What a fitting sport show to watch during the hot summer!

I haven't played the otome game the show is based on so the review will be about the show and what it delivered to me.

This is a great short sports anime that covers all the emotional beats that it should. the characters are fun and different, while there are points that I would've loved the show expanded on, it was still highly enjoyable to watch the characters go through.
I'm sure you can catch the same emotional beats in other sports anime, but this one is worth giving a shot!

The art style is great, clean and ... colorful and makes you want to get in the world with those characters.
Not only is the art clean, there are some great shots and the animation is really nice for the more dynamic parkour segments. It was pretty visible that the animators and the team in general had a blast creating this anime.

The soundtrack was fun and gripping at the right moments and added a lot to the scenes, those races were such a joy to watch and always made me want to get up and go have a run in an obstacles park with my friends.

All in all, if you're looking for an upbeat, sporty and summery show to watch during the summer - you won't be wrong with picking Prince of Stride: Alternative!

Rewatching this OVA in 2025 really made me reminisce and go back to the manga and read it again.

This short OVA covers the prelude part of the series - vol 0, Stray Dogs Howling in the Dark. It's main focus is getting us to know the main characters and set the tone and plot that is to transpire.

The plot was good at setting up the stage and its players, but not much could be addressed as this is an introductory to the plot and characters.
The soundtrack was ok, and the art style is cool. The setting is interesting and the characters are unique.

There could've ... been a pretty cool show if the manga were to be an anime, here's to hoping that we might see an adaptation in the future.

The premise is very unique and interesting, the characters feel complex to go through their arcs and the story keeps you in the show over its whole span.

I found the unique art style along with the soundtrack very gripping and fitting for the character designs and premise as a whole.
It's not every day that you find vampires solving crimes and balancing it with tending to their kids.
I found the character development tense at times and very welcome in others.
The soundtrack is its own character, felt always welcome and added to the scenes it accompanies. I found myself a few times listening to it separately, ... it's just that good.
The plot evolves very naturally and nicely done, by the end you can't help but feel like you're a part of the gang.

Watched the show in one sitting and felt that I needed to see more of this universe by the end of it.
While there is a separate play and a manga series connected to the show, I'd love to see more of Dali Delico and the gang in future installments.
