I'm not one for wordiness, so I'll get straight to the point.
Inuyasha is a classic shounen. It's over 100 episodes long, so if you're not ready to settle in for the long-haul with filler episodes, then this anime is probably not for you at the moment! However, I recommend watching it, and at least watching through the main arc while skipping some filler episodes. Inuyasha was the first manga and anime I've read/watched, so it has a special place in my heart. While I don't believe I watched every episode of the anime in the past, I know how the story starts and ends because

of my experience reading with the manga.
Story - 6
The story can basically be summed up by two phrases: "Dammit Kagome, when are you going to stop being so useless" and "When is the Shikon Jewel finally going to be completed?" Character actions and sayings get kind of repetitive and overused. There's a lot of filler episodes and side arcs, but the main arc is solid.
Art - 7
Traditional art for the time it was released (early 2000's). Classic for a shounen. Some parts are set in the modern world, but for the most part, it's set in feudal era Japan.
Sound - 7
My favorite song from the anime is "Every Heart," but I think all of the soundtrack is pretty good. Nothing terribly notable, except for my unhealthy obsession with "Every Heart" by Boa at a young age.
Character - 8
I love all of the main characters. I do love that Kagome is such a stubborn and kind-hearted person, and that Inuyasha eventually develops into a man instead of the manchild that he was at the beginning of the show. My other favorite character is Sesshomaru. All of the characters in the story experience some sort of character development throughout the anime.
Enjoyment - 7
Solid 7 for enjoyment. I get bored of the filler episodes, but I still love the characters and the main arc.
Overall - 7.
