gon. One of the best and wholesome friendship in a shounen show I ever seen. It was a good balance of rivalry and encouraging each other. Also, Killua was an amazing big brother and you see it many times especially at the end of the anime.
As for Kurapika and Leorio. I*m sad we didn’t see as much of them later on. However it’s always great when they’re on. Kurapika’s story got a bit dark though. Yet at the same time it was interesting, I most likely will pick up the manga soon because I want to read more about him and hopefully Melody will also be a part of his story in the future as well. Their friendship was great. Leorio in the other hand gave a bit of comic relief and lightness to the story. At first I wasn’t a fun of him. But he grew most on me and I love the idea of him become a doctor and working hard on it instead of practicing a lot of nen with the other characters.
As for the villains, there where so many creepy ones. I mean Hisoka and the King was a bit too much haha. Ikalgo was great from being a villain and the becoming to the good side. He was great. Don’t know what else to say really xD
As for the plot, it was good. The exam and tournament arcs where one of the best I seen in an anime. They brought something new into the genre from what I seen before. My favourite arc was the Greed Island one. I know it wasn’t many peoples’ favourite. However, I personally was a fan of the concept and the development of the plot during the arc. Also Biscuit was an nice addition to the story. My least favorite was the chimera arc. I know it’s an unpopular opinion, but it felt really long and kind of sad. Too sad and dark for my personal opinion. Not more what else to say. It wasn’t bad in any means, but it just wasn’t my favourite arc.
In the end, Hunter x Hunter is one of the best shounen anime I seen. I have great memories watching it with my boyfriend. The story and characters where really good. The anime truly makes me want to read the manga and see what happened after the show ended.

My favourite Studio Ghibli movie of all time! I saw it for the first time when I was nine. Laputa has in many ways been my first. It was my first anime movie. My first movie in Japanese. Also the movie I learnt my first Japanese word from. Now, 16 years later, my love for this movie only grows.
Laputa is a nostalgic, well written story, great character designs and great character developments. I truly didn't appreciate the characters when I was younger. However, now looking back especially at the female characters: Sheeta, Mama and the Boss's wife, all three are super strong and amazing
...
female characters in their own way. They all are kind, headstrong, goal focused and resilient characters. Pazu is also a great, strong, resilient and kind character.
The plot of the movie is also so strong and well made. It's not too fast or slow paced. The history in this world is great and works so perfect with the art.
Even though there is a lot of good in the movie, the only personal thing I sometimes find unease with is how graphic it sometime can be. I know it's not the worst and many other enjoys it. However, for me it can be a bit too much. I felt that way ever since I saw it for the first time. Still, it's such a great movie and can't stop loving it.
All in all, a great movie that I highly recommend and will watch over and over again.

This anime was so cute and wholesome. It makes you all happy and warm inside while watching it. Tsumugi has a great father that supports her and try everyday to be better. Tsumugi herself is a kind and well-behaved child (I mean...some temper tantrums are normal at that age so...in the end she is a good kid <3)
I had a bit of a hard time rating this anime. I actually had wanted to give it a 8.5, but ended up rounding it up to a 9 now. The story was great, but not the best and has much of the typical tropes in this

kind of a slice of life. At that base, it more of an 8 for me personally. However, this show truly gave me more inspiration for making Japanese foods. I most definitely going to try making a hamburger stake, sangayaki, dry curry and okonomiyaki. Speaking of the okonomiyaki episode, it really got me on a nostalgia trip. All the times I had an okonomiyaki part with my friends has always been fun. Should probably organize one soon...
All in all, Amaama to Inazuma was a great show and I enjoyed it so much. I can't recommend it enough. I most likely will watch it again soon for inspiration for more Japanese food I might have overlooked on my first watch.

I enjoyed this series from start to finish.
I loved that it was a slow burn romance and the main characters didn't felt a need to rush their relationship. It felt more real because of these small details.
I also loved the friendships between the girls. They where so different, but found common grounds and became a tight friend group that supported each other. Yes, some dramas between the regarding love interests was there. However, it was valid and in the end, wasn't even too bad of a deal. I mean...it wasn't exactly a "I will destroy you socially" or anything like that. Which I
...
loved.
As for the characters. They where lovely. In general, there where non I hated. But the one's I loved most was:
Firstly, Mitsumi, our main character...and what a strong and funny main character we got! I mean, she moved to Tokyo from the country-side! That takes courage and strength! Being a way from her family, friends and everything she was familiar with. Even though she had Nao, her supportive aunt that took care of her...it couldn't have been easy. Whenever she fell and failed, she picked herself up which is admirable. Plus, she was funny and I laughed a lot.
Next, Shima, the main guy in the story was also a good character and a great love interest. He wasn't pushy or so. He was a kind hearted boy that really was a good support to Mitsumi. He also had his own things going on, which added a bit more depth to him outside his relation with Mitsumi. However, I wish we could have dived a bit more into that. But I understand that the anime has more limits then mangas when it come to time so...
Nao, Mitsumi's aunt was really sweet. I loved her character and her support in making Mitsumi having a fun time while being in Tokyo. Wish we could have had more of her.
Besides the love, friendship and the characters, I really loved how this show made the school festival. The play Mitsumi's class made was great and made this show a 9 instead of a 8 for me. I'm a huge fan of "The Sound of Music", so I was happy that it basically put that play in there instead of "Cinderella" or "Snow White" that I usually see in these type of shows. Also glad that they made Shima play John/Rolf instead of the Captain. That he didn't need to be the main star, but more of a side role and a character with some moral dilemmas.
In the end, "Skip to Loafer" was a fun anime that got me back into anime after a very long time. It was funny, romantic and sweet. I couldn't give it a full 9 because it lacked that little something I couldn't put my finger on. Still, I hope they make another season for this show. Because I sure will watch more of it!

If I only could choose one series to describe my childhood it would be without a doubt this one! I probably can quote every episode by heart. As a matter of fact, I would say that a lot of my friends and family would say the exact same thing. Moomin was our childhood! Growing up we watched this story countless of times.
The characters are loveable and funny. They have their own quirks, which makes every single own memorable. It's hard to choose only own favorite characters from the series. Characters like Snufikn, Little My and Moominmama are all so loveable.
The stories in Moominvalley gives
...
a comfort and nostalgic. Even til this day, I go back from time to time to watch an episode or two. They're just that good! All the episodes are amazing. The majority of them are fun adventures. However, some of the episodes actually are even scary. I believe every Finnish child's nightmare growing up the Groke. I'm not embarrassed to admit that til this day I get chills down the spain when the soundtrack of the Groke's arival is played.
However, nowadays I also appriciate the lessons taught by a lot of the episodes. Some of them teach you to love youself. Others being accepting towards other. Also how to sometime just be in the moment and enjoy and create memories with your loved ones.
In the end, this is just a fraction of the reasons why I love the Moomins so much. I could talk forever about how good the series is. It's just simply that good of a story.

A beautiful anime in every way possible. From the art to characters to the stories. One can't help but to become emotional while watching it.
The art was a bit different from a lot of animes, which made it stand out in a positive way. All of the characters had amazing designs. The colors and how they where used was great.
The best part of the story was the characters. The majority of them where loveable and well made. Yes, a lot of them had a lot of tropes in them. But it's not bad. The story made it's own touch to them. Which made them

memorable.
The plot was sweet and rather touching. A father caring for his young daughter while keeping his work a secret in order for her not to feel embarrassed. For the majority of the time it was between a 7 or 8 points review. However, the ending sealed the deal. It was so touching, beautiful and funny at the same time.
In the end, a great anime and would recommend to give it a chance.
