When it comes to me and anime a 4 and under is something I dropped, and this was a painful slog from about halfway through.
The story is a mess, incoherent and disjointed being snapped all over the place with no flow. They try to glue it together with generic "lol so funny" or "oh so srs for reelz" characters. It just falls flat. You got your opener 2 part episode that seems o be going somewhere, then its over and we are handed another 2 parter where the lead female (himea) needs
...
to confront the imaginary friends she made in her time confined in that cube thing from the previous 2 parter. the rest just goes down hill fast from an already luke warm start.... so I just gave it the wash and at the end a 1 was all it deserved. Unlikely to get a sequel.
All suspense is taken from our male leads (taito.... or taito taito taito ad nauseam from our wimpering female lead) ability to regenerate 5-6 times every 15 minutes..... I cannot even rightly recall because it is so inconsequential.... because he just dies like 5 times in 10 seconds then ~contrivance~ he makes it to the next regen interval. Rinse repeat.
Our main female (himea or HIMEEEAGHHH as you will soon dread the male lead yelling her name SHUT UP kay thanks), is apparently super powerful or god damned pathetically weak and useless depending on how you look at it. She apparently has almost no power left, but is "supposedly" still super capable, but is always the damsel or sitting in the corner doing squat.
The rest are a slapdash mess of: "comedy" (if you want to label what she does comedy) nekomimi type who flashes her panties in every scene, a "im serious and powerful oh wait i just got a pole up my ass" jerk male character, a "childhood friend" (every school romance needs one?) who is there for one thing and that's it, spoiling it would spoil one of the later arcs and the entire use of the character, tomboy with candy in mouth female.... and others that are jut as useless and inconsequential.
the art is fine, all the female characters have a sort of two tone hair scheme going on, one color up top, another near the tips... and himea has this glowey orb stuff that is never questioned "because anime".... I actually do not like this style of character design... maybe im too old. You know the bobble head females (big head but mall everything else) but sensibly proportioned males? Anyways it is passable and fluid at most times.
sound is fine, again there is nothing to really take home here.
this is the first anime in a while that i felt was a total waste of my time (that i finished)

I will not write a whole lot as I think the top rated review by Venneh oh so long ago encapsulates everything I feel.
However I will add a few things that are pertinent to me. I began watching this because the concept (manga) is by the same person who does Otoyomegatari (which by god I hope gets an anime in the future). I watched it in rapid succession and it is truly a great show, In my opinion.
Both seasons re great and the trials faced feel real and are enforced by it actually being real not that long ago, as a viewer you can feel
...
the pain and heartache. However, that does not mean it is an overly complicated story, it is just romeo and juliet in a sense. But I'd watch this again before going to R/J. I don't know, there is just something about Anime that gets the classic West (ie Europe).
It is quiet, 95% of the time, even when the heavy drama is going on, as this sticks to the old upper class rules so tightly it makes it hurt. Do not get (show yourself being) upset, do not raise your voice, stay inside your caste, and marry for power.
-Spoiler-
The story does pan out as you would hope but that does not make it any less enjoyable. The only thing I can complain about is that there is not more, as the manga ends its intended story at volume 7 or 10, but the last 3 are extras... well a couple of the last chapters in volume 10 actually show their wedding and I would have loved to see that in an OVA. Unfortunately we get a decent sized time skip where they have 4 kids, cute end but again the wedding in the manga is nice.

Here is what, I believe, anyone would say after watching this would...
Oh, okay.
It is sad to say such a great character such Dalian is present here but not much is revealed as to what she is. Actually that can be said about everything in this show, it needs a second season... or a 24 ep reboot to do it properly. As it would, in my opinion, be odd to go into a second season and just then have the episodes dedicated to introducing the characters adequately.
Enjoyment is to be had here, but it is a shallow high.
Characters:
This series has a great, oh
...
so great, gothic loli voiced by none other than Shinku from rozen maiden. It shows through but this voice is softer/less sharp, she is thoroughly enjoyable to listen to, and it ends there. Nothing is really revealed about her other than huey can plunge is hand into her chest and pull out books. There are other like her with their partners who also do similar things... but summing it up for everyone beyond Huey and Dalian is:
Who the F*** are these people, and that only applies to the characters who stay alive, and to the next point.
The story:
This is why it needs more eps, there was no real story till the last ep and we were given but a taste. From the second to the second last episode we are throw throwaway characters that die within the episode they are introduced in other than 1 supporting female and 1 supporting male. The finale is interesting, but was nothing beyond that because it ended without so much as a whisper and a sigh of disappointment from your seat.
Art:
good, and leaving it at that is fine.
Sound:
also good.

Rosario vampire, this anime will likely catch eyes because of them pretty ladies, and that is the summit of what it offers.
To be frank there will be some spoilers here and I will keep this brief, I will not describe the opening story because you can just look above and see it.
This anime seems to pride itself upon the worms eye view and every standstill talking scene is at least 30% "look at these panties while nothing is really happening" moments. It is ok, but becomes excessive, beyond the succubus character there is no such dire need to shove ecchi into the faces of viewers.
Let
...
us delve into the true problem with the show, it does not follow the manga.... well it KIND of does but not in the way you would want it to. Take for example Shirayuki, she comes later in the story than the actual ending of the anime, hell half the anime is taken from after the same events in the manga. To be totally true, the Anime HAS around 15 chapters of the first manga thrown about out of order, but the ending of the show is chapter 10. To further compound this the first season focus' on very little that makes the manga truly great, its like Kurokami all over again, they hit some good points but totally screwed around with some major selling points and just gave it their own spin with no intention of following the story.
Story 6: its OK and just that, nothing to write home about, the anime favors harem ecchi while the manga is multitudes better
art 8: its good, but not amazing, the biggest plus is that it is not all over the scoreboard depending on the episode.
sound 8: good, somewhat memorable.
character 6: see above, it can be placed here as well.
enjoyment 8: its fun, and thats why this is so high, but this is personal preference.
overall 7: will continue on to the second season and hope it gets some good stuff in.
My personal quibbles:
- as said before the anime does its own thing at its own speed, it could have been so much better...
- every time moka transforms (every episode) it goes through the entire sequence and describes what is happening by a narrator. The camera pans her butt, as it enlarges, as well as her chest as a button comes loose. Unnecessary and tedious.
- to transform, except once, mokas rosario needs to be ripped from the chain. Somehow every time Aono is trying to embrace Moko his aim is off and it goes directly to the rosario
If you ended up reading any of this DO NOT READ THE CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS, the key characters descriptions are pretty much ripped from the manga and you will be sorely disappointed.

It was ok, that is what it was.
It is a typical setup of boy meets strange powerful girl that cannot communicate. Girl learns japanese in a week and bam its all "SUKI SUKI SUKI" up in hnyah. Of course there are other love interests, but not a bucket load.
Dragon Crisis starts as it ends really, here a spoiler for you "I LUV YOU" is the ultimate power in this show. Also Dragon Crisis is such a misleading title it is not even funny, when you find out what it is referring to you just facepalm and go WAT.
In any case if anything gets you to
...
watch this it would be the character design of Rose (Kugumiyas character) because those eyes and that soft blonde hair with little detail other than the silhouette is just... pretty good I must say, lights up the scene when it is present.
The main problem in this show is that nothing is adequately explained: what are lost precious, why are red dragons so important, what is the society really, what, where, who, why, oh and the show goes in a loop.
In the end this is filler candy that could use another season, something to just watch because there is nothing else, but not really savor.

Highschool of the dead, there is not much to be expected once you see pictures of the show or the opening credits.
It is a show about a harem in a zombie apocalypse, and this is no understatement. 3 of the four lead females have serious feelings for the male lead and while they all come from different angles, one being childhood friend with promises, the other being tsundere childhood friend, and the other being ACTUALLY interesting. And if you have read any reviews you would be expecting the name Saeko here, and you are correct. If the anime was without all other characters but Saeko
...
and Takashi, possibly Kouta as well he is actually fun, you would have a much less fanservice anime but pumped in the awesome factor. And anyways Saeko is the sexiest of the gals so not much is lost.
To get the the point, this anime is solid but does itself in by throwing fun bags in wherever it can and forces animation on the jiggle, there is a scene with a sniper rifle and boobs and it has to be one of the most ridiculous scenes I have seen in some time, it was unnecessary as it pushed tension off the action and made a spectacle of slo-mo boob jiggle.
It gets a solid 8, to me that is, some may find it difficult to look past the breasts.

Spice and Wolf, nearly perfect.
Perfection was almost met but what it fell short at, for me, was lack of vibrance in character design. Do not take this absolutely literally, Holo(Horo) and Lawrence are vibrant in personality, and so is pretty much every minor character with more than 30 seconds of screen time. The lack I speak of is purely pencil to paper, while so much was put into everything and you could write a book on just describing Holo and Lawrence it seems the masterpiece which is was dulled with the art... at times.
Now to get to it, it is a great anime that
...
centers itself around speech and the relationship between a previously loner merchant and a deity of the land wishing to return to her homeland as she is no longer needed. The first arch focus' on the two getting to know one another and that is all I will say. The second focus' on Lawrence and his faults, as well as a little relationship whatnots that begin to take form between the two main people of this tale. This relationship is especially apparent in the OVA which is supposedly tied to season 2 as episode 00... but really its place is better suited as season 1 ova ep 14.
I love it, and rushed immediately into season 2, it is absolutely worth the watch.

I made an account just to review this show because thus far it has annoyed me so greatly I cannot stand it anymore.
Here I am trying to enjoy this somewhat fun and interesting show with a basic plot and the narrator will not shut their god damned mouth. Can't go thirty seconds without them butting in and giving useless information or witty remarks on bust size or remarks on people personalities which are CLEARLY indicated through their actions. I DO NOT NEED A DAMN NARRATOR TO TELL ME A GUY IS A PLAYBOY WHEN he is BISHI and all over a girl he just
...
met.
I DO NOT NEED A NARRATOR TO TELL ME THAT THE PEOPLE I AM SEEING ARE FROM 10 MINUTES PRIOR AND DELINQUENTS.
I especially do not need a narrator talking OVER the characters and drowning them out. I'f I were japanese watching the original and not the subbed I would hardly know whats going on as the characters will jumble what the narrator is saying them likewise in reverse.
It was a TERRIBLE idea to have such a narrator.
