I wasn’t expecting much when I started My Status as an Assassin Exceeds the Hero’s, but I ended up liking it a lot more than anticipated. The worldbuilding is interesting and surprisingly well done, and the isekai elements are actually integrated into the plot instead of being used once as a setup and then forgotten.

Every place and character feels like they have a story of their own, and despite being set in yet another fantasy world filled with familiar tropes, the lore manages to feel fresh and original.

As the title suggests, the main character is insanely powerful, so you can expect him to overcome impossible ...

While Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! Season 2 isn’t mind-blowing or anywhere near my favorite rom-com, I do find it consistently entertaining. It’s very much a “turn your brain off” kind of anime, where the appeal comes from enjoying the sheer ridiculousness of Uzaki’s non-relationship with her senpai.

The story itself is simple, but the jokes do enough to keep things from getting stale. The weird-looking cat in particular works surprisingly well as a recurring gag and adds some extra charm to the comedy.

While I don’t think the show has the potential to become something truly great, I’m invested enough to keep watching. It knows exactly ...

I was expecting a generic magic harem series, but instead I got a surprisingly engaging story about a once-great magician turned teacher who becomes involved in epic battles and dangerous conspiracies.

The series starts with some ecchi elements, but as it progresses, the story becomes more focused and compelling. We get entertaining arcs centered around a magic academy reminiscent of Harry Potter, secret cults, and powerful mages clashing behind the scenes.

The main character is a degenerate with a heart of gold, and his personality truly carries the show. His laid-back attitude, hidden strength, and sharp wit make him far more interesting than your typical overpowered protagonist.

I ...

We’ve come a long way from what felt like a PowerPoint presentation in season one to the intense, fully realized fights we’re getting now in season three.

The battles are incredible, but what really draws me in are the backstories of the human fighters and their willingness to stand against the gods. There’s something powerful about watching humanity challenge the impossible and still come out victorious. The struggle between humans and gods is a tale as old as storytelling itself, yet Record of Ragnarok manages to make it feel fresh and exciting.

There are only a few fights left, but if the series maintains this level of ...

IT FINALLY HAPPENED! It took years, but we finally got here. Kaguya and the president’s love finally blossomed, and it truly went all the way. This is what every fan was waiting for, and it delivered.

What more can I say? This is one of my favorite romcoms, and it makes me laugh a lot with the hilarious situations. Moreover, the characters are very likable, and you can see how they have evolved over time.

This part is chef’s kiss. It feels like the perfect and mature progression of their relationship.

There are just a few chapters left to adapt and I hope they deliver a good ending.

I wasn’t expecting much going in, but this ended up being genuinely funny. The main character is completely delusional in the best way possible, and that self-serious commitment to his fantasy is what makes the series work.

The real strength of the show, though, is Shadow Garden. The members each have distinct personalities and abilities, and they bring a great dynamic to Cid’s over-the-top “mastermind” plans. Their interactions add energy and variety to the story instead of just orbiting him mindlessly.

It’s not a masterpiece, but it’s a genuinely fun, turn-your-brain-off kind of anime. The animation is solid, the magical fights are entertaining, and the series does ...

Season two was decent, but I enjoyed this season much more. As usual, everything in this anime regarding production is top-notch. The animation is smooth, the action scenes are great, the soundtrack is amazing, and the voice acting is excellent.

We get to know more about Twilight’s life, and the anime once again leans into some genuinely funny and also epic moments. My only complaint is that Lloyd and Yor’s relationship barely changes. They act like teenagers when they should be acting like actual adults. However, the status quo means we can still enjoy Anya and her antics, as well as Yor’s and Lloyd’s incredibly dangerous ...

Words cannot express how disappointed this season made me feel. Years of waiting for this. Pretty much a PowerPoint presentation turned into anime form.

I don’t understand how or why this happened, but One Punch Man deserves better. I find it disrespectful to turn the manga into such a travesty. The animation and the drawings were incredibly poor, and the characters barely moved most of the time. Nothing really captured the greatness of Yusuke Murata’s and ONE’s manga.

Definitely the worst anime I saw last year. I’ll go straight back to the manga to forget I ever saw this pile of junk.

Spoiler
I wasn’t expecting much when this was announced, but I ended up laughing way more than I thought I would. I love how Gintama turns absolutely everything into a joke, and the more absurd it gets, the better.

The animation is decent for a comedy series, and seeing Takasugi and Kamui show up in this school spin-off was a great surprise.

I really hope there’s another season coming, because Gintama in a school setting can deliver some of the most chaotic and unhinged gags the franchise has ever done.

Favorite jokes: The meta references and parody of well-known anime series.

Gachiakuta (Anime) add
Mixed Feelings
I was expecting a revenge story, so I ended up a bit disappointed when things went nowhere near that direction and the series became a more typical shonen.

Even so, Gachiakuta brings some genuinely fresh elements, with a very original world and power system, plus charismatic and funny characters.

The animation and fight scenes are great, and the world-building feels new and exciting. Still, despite all the cool ideas, I don’t feel completely engaged in the story yet. There’s something missing that keeps it from fully clicking for me. I hope next season makes me more invested, because the potential is definitely there, even if it ...
