A story about what happens after popular fairy tales end. Ever wondered whether Cinderella was actually happy with her marriage? What did Little Red Riding Hood do after visiting grandma? This manga has the answers. It is an exploration of how "Happily Ever After" isn't quite that. One of the main themes is that for beauty to exist, ugliness must exist as well.
I liked the premise and the main character, Wilhelm. The settings and side characters were also very cool, and I love the character designs and aesthetics.
However, I found the story's execution lacking. Most side characters get discarded quickly, and interesting plot points

A show that is hard to describe: Frieren starts out melancholic, then turns into a slice of life and finally into a shounen. The shift is gradual, and although the final arc breaks with a lot of the show's established themes, it also brings in some beautiful questions about the meaning of magic (and in general, the meaning of titles and the things that we do) and is overall hype and enjoyable.
