There may never be a perfect show, but Sailor Moon classic comes so incredibly close. Never have I ever seen another anime that flawlessly mixes together so many genres and themes into its story. One episode can be funny and lighthearted while another can be dazzling and majestic. Those who enjoy action can enjoy the magical girl combat, while those who prefer more grounded stories have the slice of life civilian moments. It's really telling how Sailor Moon, both the manga and anime, would go on to inspire so many more creators.

When I first saw images for this show at AnimeNYC, I was a little skeptical. But I actually took the time to watch it and was incredibly surprised with how much I enjoyed the non-sexual plotline. Between Hinata learning to express his feelings for Mariabell, Mariabell learning to adapt and thrive in the world around her, and the lore of dark elves being discriminated against and Hinata saving her life. Need I even bring up the art style and animation? There aren't many action segments, but everything flows so smoothly that it's mesmerizing to watch. The colors all burst off the screen yet remain relaxing and pleasing to the eye. The music is reflective ...

As a fan of Liella I enjoyed it. The first years really came into their own as they go through their second year, and Wien turned from being an afterthought to a character I can care about. It was totally worth it seeing Keke return to China after it was teased in the very first season, and for her arc to come to an end.

That being said, I do think it was silly how they went and won Love Live again without any sort of obstacle. Makes them out to be untouchable, and lacks conflict. But the internal character conflicts and the Shanghai arc more ...
