-Both feature a main character who is billed up as a skilled legendary figure with a huge bounty on there heads -Legendary figure is determined to put his past actions behind him and lead as pacifist a life as possible -The other MCs go on adventures with the legendary figure while trying to avoid those trying to claim the bounty -Comic hijinxs and good action set pieces abound -Both have a good amount of blood and violence despite the comedy (Counting SD part 2) Both had an extended episode runt of 20+ Trigun takes a sudden dramatic turn to a serious drama halfway through and isn't as wacky as SD is throughout
