Very pleasantly surprised with how this series was portrayed, especially the plot. It was very free-flowing, but there were obvious parameters that made the show have its own charm. Although, there are some things I disliked that deserve a mention.

Couple number 1 (Ep 1 - 4): Ritsu Onodera × Masamune Takano (6/10)
These first 4 episodes felt very, very rushed. To put it shortly, there was a ton of avoiding and not much screentime for Takano which did mildly irritate me. We didn't have much to work off of to begin with either. Not to mention the amount of times Ritsu had been harassed by ... Takano, and he simply took it? this feels incredibly unrealistic and a bit distasteful, because this first part was about Takano gaslighting Ritsu to fall for him, and then harassing him repeatedly. 6/10, although I wanted more pure interactions between them, not such forceful ones.

Something I can appreciate is how they were consistent with Ritsu and Takano near the end. I had half expected that they wouldn't do that until season 2.

Couple number 2 (Ep 5 - 8?): Yoshiyuki Hatori × Chiaki Yoshino
The concept of childhood friends, or rather childhood coworkers was very sweet. The one thing that kept tripping me up was when the couples randomly started to change. There was also much unresolved conflict, such as when it was hinted that Yuu felt something for Chiaki. In the midst of this, we got an episode of Ritsu and Takano and it felt so confusing. It also doesn't help that everyone looks so alike.. making it much harder to follow.

Couple number 3 (Ep 8 - 12?): Shouta Kisa × Kou Yukina
This one was my favourite, it being the sweetest and purest one out of the other two. It wasn't exactly slow paced but it didn't feel as rushed as Ritsu and Takano's.

A pretty messy review but overall, this season was pretty good. Looking forward to the next!

Rivalry between two top actors twists into an obsessive, tangled power game where pride and lust collide under studio lights. Fame and public image mean nothing once the cameras stop rolling, the feelings do. Tension drips from every stolen glance and backhanded compliment. One chases, the other pretends to run, but neither wants to stop.

Let me start off with this; There had been too many moments that push consent into uncomfortable gray zones, and it was quite distasteful at times. MANY of the interactions were unconsented for and we were just lucky that Saijo just so happened to like it and eventually accept the ... fact that he was being harassed. It did gross me out in the beginning when he was into it. Repeatedly, I stopped watching and left it on standby, not going back to it until a week or two later.

Animation holds up well enough to spotlight every expression. Soundtrack hums along, mostly forgettable except when silence does the real work. Arguably, the op and ending wasn't as catchy for me. There was potential for this to be better, in many aspects. The romance scenes seemed very generic, and it seemed as if the team was rushing to get the anime finished at the end. The ending was not as satisfying as i anticipated, and it would've been better with more scenes of Saijo and Azumaya. It was a fairly quick watch (if you were to be consistent, unlike me), and i would recommend it to someone who wants a simple BL, nothing too deep.

Watch with headphones. TOO MUCH MOANING AND SOFT CORN.

(Side note, the live action was hot garbage.)
