I read a lot of comments before writing this just to know what people thinks about it so far.

No, Gundam GQuuuuuuX is not a series for you who just watched Witch from Mercury and wants to watch more things like that. GQuuuuuuX is what the synopsis says and the episode 2 shows: A What-If of the original Gundam. If you never watched the original Gundam, you'll never understand anything about it.

GQuuuuuuX in overall is a very good anime with a lot of fanservice, there's a lot of references on it that, if you watch more Gundam you'll get it.


Story: 6/10
It feels strange watching it because ... it feels like a Fooly Cooly, but Gundam. Although, this has changed a bit after episode 2.

Music: 8/10
The opening is cool, but the Ending feels better, and the overall soundtrack is fire, specially on episode 2, where they used some OSTs from the original Gundam.

Direction: 7/10
It has some good points and bas points, but overall, it's clear that they're putting a lot of effort on it, specially on episode 2 by the way.

Characters: 7/10
They're cute, fun and there have some faces we already know. Machu is a cutie-pie and she being like this probably is one of the reasons why some people liked this show.

Animation: 8/10
The animation is good. It has a lot of personality and it's like Anno's watermark. At this point, he's like an Akiyuki Shinbo with his own animation style. The episode 2 has a change of style mixing the vibes of the old Gundam and the new Gundam.

Overall: 8/10
It has a lot of pros and cons, but there are more pros than cons so, it's easily an 8/10.

Now I am going to criticise some comments of the public.

As said on the start of this review... No, GQuuuuuuX is not for those who never watched the Classic Gundam. GQuuuuuuX is a what-if with a complex plot about Char and Newtypes overall. It has a lot of references to things that appears on the Classic Gundam, Zeta and even other series unrelated to Gundam, like FLCL(Fooly Cooly) and Evangelion.

I saw a lot of people complaining about a kid piloting a mecha. What are you going to complain now? That there's big robots in the show? If someone complains about it, so they probably never watched a Gundam anime or even a mecha anime in their lives.

Episode 2 is the last topic. I read some people saying that it was confusing and it felt "off", of course, it literally feels like the Classic Gundam. They did a great job by mixing the new Gundam vibes with the classic style and I can't see where this is bad. GQuuuuuuX is probably an anime for the old ones understand that "The Old Gundam Era is Ended" and for the people who liked the new ones understand that "The Old Era of Gundam will never End".

It's like Code Geass or Parasyte, you only score anything below "8" because you probably don't understand the story or have a problem with some topic covered.
Inuyashiki Last Hero does have its script holes and some errors, but that doesn't change the fact that it's an absurdly good story and easily a cult of absurd value.
A good point to defend this anime is the sense of reality present in the work, this goes from the way the themes are approached to the interactions between the characters, regardless of the BIZARRE things that appear in the anime.
