season 3 is definitely more action-packed and puts more spotlight on the side characters. i get that some people weren’t too into it since it’s not as dark or psychological focused, especially with subaru not returning by death as often.. but honestly, i think that was the point. this season feels more about showing everyone else's Ws, growth, and strength, and how subaru’s finally learning he doesn’t have to carry everything on his own or die to fix things.
with that being said, i reeally enjoyed every episode. i'm so happy our gorgeous tiger finally got some recognition!! his development and fights were so good IM

this manga moved me to tears .. from how ASS IT IS
it started off fine, but as the story progressed it became painfully obvious how hard the author was trying to make every moment as tragic as possible. it just became exhausting.. like wahh pao’s family is gone again!! what a shocker. the constant tragedy didn’t make me emotional, it just made me roll my eyes. pao's suffering (which i should mention is basically the same thing happening over and over again) just kept piling on as if that alone would make it profound. absolutely vile, offensive, author pls never cook again

this was a really entertaining read!! i'm personally intrigued by cult/religion themed horror stories, and smiley has that essence of the terrifying nature of cults and the dark side of toxic positivity (which is taken to an EXTREME) really well.
unlike typical horror mcs who are thrown into danger by accident, this fucker decides to walk straight into the cult and join them, driven by his natural curiosity as a journalist to find out the truth. and it's not because he's some clueless naive idiot,, he thinks he’s in control, that he’s the one observing the cult from the outside. but the horror comes when he ... |
