A hollow imitation of Initial D using fake "racing terminology" where the story and characters are flatter than a pancake. This is nothing compared to initial D, which at least had *some* air of "realism" in the racing, MF Ghost has just blatantly fictional car physics and a """"Balance of Power""""" system which is so in the air it would have race teams never race in anything even resembling a road car. The original Mangaka for Initial D consulted real touge and track racers for the actual racing, which was not done here and it shows. He also provably traced his artwork, and some stills

replicate those panels. The car talk and physics is fake, the story is bland and wince-worthy, and the Kenata is so unlikable they had to remove all of the likeable aspects from any of rest of the cast to make Kenata look better, and it still fails to make you care or sympathize about any of his troubles. In total you get an uninspired, fictitious rendition of motorsports which fails to surpass even the logic of child go-kart racer. If you are craving intricate car/racing manga with good characters and story I recommend you watch Wangan Midnight. If you like car sounds and car CGI from 5th stage then its slightly serviceable.
*VERY MINOR MANGA SPOILERS*
In my opinion, MF ghost fails to achieve even a fraction of what its past self could accomplish as a series, and it does not improve at all in the elements of story or car physics or logic. It is clearly a cash grab from a Mangaka who had little success in other genres and had to come back for another paycheck. I doubt I will relive this terrible experience in the form of an anime past these 5 episodes.
Go watch Wangan Midnight/10
