It started pretty well, and the plot (even tho probably cliche) is entertaining so far...BUT.
Even tho characters and scenes are good, the fight scenes are pretty 2000s-ish, which is rough since its supposed to be action anime. Also while the conspiracy seems entertaining for now, as I mentioned it is pretty cliche and predictable...but I will give it few more EPs and update this.

Right now its hard to recommend, but not a waste of time. But if you can wait a bit and watch smth else I would do that

Story about an isekaied demon (lord?) who falls in love with cute girl in hero's party. It looked like after he got rejected and quit demoning we will get an action adventure with single love interest....You might see why I had pretty high hopes after 1st ep.

But 5 episodes in and instead of questing adventure to earn "honest" money, we got multiple dates, some fights outsourced from early 2000s and a protagonist that despite bein strong, acts like a push over and speedruns all the cliches of bad writing.
TL:DR Save your time, watch smth from your backlog, check it again after season if it got ... some Pair growing arc for MC)

(Slight spoilers for the sake of my point) One whole ep, mc gets dragged around by hero who is his love rival, attacks him, and helps him all while wasting precious time to get to his date. Another time he lets his subordinate join them on their date trip, while complaining he joined them (give him order, beat him off screen, explain butterfly sex and dating, ...or dont complain that you let him join). And last drop was the classic "take it easy on enemy", "dont kill bandits and murderers", "let enemy off the hook and act surprised when they stab you in the back (TWICE in few minutes)".

All of these situations result in positive. His love interest is a healer in hero party, she likes he gets along with her party (annoying hero love rival). She probably wouldnt love him murdering bandits in front of her either...but its all so weirdly artificial in this "do good and good you will receive". Even when killing psychopathic murderer, that you already gave a chance before before gettin everyone in danger, EVEN when he tells you you will regret not killing him and your GF if nowhere to see you kill him or blames you for gettin enraged...we still let him go, so that we can stretch this copy-paste story for 8 more episodes.

As someone who has been reading the sauce for years, I mainly came to this for the refresh and while it was not necessarily bad, its far from good as standalone and worse as adaptation. If you are interested in isekai from baby power fantasy with epic fights, that doesnt lean to heavily into the whole cheat code and has characters that wont irritate you constantly by their decisions, go read it.

The anime itself suffers mostly in animation quality, which was fine for me, someone who isnt new to this.
My main issue was the skipped content of training arc which I could forgive, but ... the 2-3 years at the end that skipped the whole adventurer arc where we had character progress, making important friends and notorious first enemy is inexcusable.
Secondly, making the baby dragon make mouse squeaking noises before she can use telepathy is the worst "artistic" decision I came across in recent years. Its a fckin dragon, why does it sound like dog toy...its not like it absolutely had to make any noises! >.<

DISCLAIMER: This is my 1st step into Gundam, I always avoided the series cause I simply dont care mucha about mecha, and it was already a bit too complex and old for me to imagine myself enjoying it. I dont hate mecha, per se, if its just means to an end to a good story, therefore I dont consider Geas, TT:GL, NGE (two of which are in my all time top) a mecha, and I always considered Gundam one.
TL:DR Def give a try, even if new to Gundam, so far its great, but watch explainer (bellow) to avoid headache before or after 2nd ep...
I decided ... to give this one a try as its supposedly completely detached from the main story (more on that later) and I have to say I am very happy I did. Its still too early at 3ep but so far I enjoyed every episode very much and is easily one of the top things this season for me. That being said the 2nd ep especially is a bit confusing and made me look up some info. The show generally doesnt expect you not being familiar with its universe AT ALL! So I would recommend everyone who is new like me to try 1st ep and if you like it go watch some video on YT ( I recommend "Getting Non (UC) Gundam Fans up to Speed With GQuuuuuuX" by Kakarot197 cuz the one I watched before had few less info and that guys accent made it rly hard to focus xD). The vid has plenty spoilers for ep 2 which is some backstory, so be aware and pick yourself if you wanna avoid spoilers and be confused for 20more minutes or get explainer and actually know whats happening as you see it again in high res. :D

Disclaimer: I did not read the sauce (just like you) + The 7/10 is for fantasy/sci-fi action comedy, as this genre has pretty low bar...
At first I was really put off by the "I let everyone fck me over in my prev life so now imma be and a-hole bastard to everyone" premise, but thankfully its not really much more than just that, a premise...so far the MC is acting pretty normal (considering hes been cucked to death, is like 50yo and theres bunch of pretty ladies with HUGE plot around him).
The comedy is actually pretty good, action is decent and Reina Ueda as ... sexy maid droid makes my ears very, very red.
TL:DR one of the better comedies this season, def give it a try if you want some easy fun lewd action comedy

Edit:*After finishing it I dont think its worth- 1 It gets episodical with new girls (theres some story last 3episodes). 2 If you come across glaze about sword play, yes sword fights are fairly realistic, which makes the fact plate armors are being slashed thru even more jarring!*
I see everyone who read the sauce dislike it and who didnt like it (mostly)...I did not read it and can say its not bad anime, but I would not really recommend it to anyone who isnt desperate to watch something new and didnt already clear their whole backlog.
I will make this quick, its just another "Clueless OP ... MC with harem", but instead of being a child its a boomer. This makes it better but also slightly worse than the rest of this genre. PROs: The case being adult makes it we dont have to see the same gags recycled here, its less loud and naive...which leads to CONs: Since the cast is adult you expect more from them, but its pretty much the same shizz with bunch of beauties in their 20's tryin to get their teacher who is in his 40's. I dont have any issue with the age gap and if you desperately need something fresh in harem, go for it. But something about 45-ish year old man being unable to speak up and clear any of the MANY "funny plot armor" misunderstanding rubs me the wrong way.
Long story short, not great, but slight better then rest

If you need some easy watch, otherwise save your time.
It started as one of the usual "I'm actually amazing but have no idea" with a plot that was looking quite interesting. But it turns out our MC is maybe not just naive but simple too and he isnt the only one here.
For example, lets say you are on secret mission to protect life of a royal family member who is targeted by assassins, so you grab your OP idiot, hire some adventures you just met and go lay some trap. The issue is, the ppl in this show thought it would be great idea to ... just tell all of this info to the adventures the very next day, cause you know...they were curious. So much for secret mission, and those are the smart characters. Meanwhile the OP idiot scrubs defense magic from walls in a house only his party ever entered (cuz he just build it doh) without giving it a moment to ask anyone if they perhaps put it there. All this while he builds a mansion in 3 days, kills dragon golem with just dagger etc.

Unless you plan to turn your brain off and just watch something silly with cute girls (I dont judge you) I suggest you stay away from this show, at least for now ... maybe we get some story later.

I just wanna mention this, since it could save someones time ... overall 6/10
The story is fine, theres alot of action and animation is very good. The sound effects are somewhat corny.
But the main warning is, that this show has one of the most annoying characters since Shinji. Its like Zennitsu and Shinji had a baby and its on the screen 90% of the time. I dont understand the reason behind this character trying to introduce some human counterpoint to out main duo and perhaps some (very poorly implemented) comedic relief. But he is so out of place in a decent story, with high stakes, ... emotions and all we get this loud annoying whiny wannabe samurai kid (mentally around 12) not just running around and breaking the atmosphere but also fcking over future situations with his incompetence. There is some attempt for development, but falls short again.
I somewhat managed to force my self thru the moments where he has more screen time with the help of right arrow key, mainly cause I needed some easy action show to unwind and the 2nd season has even better rating, but I have to say having to fight this huge annoying plot armor had me waver multiple times,

IDK why but I expected much more since its an older manga, that survived for this long...I ve known about the manga for years and was thinking about eventually reading it, but this is just terrible.

First of all, everything looks good enough, the animation or more accurately the design is great, which makes the cheap static fights so much more jarring.
The biggest issue for me is the stupidity of the characters...its one of those "lets do anything we can in order to justify this plot armor" situations and it makes it unwatchable for me.

This might be just me being too agro about this, and its ... true that I do hate stupid decisions - or lack of them - that lead to what then seems like worthless, useless plot if only someone didnt make that mistake before. But here its almost impossible to ignore, for example which isnt really spoiler - there is a fight in a camp at night, everyone sleeps during the whole fight, ppl die, kid screams, monster comes...they still sleep during the fight and only wake up at the end to save the bad guy...which the MC could kill at any time since the ppl showed in a blink of an eye.
I personally can not ignore shat like that and I know it will make any future plot till the time the guy dies absolutely unbearable for me, and looking at the 160-ish chapters the sauce has I cant help but wonder, how much shorter would it be, if the ppl in your story were not complete idiots?

Best "villainess" anime I watched so far (out of 5or so). I did not expect to get actual decent writing, characters and romance.

It has a little rough start where it seems like we will be fed some bad "misunderstanding" comedy about her roleplaying as villain (think "KageJitsu at home"). But this stops after few episodes as she gets older...which leads me to one of the downsides - this show has too many time skips, idk if they are in the sauce or its to save time/money...Its def weird and breaks the story a bit but its not a deal breaker.

The main story plot is ... actually pretty interesting while it goes, and characters well written...I can not stress enough how refreshing this is.
In case you forgot what well written characters mean (I cant blame you) here is summary:
Unlikable characters are that way for a reason, not for being annoying or useless, there seem to be actual reasons behind ppls behavior, MC isnt dull and empty, only abusing the isekai plot armor and she often makes things harder for herself just cause she wants to be true to her role she picked actually herself cause it resonated with her, not cause its the games plot...pretty interesting huh?

The main story arc ends before the end and last ep takes us on start of new arc (I assume) leaving this show as "open ended" and in state of "waiting for another season" or "manga bait".

Characters are likable, have development and look good.
A/V and char design is also pretty good.
There is some light comedy. And ACTUAL, REAL romance love interests (no shoujo/shounen based harem even if it may seem like there might be and also no dump sex jokes, ecchi, or anything...just ppl who like each other or those who dont like them...I cant believe it either). xD
