Houkago Kitaku Biyori is a fluffy low-stakes romance, which shares it's likeness to other episodic "gimmik" romcoms like Komi-chan or Takagi-san. Follwing the daily adventures a Senpai and Her Kouhai in an Home going club, it establishes a refreshing chemistry between the two making each journey fun to follow.
But what seperates this series from its contempraries is it's Pacing, it's attention to detail and it's ability to both conform yet distort tropes you seen in this genre. change, festivals and Vacations come and go and our cast never stay in the same time period for more than a few chapters. What this does bring in is a sense of tension not really seen in other slow burn romance. Every chapter changes the relationship a bit and there never is quite a stasis.
The art also complements this series, each panel being well structured and conveys things that need not be said. One of these is physical touch as a love language and how it evolves each chapter. While it's quite understated and in the backgroud most of the time, it does a great deal in progressing the story so that when it does become the main point, it's dealt with very naturally.
Overall, good stuff.
