Believe me, I get it! I read the first book just last year after I got to see the 40th anniversary in theaters and I enjoyed it a lot. The first movie is based on it and really adds a lot of depth to the story. I'm taking them real slow because there are so many but I'm anxious to get to the book Bloodlust is based on.

There are an absolute stupid amount of good movies in that Japanuary challenge—I don't even know where to begin. Pale Flower and Woman in the Dunes are my second favorite films of all time which can change on any given day. Seven Samurai is my all time favorite ^^ A few years ago, I got to see Pale Flower on it's original 35mm print at my local art house theater and it was a transformative experience to say the least. You are going to have so much fun with the challenge 👉👈

I briefly had a letterboxd but I ended up deleting it because I just couldn't settle on how exactly I wanted to use it but you are kinda making me regret it now hah

I love both Solaris and Andrei Rublev; Stalker is my favorite. I'm ashamed to admit that I STILL have not seen Mirror! It is very high on my priority list though.

I see you on those recent Vampire Hunter D watches! I have pretty extreme nostalgia for them. The animation in Bloodlust is just so beautiful. With so many books, I'm kinda sad they have not made more.
