It definitely wasn't a failure! I'm somewhat picky with higher ratings (or at least I like to think so) but I still really enjoyed Cyberpunk, so no need to apologize!!
I really appreciated your recommendation in this year's Secret Santa event! Cyberpunk Edgerunners is a show that had definitely been on my radar given how popular it is, but for some reason I just never got around to watching it. I was sure it was good as I'd heard a ton of praise for it, but it never really interested me enough to start it myself. You gave me the perfect reason to watch it, though, and I really enjoyed it!
My favorite aspect of it was something you described in your letter, and that was Night City itself. The first two episodes of the show were by far my favorites because of how they established Night City and how corrupt it is in such an efficient way. It really does feel like a real place, and the way the systematic corruption is ingrained into every single aspect of the show, characters, and story really impressed me. The flaws in this city are the underlying force behind every single action taken by our main characters and all those flaws were felt because of the great worldbuilding.
In terms of negatives I think the pacing in the back half was a bit too fast for my liking, namely the timeskip after episode 6, but besides that I have no major complaints. It really was a solid show that I quite enjoyed, so thank you very much for the recommendation!
Happy new year, hope everything goes well for you in 2026!
