As somebody who has watched anime since the 80s, here are my thoughts...

The good (rating: 8):
The art style reminded me of two specifically:
- Saint Seiya (The angular facial structures as well as the eye style! Saran's eyes!)
- Slayers (Latticenail reminded me a bit of Lina Inverse mixed with Amelia)
The animation quality was really good & painfully obvious that sucked up most of the budget.

The bad (rating: 5):
- Story was rushed & horribly paced
... - Lack of decent plot. It jumped everywhere!
- Next to no character development

There has been so much poorly animated content the past I dunno, 10+ years that this was just a nice change of pace imho. I -really- enjoyed the art & animation quality & that is why I gave that a higher rating. This type of show should have been a full length 24 episodes, but I know, they rarely do those anymore (sigh). If only it wasn't so rushed. If they make another season of this, I hope they keep the animation quality and improve the story pace.

I watched it subbed in Japanese and plan to re-watch it again in English.

My thoughts on this show is only on the show. I haven't read the original manga this is based on so my thoughts are very one-sided. What honestly sold me on this show is the SLAYERS vibe it gives off. It reminded me of the pointless stupid slapstick humor I loved during the 90s watching Lina & Gourrey blow sh** up and run amok! (⌒ω⌒)

They may have butchered the original as others have mentioned in other reviews, but at this point I don't like to take any isekai seriously. It's already overdone and I'm rather sick of the typical isekai crap.The opening song is catchy ... so meh. You either like it or don't (as with everything else in life). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ If it makes me laugh, I watch. ( ´ ▽ ` )
