This was so good:') Seiji is one of the funniest characters in any of the mangas I've read, if not THE funniest. The banter between him and anyone he talks to is so goofy and well-written, but the little details on the ways he shows his love for Shin is so cute. This was just so cute I love them so much, no unnecessary drama, just a sweet and well rounded story with great art and fun character design. The facial expressions had me dyinggggg.
Also really well paced and with a good wrap up! I really loved that it was a more 'realistic' and adult

Zariya Ranmaru is such an INCREDIBLE storyteller and the artstyle is also so unique, almost kind of reminiscent of 80s/90s manga but super refreshing and modern at the same time.
Birds of Shangri-La is a story of a well-protected and cared for brothel and the prostitutes (birds) working there. The MC, Apollo, is straight and hired to work as a 'stud', who warms up the Birds before they see clients. It goes into the MC's growing relationship with one of the Birds, as well as the traumatic past of one of the Bird and explores a lot of dark themes like PTSD, SA, death, etc, though ...

CRIMINALLY underrated? only a few mangas have me going "omg wait i love this" out loud every few chapters lol, one of my few 9's.
really unique storyline (dealing w/ spirits, lowkey a slowburn exorcist romance story but the spirits are treated kindly), protective uke and sweet seme brought together by fate. art is super solid and i love the character designs of both the humans and the spirits, they're all unique from each other and play well into the plot author is leaving a lot of really good routes open to go into all the characters backstories and im really excited to see where it goes! |
