It's cute, however the only real justification for these characters liking each other is that he likes that she cooks and cleans for him and she likes that he's the first guy that was nice to her. Toss the age gap into the mix and you get a manga that gets progressively more worrisome as it goes. Normally, I would try to ignore Red Flags in reading romance, but they don't let you forget the age gap! He calls her "kid" and she calls him "sensei". It's just weird.

I have never left a review before, but this anime was so bad I had to. It is so appallingly bad, and not even in a bad but good way. It's just bad. I feel worse for having watched it.
With that off my chest, lets talk about why it's bad. I'll try to keep this spoiler free. First, it does not warn you about the tone. Sure, it's rated R. But I didn't check. Maybe I'll rate it lower when the high of the show wears off, but for now, I'm still reveling in the nice wrap up of the last episode.
First, you have to understand that it is primarily a comedy show based off of that hitting 30s depression. You know the one. Where you feel like you aren't living up to what you expected as a child, or you feel like you've just been wasting your years. Some would argue that this downplays the characters suffering, but I would argue that this it shows the audience that these feelings are okay and you can still find fun ... |
