thanks for the comment and sry for the late reply
i dont think that theres anything objective abt my list it's just stuff that i enjoy or whatnot
i really liked kaoru hana and its cute antics, in spite of its archetypal depiction of school life, thought twas a refreshing and v wholesome series. i like the main couple and think that they complement each other well enough

Yes, I am currently in a Christmas mood, and I have been buying presents for my family; I wanted to gift myself a Switch 2, but I will wait until there is a discount. I saved the paychecks, and I have the money, but I won't spend so much on a console.
Thanks for the concern, it is nice to read those words :) I hope everything has been going great on your end in the weeks we haven't talked.

I feel the same way; your words and messages are really kind, and it is a pleasure to read them. Your words are really considerate and reflective C:

Honestly, I've been working on myself, so I can't complain much at the moment. I hope everything is going well on your end in these final weeks of the year.

Exactly, if a song from the soundtrack is engaging, you just want to go back as much as possible, to the point you never forget about that anime. For me, Gintama is an anime with some of the most beautiful songs ever - some OSTs are perfect, wholesome, and just perfect. AoT is the same, and also everything that makes Sawano Hiroyuki.
To get yourself invested in something to the point it evokes childhood memories or gives you a feeling that you can't put into words, then that anime did something good. I get that Shounen may be looked down at times, and with valid reasons when certain topics or tropes are overused, but at the end of the day, if you can relax, laugh, and get invested in the adventure, that is all that matters.

Completely, I am happy I gave a chance to Akiba Maid War as it was amazing. In just 12 episodes, they told a hilarious, ridiculous, and wholesome story.
I decided to give another original anime series a chance - Panty and Stocking with Ganterbelt - which was an anime I knew for a long time, but I never watched. Season 1 was nasty, like something a middle schooler with raging hormones would write about, and the plot twist in the final episode saved things. Season 2, on the contrary, was surprisingly good; they added two new villains who were a great addition to the cast. Its fandom has to be one of the most loyal, as they waited 15 years for a second season, and the third one was already announced.
SI-VIS is an anime about a music group that fights invaders and needs the support of their fans to increase their powers. So far, it has had some ups and downs - some episodes have been quite interesting and enthralling, and others felt too filler-like. It will be 24 episodes long, it is currently in episode 10, and I would say so far things are a 6.5/10.

Oh yeah, Street Art; it had some suggestive art I didn't know I would find hahaha. As far as I remember: MC was a closeted bisexual who didn't want to accept he liked man because he got traumatized after discovering his father affair with another man - spoiler alert, the other man was big, and the father was the bottom - most people in his circle were pretty open-minded, including him, but it took him some time to be completely honest. Due to his love interest, he came to know more about another part of the LGBT community, but also faced harsh discrimination by homophobes who beat him up badly and were also targeting other members of the community. There was a massive confrontation, and things ended on a good note. My biggest complaint was how judgmental MC could be, and how manipulative his circle was.

Nichijou has been appearing on my Instagram feed for quite a long time now, and all the videos are quite crazy. Dandadan is so good and absurd. Momo is one of my favorite main female leads. I only wish the author would give her another form to fight; everyone else has one, and I would appreciate the same for her.
I swear, Mags and Wiress reaping was opening an old wound; they were so caring and rebellious. Wiress victory, though only mentioned, will always be one of the best. Maysilee Donner is a queen - proof you can be rich, with an attitude, kind, and iconic. You know, I am never getting over Sunrise on the Reaping. I have to say, I have mixed feelings about the movie after seeing the trailer.

It was thanks to your explanation and past analysis; it made so much sense, especially because, under dire circumstances, where your life is on the line, morals and forcing them on everyone may not be the best option, there are countless examples of how people turn into their worst selves under stress.
I hope so as well. I am currently building a collection of games, and I really want to get that one back.

Exactly! There are so many amazing books that could lead to great conversations, but teachers made it feel like a punishment, especially when they are the threatening type who make you feel scared of asking, and love humiliating their students.
I swear I need to read Don Quijote again one day - the archaic Spanish is going to be an eldritch nightmare, but I feel it is worth the try. Don Quijote and Sancho were really amazing and interesting characters.

The spiralling into madness in Ave Mujica was great, but it could have been so much better - Mutsumi and Uika were the only ones who lost it badly, but the opening song made it seem like Umiri and Nyamu were also turning mad, which didn't happen to the same degree as the other two. Umiri had like two episodes centered on her, and Nyamu got some scenes. I wish this anime were a bit longer, as it could have been a truly psychological series.

I never heard of Ruri Rocks. I am already watching a lot of anime from the season, some of which I think could have been better - I have the theory most studios used all their savings for Summer 2025 for how good that season was - and I am currently adding two more now that the season is almost ending; Saigo ni Hitotsu and Toujima Tanzaburou. What is Ruri Rocks about?
Ugh, fanservice, I am not the biggest fan of ecchi - I think the only anime I was able to enjoy that had fanservice was My Dress-Up Darling, but that's all.

Thank you very much. This year went by quite fast, but it was a heavy one as well. I hope these final weeks of the year are treating you kindly :)
I swear, SI-VIS is like a series where one week the episode is engaging and interesting, and the other isn't convincing; it will have 24 episodes, so let's see if things can get better.

Correct Answer. I still remember how baffled I was when I first saw this surreal character, I really thougth that it was a scanning mistake or something like that, but even in the physical Brazilian version of the Omnibus, he is still there. It got be one of my favorite single panels I've ever read in comics in general.

So, weird background characters like him, is a recorruring thing that Osamu Tezuka did in his manga? I will keep that in mind when I read his main series in the near future.
Young_Vision Dec 9, 1:37 PM
No problem. Nice to meet you and I appreciate the warm welcome! I definitely like your taste in media as well!
PedroFerraz Dec 5, 3:14 PM
Thanks for the compliments, you got great favorites too, particularly the classical composers and influential writers.

Seeing that you have Osamu Tezuka's MW in your favs, I will ask you something, that have I waited years to talk about:
Do you know what exact page of said manga, is where the character from my forum profile picture is from? Here's a tip: it's on the final three chapters of the story.
Paituwin Dec 5, 9:25 AM
Hello and thanks! you have great taste too! im glad to meet another fan of Erin after so much time lol

Tokyo Higoro seems to speaks to anyone who loves manga even in the moments when that love borders on frustration. <3
yeah, i feel like tokyo higoro should resonate with anyone who appreciates art, which in imho, encompasses most of all people, but yeah it should speak to you a lot more of you're familiar with manga in general. matsumoto is quite introspective in this work - it is part appreciation for manga and part commentary on mangakas, and shiozawa is somewhat of a self-insert and more of 'amalgamation of matsumoto's lived experience' type of character. this one comes off as quite personal and touching, and i for one have been quite moved by this work, it changed my outlook on art in general. i hope you find it your liking
Stg_Tumeric Nov 19, 5:10 AM
generally i'd recommend works of taiyou matsumoto and oshimi shuuzou. you seem to have read bamboo samurai, ping pong, and sunny, so i'd highly recommend gogo monsters and tokyo higoro (as mentioned before). some may find oshimi's works to be kinda polarizing so i'd say start with aku no hana and if you seem to fw it then you can go with the rest - inside mari, chi no wadachi, okaeri alice (though i've not read okaeri alice). you should give fire puch a try, irrespective of your view on fujimoto and his works. for me personally i found it be quite the page turner and a fun ride. i'd would recommend yotsuba too but seem to not like comedic and whimsical element so it might not be up to liking.
Snakesbestsna4ks Nov 15, 4:22 PM
hi bang just wanna say I love your aesthetic
Stg_Tumeric Nov 15, 6:25 AM
if you mean ruri rocks or ruri dragon, then i've not seen neither. but they have stirred positive discourse around them and people seem to care about them. the ruri rocks adaptation is by studio bind (they seem to do great adaptations), and i do have a positive view on bind, despite the contents of their adaptations. both the ruris are SoL iyashei-like, and my friends here have seem rated ruri rocks an avg of 8, so it should be solid enough( tho i have no intention of watch them anytime soon).

my recomendation, on the top of my mind, would be tokyo higoro, but if you want something along the lines/like ruri rocks or dragon, them i'm not so sure, besides i've not consumed a lot of ani-manga (atleast not as much as you).
Hazbyn Nov 1, 7:04 PM
Hi! How have you been?
Don't worry about it, I love reading long messages. Let's get into business hahaha.

Your words flatter me a lot :) You are also a wonderful person. I really enjoy reading your replies as you offer some insightful and great comments.
I have been really busy with work, but the paycheck is right around the corner, hahaha. I have also been a bit sick, but nothing that seems too scary for now.
I am glad to hear you are living your best life. We all deserve to have a time when we can finally be at ease with what and who we love. I appreciate your words a lot, more than you think, and I also wish you nothing but the best. Nothing but the best :)

Don't get me wrong, but your sentence "is rare to find someone who communicates with such thoughtfulness" made me remember the lyrics of Seven Wonders by Fleetwood Mac, hahaha. Back to the topic, I agree, I enjoy exchanging ideas with someone who has so much knowledge and care for different series, such as you. That is a lovely quote you wrote, and forgive me for copying it, but I also hope the months that remain in 2025 treat you better than anything else.

Soundtracks, in my opinion, are the most important aspect in any instance; the right song can save several scenes and turn things into a passing mark.
Hahaha, I think you are overpraising me too much. I'm sure they were all ideas that occurred in different paragraphs, each happening at a different moment. I think I said that Jojo's first episode infuriated me way too much, mainly because of how I disliked Dio and the first Jojo's dad. The way everyone turned on Jojo was disgusting. I love to talk with people who make me remember Cyberpunk Edgerunners, because I don't think I will ever get over it, even though there were moments I didn't understand very much, mainly the specifics about technology. The characters made the story compelling and deep; they never had a chance of winning, but they still fought. There is something commendable about that.
Original shows like Akiba Maid War are often at a disadvantage, as they lack a source material to draw from, and when they succeed, it is truly remarkable. I am currently watching an original anime that doesn't have anything to do with Akiba Maid War, but I cannot stop thinking it will be either a hidden gem or a complete mess; I am talking about SI-VIS.

Can you recall what we were discussing? Were we talking about the characterization of anime, a book, or a show? For instance, if it was about the book I discussed with you that got a bit too graphic with the illustrations, then I think maybe both; the main character was quite judgmental about social status, while other characters were hiding information and acting morally superior. Like, the MC's best friend was almost shaming the MC for not accepting he had feelings for a man, while the best friend enjoyed crossdressing and didn't say anything about it because he was also scared.

Nichijou is on my radar as I have watched lots of videos about the anime on social media, and it seems like a great anime, but I haven't watched it yet. Dandadan is so far one of my favorite manga. I love every character so much; I love the first season opening song more than anything, and it's on my Spotify list. Even though I didn't like the second season opening, I still feel it was a great season. That cliffhanger was everything, especially when you remember Aira was in the house.
There is something about absurdity that makes everything funnier, like, you know, they won't happen, like in movies such as Scary Movie, yet you cannot stop feeling attracted to it. It's so ridiculous, you just want to see what's coming.

I completely agree, the fact that Wiress survived purely on observation was, in my opinion, one of the strongest acts of rebellion; she didn't get her hands dirty, won the games, and got the title of Victor and all celebrations without doing what the Capitol wanted her to do. I am not sure I'll ever watch Catching Fire the same.
Ampert was such a great kid, and I hate how little the actor chosen is because I am sure in the movie, his death won't be solely about his bones. Same with the little girl from District 6. I feel the Capitol didn't think things through, like, by keeping Lampert alive, they could have blackmailed Beetee as much as they wanted. I will never get over the "I'll be your sister" scene. I remember it, and I want to cry.
I swear, Suzanne Collins' message in Sunrise on the Reaping was one of the loudest ever. The arena in the shape of an eye was way too real.

I love it, I copied this whole paragraph because it was perfect; your explanation about Machiavelli is really engaging, and can explain the Hunger Games quite spot on, just like many other series and franchises. When the only goal is to survive and just be alive for tomorrow, there isn't much space to think about morals; you just make up your mind and try to ignore the voices that say Don't do it.

For real, the archaic Spanish was impossible, like, no, just no; it's been a long time since I last read it, but think of a book published in 1605, written in another dialect of your language, and tell me if you can read a page without the need of a dictionary. Yet, the book was brilliant, maybe I will buy a copy to keep on my bookshelf if someday I want to reread it.
Huh, I never thought of it like that; my language teacher was a really bad person (I am biting my nails not to use the word I want to use), and with her, the only thing you wanted to do was pass; liking the books was not the goal. But now that I think about it, the summaries did manage to keep the spirit of the book and how great it was. Miguel de Cervantes was a genius.
Exactly, there is something compelling about Sancho, how he grew from being greedy, and how loyal he became. He did care for Don Quixote.

I don't think so; the judge was in for blood; he didn't care if the victims were manipulated to commit crimes or weren't truly the ones at fault; he just wanted justice. Plus, when the radio announced their crimes, none of them cared in the sense of wanting to apologize; the plan was set in stone after that moment.
I think the only character we saw who had some remorse was Emily, but when that happened, it was already too late; it was her turn. Like, they were all in the same death game situation, and while most of them were losing it, wanting to survive, she was the only one who sat and for a moment thought about the person she had wronged.

Yes, I messed it up, I swear there are nights I cannot stop hating myself for that; I am getting it back, I don't know when and I don't know how, but I am getting it back. It will be pricey, but I don't care.
Yoshi's Island DS was a huge surprise. I still cannot believe I got it. I found a copy of Princess Peach DS, but it is in a city at least 6 hours away from here.

Exactly, it's something we know is not human, yet is not there wanting to attack us, it's just there existing. I don't think humanity would recover from that, though; there is no way that numbness can grant happiness. It's either doing everything to ignore them, or accepting the possibility that something we don't know would want to kill us, whatever they like.

I feel it will be one of those scenarios where characters get absorbed and disappear, and later reappear; I think something big will happen regarding Laios, but I don't know anything else. Like, with how crazy Dungeon Meshi is, I can picture anything happening hahaha.
The Plague sounds quite interesting, and it a way, reflects what happened during the COVID Lockdown as well; I mean, at first everyone was scared of it, then life went on, people went out to eat, to party, to buy at the mall, then there was a resurgance of fear, but things moved on pretty quickly and back "to normal" by wearing face masks.

Ave Mujica was one of those anime that was a huge letdown, but it is still something I am willing to defend; if it lasted for a little more than maybe things would have been different. All in all, I just loved how toxic and dark it was, to the point that even in the end, you cannot convince yourself that any of the girls are mentally sane. I mean, each girl can be summarized by the lyrics of Taylor Swift, "I Shouldn't be left to my own devices."

I completely agree with you, it's always nice to find someone passionate with whom I can talk about several different topics. I have had a lot of luck on this site. I wish you the best in your everyday life as well; I hope what is left of 2025 brings you nothing but the best.

Same here, I know this message will reach you quite late, but I was happy to hear from you again :)
I will be waiting for your next message. I wish you nothing but the best.

To be honest, nothing beats Summer 2025; the anime from the last season were splendid. Initially, I didn't have any plans to watch much anime from this season, but somehow I ended up watching nearly 20 hahaha.
Some haven't convinced me entirely, but so far, the ones I am enjoying a lot are:
-Yano-kun no Futsuu no Hibi (Compelling, funny, and sweet.)
-Wandance (The CG is horrendous, but I like the main character and his struggles.)
-Watashi wo Tabetai, Hitodenashi (Good so far.)
-Sanda (So weird hahaha.)
-Gnosia (Picture Among Us.)
-Fumetsu no Anata e Season 3.
-Digimon Beatbreak (It started darker than other Digimon entries.)
-SI-VIS (Is on that thin line between a hidden gem and a complete mess.)
