Lord of the Mysteries is the greatest piece of fiction ever created. You can’t even imagine how a writer could come up with something like this. The sheer amount of lore is beyond human ability, yet the author somehow managed to include it all. Even with such an enormous and complex world, the story never feels messy.

The dialogue is excellent, every character is exceptionally well written, and I especially love how the power system in Lord of the Mysteries is both incredibly complex and surprisingly simple at the same time.

You should definitely read this.

The only problem—if it can even be called a problem—is that it’s ... extremely long. There are literally over 2,000 chapters. But honestly, it’s because the story is so long that it’s so good.

I found this manga randomly while searching for a short series to binge read, and it genuinely surprised me. It includes almost all of my favorite romance elements in one story. There are cute moments, an age gap where the female character is older, a late confession where both leads already know they like each other, a bit of jealousy, and some light drama. Not too much, but just enough to keep things interesting.

Because of this, the manga really stood out to me. I would love to read more of the author’s work, although I feel like this series might get axed soon. Still, if ... you enjoy the elements I mentioned above, I think it is definitely worth reading. The male lead, female lead, and even the side characters are all good, and since the manga is quite short, it makes for a very enjoyable and easy read.

Arrest that man, whoever wrote this. There is no way anyone in their right mind would write something like this. The author is a hundred percent mentally ill and needs some therapy and love in his life. What could you possibly imagine writing this? If you really want dark, darkest-type manga written by a mentally ill man who is writing his fantasies, you can try it. Otherwise, it is best to avoid it for your mental health. Especially if you have exams or a job interview coming up, it can disturb your mind. The images I saw are burned into my memory, and I know ... I will never be able to forget them. Think about that anime sitting in your “Plan to Watch” list that you have been for the past months and years. Go and watch that instead of reading this.

I cannot understand that underrated gimmick around it. People say it was one of the best pieces of fiction, but they end up getting so disappointed. Don’t fall for the hype unless you love mecha anime so much and can handle second-hand embarrassment from the FMC throughout the whole show. The FMC’s personality is the personality I hate the most in an MC and an FMC.

Just to be clear, I haven’t touched the light novels, and I don’t plan to. I’m judging the anime on its own terms, without any attachment to the source material.

Story: 3/10
The society portrayed in Magnolia is supposedly obsessed with “pure-blooded” ... citizens, to the extent that they send people of the main ethnic group into mental breakdowns or death without consequences. But the show never addresses how such extreme actions aren’t investigated, punished, or even talked about. And it expects me to believe that not a single handler before Lena ever questioned what was happening? This entire secret system somehow stayed hidden from the public for years without a leak, whistleblower, or scandal? Meanwhile Lena openly speaks her mind and nothing ever happens to her.

Yeah… this is where the show loses me the most.

There are way too many characters dumped on you at the start, and almost none of them leave an impression. I can barely remember more than a handful of names, and two of those are just call signs. When characters die, it doesn’t hit emotionally because the show never gave me time to connect with them. Their designs are also too similar—like background NPCs. Even the main cast looks a bit copy-paste with slightly different hair.
